With two, newly renovated floors of activities for children, all ages will enjoy the hands-on museum. Children's museums are not your typical museums. Norfolk Botanical Garden When looking for a fun family friendly activity in Norfolk, I highly recommend the Norfolk Botanical Garden. The garden is hidden next to the Norfolk Airport off Azalea Garden Rd. Celebrating it's 75th year, the Norfolk Botanical Garden is a non-profit museum for plants. It's a medium-sized waterpark a couple of miles away from the Oceanfront, and within a mile from the Virginia Beach Aquarium . Virginia Zoo in Norfolk The Virginia Zoo in Norfolk is a 53-acre zoo located adjacent to Lafayette Park in Norfolk, Virginia. The zoo opened in 1900, and was accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums in 1987.
