This is probably the best public High School in Anchorage hands down. I was skeptical when I visited the first time, but the school is so clean, neat, kept up, and orderly. Its like Japan in there. Everything is very polished.
The teachers and faculty are all very responsive to my questions and concerns. Even though most of the teachers are openly liberal, I cant take too much issue with them because its clear to me that they are very professional, trained, dedicated to students well-being.
The JROTC program has been amazing for my student. I cant say enough nice things about the JROTC instructors. They run a top notch program and I feel really blessed that my student gets to be part of it.

Failing my child never called me and after I called continues to not reach out I might as well quit my job and be the teacher curious at what we are paying for over 75% of taxes going to the school FOR NOTHING!!!

I hate this school the only reason why I havent left for service yet is because the JROTC program is amazing and a couple of the teachers are nice and the counselors are very friendly

South High is an outstanding comprehensive public high school. The educators are professional and dedicated, and students are well prepared for further education and life.

great school.great athletics and academics.THEY DONT LET YOU FALL THROUGH THE CRACKS!!!!!!many choices.student body is warm and inviting!!!few cliques.great teachers all around fantastic school.go there!!!!

I absolutly love South High School!! My oldest daughter is a sophmore now and she is in all honors classes and is doing great!!!! Her and her friends go to math support for lunch which is really making her grades stand out. She plays lots of sports there and it has given her so many great opportunities!!!!Shes also in many clubs and enjoys them all!!!The choices were between south,dimond,and service but she wanted south and i wanted service and we ruled out dimond after much thought because of the things we have heard about the student body and some of the teachers are very peculiar.....but anyways i figured what the heck?!?!and let her try it out and it has been great!!!!!!you have to let your children go here!!!Its beautiful and worth while:) best decision i have ever let my daughter make!!im sending my other daughter and son there no doubt!!!!
