"Always fun, safe and social"

We have lived in Old Beach, the North End and now Croatan during our 12+ years of military bouncing around....survey says Croatan is the best neighborhood to live in near the VB Oceanfront! There is one way in, and one way out...it doesn't get much safer for families. It is not a gated community and it does have public beach access, but it remains safe for adults to walk dogs, or for kids to play hide-and-seek both day and night. It's common to see kids cruising around on scooters, bike and skateboards or to be playing soccer in front yards.
Croatan is a super social place to live-think community holiday & TGIF parties. Active duty and retired military families live here, along with local professionals. It's proximity to NAS Oceana and Dam Neck make it convenient and getting to 264 is pretty close, too. We love that Croatan is out of the sometimes chaotic Boardwalk area, but it's just a bike ride over Rudee Inlet and you're at the 5th street playground, or bars and restaurants.
