Must Love Dogs I love my dogs Aspen Raine a Gold Retriever Mix and Roman Ulysess a Siberian Husky. They complete our home. The best thing about moving to Pensacola is there are some pretty great places you can take your pet for some fun recreation. Most of the city is very pet friendly and I have found some great dog parks in Pensacola that I'd like to share. 1. Dog Park at Lake Frederic on NAS Pensacola (East of Sherman Marina) Free easy access dog beach. It’s been litter free every time I’ve visited. The parking can be difficult when it’s a busy weekend. Small Business Spotlight: Luster Salon , an outstanding salonin Clarksville, TN In my short time as a Military Spouse, I have quickly come to realize that one of the hardest parts of PCS’ing to a new duty station is searching for service providers you can trust, and in this instance- a good salon in Clarksville . Omaha continues to be ranked number one on multiple “Best Places to Raise your Family” lists and I can definitely see why. There are many places to get out as a family, but here are some of our favorites. Family Friendly Activitiesin Omaha 1. Oma... read more
I love nothing more than going to the thrift store and finding something awesome. One of my most recent finds was an ugly, gaudy gold peacock set. I took it home spray painted and they look fabulous in my Peacock themed room. (see photo below) Thrift stores are hit and miss, so please don’t get discouraged. Check off season for clothing. If you need jeans or work dress pants Summer is the season to get them. If you’re looking for shorts or tank tops try in October through February. I recently found a great thrift store in Pensacola, but the good news is they have locations all over the Florid... read more
If you find yourself stationed in or around Washington DC you'll realize that shopping here is a little different than other duty stations. Usually where we are stationed we have several malls, strip malls with tons of shopping, and all of this is easily and quickly accessible. That's not exactly true for Washington DC. Spread Out is the name of the shopping game here! It all depends on what type of experience you are looking for and be prepared to drive on a beltway or two to get to most of the shopping in DC. The great news is that just about everything you are looking for can be found some... read more
