this school is horrible. you cant even wear head bands and chains bc they are gonna take it. and you can only bring 3 snacks to school or else they are gonna take them. we cant wear the jackets we want to wear. we cant even wear our jackets outside, even when its cold outside. the teachers are horrible they dont teach anything all they do is sit on their phone and get involved in the kids messiness. its constant fights and the school is so dirty and all the staff and police officers are just so mean and disrespectful. and the teachers fail the students. do NOT let your child go to this school it is so bad please attend them to a different school.

Academics:
-We are unable to learn, and the administration blames it on us. The teachers continuously quit and so we are left with substitutes who have no clue about the subject. The teachers we do have don't teach, and they yell at us for not being aware of things we are not taught. We are then given videos that have no correlation to the subject matter. Later we are given tests where we have no clue what is on there, so most students fail, or resort to other students which makes them more stressed than they already are. If we get books, they are very outdated and falling apart, to the point where they are not even accurate anymore.
Environment:
-The environment is also awful. The classrooms are severely outdated, to the point where it is making kids sick. There are holes in the walls and paint is chipping off. The technology is outdated and/or does not work, they have a team of students who help people with technology and it is stressful. There are drawings on the walls and doors. In the bathroom, stalls are so short you can see over them, and students do. When you stand up, your entire head, and part of your torso, is above the stall. There is a bug infestation as we constantly find dead and alive bugs in the halls and the classroom. The air conditioning is broken, so it is either way too cold in the winter, or way too hot in the spring and summer months.
Bullying:
-Kids constantly bully others and nothing is done about it. Kids might get suspended if it gets violent but otherwise no effort is made. It has gotten to the point where if you have a different opinion, you get beaten up. Then everyone gets suspended, not just the bullies.
Administration & Security:
-Administration is awful, they yell at us and confiscate things that are not against the rules, like jackets. They threaten to suspend us because someone else is being disobedient. Security is also awful minus about 3 people. They pat us down, make us take our shoes and jackets off, sometimes they throw it around enough that it is damaged or broken. They confiscate anything that is open, personal care items, phones, markers, watches, headphones, airpods, etc. When we get them back they are lost, broken, damaged, or refused to be returned.
Final Statements:
All aspects of this school are awful. This is not a good place to send your child. So please, do not send your child to this school if you care about their well-being.

Since I'm in my last year I'ma just get is straight to the point. This school is terrible. The people who checks bags and purses are aggressive with our belongings to where I have a broken phone, you cant have gum, candy or, perfume, anything of that sort (not even Vaseline). They will take your snacks if they're open You have to HIDE stuff that you shouldn't have to hide in order for it not to get thrown away. The security guards are disrespectful (about 3 of them are nice). They confiscate hair scarves, jackets, or anything like that. The teachers are very harsh and mean but want to play victim when a student gives them back the same energy that the teacher gave them. These teachers don't even really teach like that they think that the computer can break it down enough to where I can understand it. The gym is bad, the students find half-drank bottles/cans or food and throw it around the gym. The bathrooms are disgusting, students write disturbing and mean comments on the walls and once I seen feces spread on the wall. The office staff are something. When students fight they don't want to hear what happened and just so ready to suspend a child. They always have an attitude when I speak to them calmly. The students are mean and violent(not all of them). They never want to do work or anything. I feel like the yondr pouches dont help. Students break and beat on the yondr pouches and get upset when they get their phone confiscated or when they have to buy a new pouch to a point where they steal other student's pouch. Sometimes they don't hold the right person accountable for their actions like my friend got 4 days and the girl she fought 2, when it was initially the girl's fault. The pages. Some students make social media pages to make fun of other students and staff. The classrooms. The classrooms are literally falling apart, sometimes there will be roaches or other bugs crawling around and dead ones just laying there. Sometimes one of the assistant principals said "this is why no one wants to teach you". I think that the staff thinks that we can say whatever we want to this student. So in conclusion DONT HAVE YOUR CHILD GO HERE

Terrible place of learning. Rampant bullying, lack of accountability, dirty bathrooms/school grounds and unprofessional staff make this a horrible school to ask anyone to attend.

MPS needs to shut this place down and fire everyone here especially guidance counselors and principals. If you call the school, someone will answer the phone. You will then get transferred to a phone that won't get answered, which forces you to leave a voice-mail and your call will never get returned. They do not care about students or the parent-teacher relationship.

I will be filng a complaint with the school board, this is ridiculous.

If you care about your kids at all, do not send them here, especially if they arent a minority. They will get teased and bullied endlessly by kids who run around in a fake gang and the school will act like they take it seriously but in reality they couldnt stop it. Get them in a magnet school, a private school or just leave the district. We just moved out of the district because of bullying and being unable to reach guidance counselors/principals when they are actually needed to make a report.

This place deserves to be shut down, period. Just look at the mediocre test scores, this place is failing at educating our youth.

Okay so since Im going off for high school Ill like to leave a review here. I would not recommend this school. They confiscate your snacks/food items at the entrance if its not put in a lunchbox.. No book bags are allowed because someone brought a weapon to school. They do cell phone checks, so make sure to put your phone in your locker, but they only checked my classroom only once. Also we cant talk at lunch because we are loud. If you get caught talking at lunch, you get detention/iss from it. Also we go on lockdowns a lot, soft lockdowns. Apparently most of the time soft lockdowns are called to clear the hallways if theres a lot of students in the hallway. We also have to wear jackets or sweaters (no hoods) that match our grade uniform color, I kinda wished they let us wear other colors but it be confiscated likely or they tell you to put it in the locker. But sometimes a Dean can yell in the hallway a lot like GET IN THE CLASSROOM something like that but it constantly irritating because it creates a unpleasant atmosphere or somewhat. But the good thing they sell snacks like cookies, chips, ice cream and have honor classes. Thats all I can say about this school. But if you have a child zoned for Goodwyn uh oh

This is an wonderful school The lunch is 7/10 most days , the principal OMG he's so nice , and the school is so bigg ! its just wonderful here .

This school is horrible. Consistent fights every day students being rude to teachers and disrupting the class. Teachers don't thoroughly explain the work because of kids getting in trouble. The facility never gives children serious consequences the school is unsanitary. Innaproite behavior from students as well as teachers acting childish. The teachers there curse at and to students sometimes put their hands on the kids. The teachers ignore kids when they are asking for help children barely receive help with homework and with little to no instructions on how to do the homework. There are serious cases of mental and physical bullying as well I don't recommend this school unless you want your child to be fearful and tramatized.

The staff is lazy, the kids fight all the time, the principal just screams in their face all the time with a megaphone. The staff is so lazy and nearly any of them have good lesson plans and they act like they can't put in grades or tell you what your grade is. Get better teachers!

The school is the worse in Montgomery. I send my grandchildren there and it's nothing but trouble. Fights they got em. Faculty members that don't have brains? they got them too. They should close this school DOWN. I keep my kids at home on sick days and then send the excuses I guess the teachers are throwing the the excuses away. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE

Community Service - Principal Bright, the PTSA, and the students at Goodwyn raised $600 in September for the The Muscular Dystrophy Association. They have an annual fundraiser (MDA Lock-Up) where representatives from community businesses, schools etc. are arrested and held in a "jail". In order to "post bail', they raise money for MDA!
