"Good access"

Mesquite hills is far from many things but has good access to all. If there is a crash on 54 you can take chaffee to get to post. If you're going west you can take 375 or Anthony gap. It is a safe neighborhood that is around a 25 min drive to anything important in town. If you like being out of the traffic of town this is the neighborhood for you. When I left they did just open a small strip with Marshalls, Petco, dollar tree and rue 21.

"Desert"

Northeast El Paso is one of El Paso's gems. The Mesquite Hills community rises out of the desert as a cozy, serene community, nestled between the Patriot Freeway (US 54) and Dyer Street, with easy access to Ft. Bliss and Loop 375. Being almost at the edge of Texas, it is far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city to enjoy spectacular, starlit nights, yet close enough to be just minutes from shopping, entertainment such as minor league baseball, and restaurants. Amenities in Mesquite Hills include a neighborhood park, and a great view of the Franklin Mountains just to the north. A jogging trail is presently being developed and landscaped and a new school is in its planning stages. Mesquite Hills Drive has been recently extended for a quick, direct connection to the Patriot Freeway (US 54). Come see why so many smart buyers have chosen to call the Mesquite Hills community home!

"Typical El Paso Neighborhood"

Mesquite Hills is a fairly new neighborhood in the far northeast of El Paso--we are only a couple of miles from the NM border. The houses here are mostly stucco, a few have some brick or stonework. They range from about $100,000-$150,000 and are 3 to 4 bedrooms. The lots are standard-size, which in El Paso, means small. But we have a backyard, and all houses have rock walls around the backyards. There are a few nice playgrounds in the neighborhood. Several neighbors are military, both officer and enlisted, and seem friendly but don't socialize much. The only drawback to this neighborhood is its distance from good shopping and food. The Northeast is growing, so we are starting to get a few good restaurants (like Ardovino's pizza!), but the only places to shop nearby are a crowded Walmart, Albertsons (a small grocery store), and Lowes. It takes about 20 minutes to get to Biggs AAF on East Bliss, and about 25 minutes to get to main Bliss where the commissary and PX are located.

Pros Cons
  1. New neighborhood
  2. Quiet, not too much traffic
  1. Distance from shopping and restaurants
