"Spenard Housing Area in Anchorage"

I lived on Barbara Drive off Spenard Road right next to the Harley Davidson shop and Gwennies. I would NOT recommend this area to service members as it is a higher crime area. It is located in a convenient location to get to base and to everywhere in Anchorage. The houses are also at lower prices than the rest of Anchorage. However, I do not think it is a very family friendly area, I would not let my kids play in the neighborhood without supervision.
