Beautiful uncrowded beaches, quiet, housing right on the beach, inexpensive, not touristy. One of the best surfing beaches in the world, Friendly, Quiet, small town life.

  • Recommendations: Most of Oahu is so crowded with tourists, with heavy traffic and very expensive. This part of the island is just the opposite and is the way Waikiki was 75 years ago..

"Far, But Pretty!"

Makaha is far from just about everything, BUT it's absolutely gorgeous. If you're looking to integrate yourself with the local Hawaiian culture, this is where to go. It's not always deemed the safest part of town, but it's worth the drive just to see the untouched beaches of the west side.
