Location: Located on the doorstep of the Rocky Mountains, Buckley AFB is in Aurora, Colorado, a suburb just outside of Denver. The city of Aurora is mainly located in Arapahoe County. Only a portion of the northern boundary lies in Adams County. There are many retired and military families within the community and Colorado in general.
Cost of Living: The Denver metro area is a high cost of living area, but moving slightly outside of the metro area, homes are more affordable.

Schools: Privatized base housing is available on Buckley AFB. Military personnel and their families can also live close-by in the surrounding community. Where you live determines which public school district your children will attend. If you are planning on living in the privatized housing at Buckley AFB, you will be in the Aurora Public School District. Children K-8 grade attend Edna and John W. Mosley P-8 and grades 9-12 attend Vista Peak Preparatory.
