"Berkeley Manor"

Coming from an overseas move from Okinawa, it seemed like the best idea to give us time to look for a permanent home. I regret this decision since the neighborhood has been plagued with break ins and thieves with guns on the loose. In addition, housing is a hit or miss when it comes to monthly repairs. Lawns are unkept along with parks that are full of garbage and a true eye sore. Most parks in other housing areas have fencing around them so I guess we're the lucky ones but still avoid them altogether. Although management is quick to respond to issues, they often times find a quick fix versus a permanent fix. Some housing areas offer incentives which turn out to be spent on repairs housing will not fix fast enough. I would look elsewhere and avoid this former toxic water housing site. Jan/2021

"Single Family Brick Rancher"

While the homes in Berkley Manor have had minor additions to bring them up to par, they are not the nicest homes available. The rental agency (AMCC) running the homes is clueless. Recently, Berkley Manor was split to make room for the NCO's on base since SNCO's were buying out in town. NCO's take up much more of base housing and have been getting the new construction homes with fenced in backyards while SNCO's get older homes from the 1950's needing an interior overhaul. The hardwood floors are not maintained very well by AMCC and the kitchen leave a lot to be desired. Yards as not fenced in but fences can be rented or purchased as long as they are removed upon departure. I have heard the Community Center Pool has lifeguards but they rarely pay attention and there have been several "accidents" from younger children causing the pool to be closed.
