Thoroughgood: Off Base Neighborhood/Subdivision

I have a ton of friends who live in Thoroughood. It has a great elementary school just outside the neighborhood. The neighborhood is older ranch style homes, but it has a very nice neighborhood feel. If there is a home available in this area, definitely look at it!

This is a great neighborhood centrally located. Close to the beach without beach prices. The school system is really good here too. You are close to Little Creek Base, Norfolk Base, not too far from Oceana. You are close to town center for restaurants and shops. I highly recommend living here. The trees are mature and some houses have docks with deep water access. Its an older mature neighborhood with all different kinds of families. Some have kids, some are older and some are empty nesters. Love living here!

We loved being close to the bay, the Bayside Recreation center, the Bayside Park (close enough to ride your bikes), close to Little Creek and you are able to drive to all bases without driving over a bridge or through a tunnel. There is a great elementary school in the neighborhood. And close to shopping, restaurants, and speciality shopes! We would like to retire in this area.
