Newport Naval Station (NS) Housing and Information:

Location: NAVSTA Newport provides the facilities and infrastructure essential to support the operations of tenant commands and visiting fleet units. By maintaining its commitment to excellence, NAVSTA Newport enables the development of its Navy's leaders. Newport, Rhode Island is home to more than 40 Naval Commands, including four Coast Guard cutters. Some of the major Commands include Strategic Studies Group, Command Leadership School, Naval Academy Prep School, Naval Justice School, Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Navy Warfare Development Command, Naval War College, Officer Training Command, Senior Enlisted Academy, Surface Warfare Officers School and Defense Institute of International Legal Studies. 

Newport is the Navy's premier training site for officers, officer candidates, senior enlisted personnel, midshipman candidates, as well undersea warfare and development systems. The Naval Station is located in Newport County on the southern end of Aquidneck Island at the mouth of Narragansett Bay in New England.
