Jamestown Crescent: Off Base Neighborhood/Subdivision

Review

"Safe and Family friendly neihgborhoods"

I was born and raised in Norfolk and there are definitely wonderful neighborhoods and sketchy neighborhoods! I would recommend living in Colonial Place, Ghent, West Ghent, anywhere near Jamestown Crescent or homes near Old Dominion that are on the water side of Hampton Blvd. These homes are probably more affordable for officers or higher ranking enlisted. Another good neighborhood and slightly cheaper is right across the street as well as behind Granby High School on Granby Street. These neighborhoods are very classy, schools are great, and you are in the heart of Norfolk.
When looking for homes/rentals, you may see a lot of nice looking homes on the internet that are in Ocean View. Unless the home is located in a neighborhood called Pinewell, I would stay away! The house may be nice and big, but Ocean View can be sketchy.
