Location:  Davis-Monthan Air Force Base is located in Tucson, Arizona (Pima County). The mountains and desert scenery juxtapose to provide a beautiful backdrop for this dynamic base. 

Cost of Living: Davis-Monthan AFB is located in an average cost of living area for the state of Arizona. With interest rates relatively low and a growing population, the entire Tucson region is considered one of the most affordable places to live in the Sunbelt and the West.

Area Population:  530,213 in the city of Tucson, 980,263 in Pima County; Tucson is a military town with a large number of retirees.

Schools: There are 11 major public school districts in the Tucson area. Located on base Borman Elementary School, grades K-5, is a traditional school in Tucson Unified School District and Sonoran Science Academy, a private (tuition free) charter school, grades 6-12th. Palo Verde High School and Roberts Naylor K-8 school are are the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) neighborhood school that also serve the educational needs. DMAFB students attend public, private, home school and charter schools throughout the Tucson area. Arizona allows open enrollment, meaning you can opt for your child(ren) to attend a different school if they have open slots outside of the Davis-Monthan AFB neighborhood schools.
