"Nice small town vibe"

If you're looking for a nice walkable small town, with quaint "village" feel to it, Los Alamos is the place to be.

Several nice wineries nearby for wine tastings, and bike rides through small roads. Several small boutique-style shops in town as well, that focus more on artisenal offerings, versus your big box stores.

You'll definitely get the feeling of "escaping it all" by living in Los Alamos, but the drawback is commute to Vandenberg, and the village isn't close to big-box style places. Which might be what you want - but something to consider.

Pros Cons
  1. Quaint & charming
  2. Small town feel
  1. Commute to base won't be the quickest
  2. Not close to "big box" stores
