"Virginia Beach, Virginia"

My family and I lived in Virginia Beach and I loved it. During the summer weekdays, the beach is pretty low key. It is a great time to take the kids and really enjoy it. During the summer weekends most people travel there from all over Virginia so it is more congested and more of a party scene. There is tons of retail shopping to do in that area. My favorite store was going to Marshalls, where you can find high end or name brand products for a discounted price. It is the perfect one shop store for all your needs, home, school supplies, clothes, toys, etc. I loved shopping at the military commissary in that area but my favorite grocery store in the area was the whole foods market. That store is so nice to look in and they have the freshest produce and just a huge selection of everything you need. There is also a go carting park to go to with the kids in the area which was nice. Virginia Beach is a wonderful place to experience.

"Virginia Beach Living"

I'd recommend living in this area for a good family oriented and safe neighborhood. I loved living in Virginia Beach when my husband was stationed there. The only downfall is price of living is quite a bit more for this area. There Oceanfront has an array of activities for everyone and is family friendly. Every weekend there was something fun to do especially being so close to the beaches.

"Touristy Area"

It's very touristy so I wouldn't live right next to the Oceanfront. If you get a few blocks off then it gets quieter and nice areas. The oceanfront is aligned to good schools.

"Social Area"

The Ocean Front is a great place to live especially if you are social, love the beach and enjoy a good night life. The boardwalk is full of restaurants and bars, not to mention a great bike path to get you home on the nights where you've had a few too many ;) The beach is great but full of tourists in the summer. I would recommend living near the ocean front if you are looking for a great night life that is within walking distance to your home. It's a great spot if you enjoy the beach and it's extremely close to Dam Neck and Oceana bases.

"Touristy and not a neighborhood feel"

I wouldn't live near this area because it Sometimes gets a little rough at nighttime. The areas are aligned to good schools but it can be really touristy. I recommend either living on the North End (30th streets and higher) or Shadowlawn, Salt Marsh Point, Croatan area.
