"Mold"

The Freedom sound neighborhoid is too close together. No privacy. Neighbors are loud and disrespectful of space. Lawn service sprays pesticides and messes up your plants. Sand fleas make going into the yard impossible. Dogs poop everywhere.

Pros Cons
  1. Access to base
  2. Gated
  1. Noisy siren system and jets
  2. Burning wood piles
  3. Toxic water
  4. Toxic neighbors

"Ghetto"

Everything about this housing area is ghetto. The brick houses built in the 70's are covered in mold. Freedom Sound is filled with close neighbors that burn treated wood every other day and smoke. Housing does nothing with mold complaints and try to gaslight you about your ability to smell. Also the constant sounds of close flying jets and an alarm system style siren every other day is basically a nightmare. Find a place on lady's Island or far from Beaufort. This place is a crazy making machine.

  1. None
  1. Do not recommend

"I lived there"

We lived in Laurel Bay while we were in the Marine Corps. At the time all the houses were military housing and very well kept and very clean. I understand that the military only has a few homes they use in Laurel Bay. I visited a few years ago and could not believe what I saw. Homes with old sofas in the carport, screened porches with screen flying in the wind, garbage in yards and very unkept yards. If the home you are living in is dirty then I am sure it is not a military cared for home. Take pride in your home and help keep it over your head. I always felt my home was safe in all ways.

Pros Cons
  1. Changed over time

  1. Far from shopping, food
  2. Houses are unsafe to live in, breaking down, dirty

  4. Management company is rude and con artists. Do not trust anything they say
