"North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain"

This area has the BEST schools in the state of Lousiana. Many military families live up on North Shore. North Shore is located on the North side of Lake Pontchartrain. When people refer to North Shore they are referring to the areas of Mandeville, Slidell, Madisonville, Covington and other surrounding areas north of the lake. The pros are the schools and safety and the cons are the commute if you have to go to NAS JRB New Orleans in Belle Chasse. It can take over 45 minutes. Also, housing prices can be expensive because the good school system.
