Finch and Fifth 1

We have heard so many wonderful things about this place, but were so disappointed and will not return. My mother and I ate lunch here while she is in town visiting from Oklahoma.

We were seated promptly by David, who was our server. It took him quite awhile to take our drink order, and even longer to come back to get our food order. We also were never offered refills and had to flag him down to ask for one, even though there were only two other people in the restaurant who were being waited on by someone else.

All of the above would have been completely acceptable, as I realize how everyone has off days. But, the manner in which our food was delivered was a little unbelievable. I ordered the crabcake Caesar salad, which was okay. My mom ordered the grilled chicken salad. When they brought out her salad, however, David told us "the chicken isn't ready, so I'll bring it out to you later". So, essentially, she just had a side salad. It was over 25 minutes later that he finally brought out a piece of grilled chicken, but at that point her salad was already gone. It was such a strange experience, and we couldn't believe such a highly rated place would think this was acceptable. I understand being busy or slow, but we would have preferred just to wait longer for our whole meal instead of having the chicken she wanted in the salad brought out so much later. There was no apology whatsoever from the waiter; he just acted like this was totally normal. My mom only is able to visit about once a year, so we were both disappointed we had such a strange experience on our special day together.

This all aside, the $13 salads weren't that great, even if the chicken would have come out with the "GRILLED CHICKEN SALAD". In addition, I emailed the manager about this situation and he couldn't even be bothered to send a response, which is highly unprofessional. We have told all of our friends and coworkers not to come here.
