Tinker Air Force Base (AFB) Housing and Information:

Location:  Tinker Air Force Base and the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center are located in the "Heart of Oklahoma", just five miles from downtown Oklahoma City (OKC). The OKC Metro area is a very military- friendly area. 

Cost of Living: Compared to the rest of the country, Oklahoma's cost of living is 14.10% lower than the U.S. average.

Base Operator: There is no Tinker AFB Base Operator. Visit the electronic phone book.

Area Population:  Oklahoma City Metro: 1,296,565

Schools:  Tinker AFB is situated in the Mid-Del School District. Residents living on the installation will attend:

-Tinker Elementary (grades PreK-5)
-Jarman Middle School (grades 6-8)
-Midwest City High School (grades 9-12)

There are no schools on the installation; however, Tinker Elementary is located just outside the gates.

Housing:  Privatized family housing, managed by Balfour Beatty Communities, includes 654 homes in four distinctive neighborhoods. Units include 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes. Wait times vary depending on availability, average wait time is 6-9 months. Call the Tinker Housing Office at 405-734-7350, DSN 312-884-7350.
