Frog Hollow Tavern 1

We've lived here for 2 years and have had yet to visit Frog Hollow. I made a reservation for our anniversary and was excited to finally check it out. Unfortunately, I was beyond disappointed. We had a reservation for over a month. The receptionist was extremely rude, both when calling to confirm and when seating us. Our waitress was friendly, but my $10 cocktail was mostly ice. The Mac and cheese was delicious, but once again, extremely small portion size. We ordered our entrees almost immediately when we got there at 7 because we were starving. It was close to 8:30 by the time we got our food. I ordered the angus steak medium. The outside was practically burned it was so charred and the inside was bloody. My husband, who usually orders medium rare, even remarked how undercooked the middle was. I didn't send it back because I didn't want the outside to be more burnt tasting. One of the worst steaks I've ever had and definitely not worth $30. My husband's pork chop was good. I'm not sure why this place has so many rave reviews. Maybe because there's a lack of "fine" dining in Augusta? I've definitely been to places that taste much better for about the same price in the area. I definitely won't be returning here. Just disappointed our special anniversary dinner can't be relived.
