"North Shore = Best Schools"

Madeville is located on the NorthShore of Lake Pontchartrain. We chose to live in Mandeville because it has the best public schools in ALL of LA. It is very safe and the schools are awesome. It feels like a family-oriented "small" town. The only downside to living on North Shore is the commute if you have to go to NAS JRB New Orleans, it's about a 45 min+ commute.

I recommend people who are stationed at Stennis to live in Mandeville. It is about 30 minute commute but very worth it. The schools are some of the best in the state. It safe, pretty and right next to Lake Ponchartrain.

Loved living in Mandeville when stationed at Stennis. My husband was part of a commuter van that traveled from Mandeville to Stennis. The schools are great but not as much extra curricular activities as I had hoped. However, my daughter is ahead of her class when we moved to California so I would say the schools did their job.
