Given the level of services, I would not pay to send my child to Faith. The teachers are underqualified compared to Saraland, Satsuma, and Baldwin County teachers (probably because they barely pay a livable wage). Secondly, they have a history of hiring friends and family which leads to scandals such as the soccer coach scandal. The guidance counselor (part of a family who has sent at least 4 kids through Faith) who did not report the incident as a mandatory reporter and then had the audacity to appeal her sentence was never terminated by Faith which should be very concerning to prospective families. Athletes get coddled, families with money get coddled, and friends and family get coddled. Instead of throwing away money, go to church, then put your child in a better performing private school like St. Paul's or better yet, Saraland, Satsuma, Spanish Fort, Fairhope, or Daphne.

I have graduated from Faith academy in year of 2001. Dont ever let your child go to this school. The teachers are really nice once you get to know them really well. First, This school is just like the public schools has the popular groups and consider other students outsiders. Second, this school only looks up to two people first all the athletes, second the cheerleaders. When I was a student here I got picked on because I was a nerd not only that the students here will look down on you if you didnt have a car or girlfriend but that didnt bother me because I started going to college and worked up to where I am today. Its been 22 years since I have graduated from this school.

My grandson attended this school. They allowed him to show up for awards day and he was the only child who did not receive an award
He sat their while all the other students received an award. He cried because he said he was not smart enough but when I investigated, they said he did not receive one because he did not recite a scripture. Someone make that make sense ... I am currently not in the state of Mississippi. I would advise against sending any small child here ..

as someone who was expelled from faith academy. I have my opinions that I feel would help some families so they don't make the same mistake my parents did when my parents put me in this school.

I remember having the most horrible life there, they always targeted certain families that couldn't do certain things, and for other families would let anything slide. There are a few teachers there that ruined my life and unfortunately my sister has to deal with the worst of all of them. I will leave the teacher unnamed.

I feel like I'm better off right now in a public school then I was in faith because it was like prison in there. So many people were so unhappy and many teachers in my current school have heard horrible things about faith academy and feel bad I went there.

I think that certain people would like this school and certain people wouldn't. I might write more soon.

The lower school bathrooms are too few & at a distance that disrupts education. Founder director is punitive in approach. Great tension between Sunday School & K class using same rooms. Director management style is disrespectful, micromanagement, poor communicator & yelling @ employees.

Faith has no programs for those with autism spectrum disorder. Teachers are not as qualified as those at many of the Public schools like Saraland, Satsuma, Fairhope, Spanish Fort, and Daphne who all seem to have a higher standard for who they hire. I understand that going to a Christian school may be important but you could also go to church and not expect a school to make your kids behave and be good people. At Saraland you can graduate as an RN. Faith has also had negative publicity over the years. I decided to forgo enrolling my kids there due in part to suspect hiring practices. They have always baseball crazy. Baseball kids do get a better shake than other students and athletes. I have also heard rumors of other issues with teachers (Coaches in particular). I personally know one of them and said person shouldnt teach anyone or anything yet there they are at Faith amassing complaints of inappropriate behavior while Faith does nothing. Why go to a poor performing private school when you have three schools in Mobile and Baldwin that are too 10 in the state? (Saraland is the 4 best district in the state).

Take the other reviews how you will FA has been excellent in my opinion . Remember this is a private school they dont have too and will not put up with trouble students . Not all kids can handle the discipline and strict rules and that will reflect in others reviews the faculty has always been upfront and respectful the education my children have received has been great and have always felt the school takes care of the kids after school events are always peaceful and fun facilities are clean

We had 2 kids attending Faith since middle school/elementary school. Weve had second thoughts about our decision to remove them a few years ago, but as my daughter pointed out: the favoritism is still just as bad as it was when we left.
If your kid isnt a teachers kid or star athlete, they are not given the same attention or grace.
The real world is going to be a rude awakening for these kids who are coddled by the teachers and staff. You dont have to take my word for it; look at their pictures and yearbooks-its the same kids in all of the photos.
While other kids, like my daughter, who wasnt an athlete but will be a registered nurse this year, are treated completely different.
She will happily help any patient in the emergency room, as she should. But it will be ironic when the teachers from Faith show up and want special care knowing how they treated her (and our youngest) the whole time. We should have left years before we did.

The homework load given to students by the teachers at Faith Academy could be deemed cruel and unusual punishment. Teachers frequently give very heavy homework loads in an attempt to make up for their serious lack of understanding of the subject matter they are failing to teach.

The teachers at Faith Academy have proven time and time again to be sub-standard educators. Most of the faculty at the school are educated far below the academic standards of those found at truly unbiased, accredited schools and are ineffective as teachers. Faith generally hires faculty and staff that will further their sports programs rather than those who would be beneficial to students and learning.

This school claims to be a Christian school with higher values, but, at the end of the day, they are on business to make money. The faculty at this school promotes integrity and compassion only if such bestowings are aimed at those children who have been deemed popular. Unpopular children (those children who have a brain and have decided to think for themselves) are often ridiculed and bullied by popular children with absolutely no recourse from the staff at the school. The school will also not hesitate to expell students who they suspect are engaged in an alternative lifestyle based solely on the claims of the majority with no basis of fact or evidence whatsoever.

The leadership at Faith is a clique. Most of the leadership are related to one another, and they all tend to play favorites with both students and teachers. Many of the maintenance staff are scrutinized harshly while those members of faculty that are friends with the leadership get away with practically anything. The leadership also tend to favor children whose parents are wealthy or have made large financial contributions to the school allowing them to remain enrolled far after their behavior has warranted expulsion.

This school has policies on bullying that the staff blatantly disregard when they don't want to deal with it. As mentioned above, when "unpopular" students are bullied, teachers are very unlikely to do much about the problem especially if the student initiating the unsatisfactory behavior is one who has a parent who is financially supporting the school or its programs.

I was a student at Faith Academy from fourth grade all the way to high school graduation. While at Faith, I met some very good Christian people. I also met some people that have no business teaching children. In fourth grade, I went home more than once with fingernail prints in my right forearm from my science teacher who had a bit of a problem with her temper. The leadership at the school did nothing to correct the problem. I had unpleasant experiences all throughout my time at Faith dotted with brief, fleeting moments of pleasure and contentment. The bottom line is the bottom dollar at Faith Academy. My parents were not wealthy, so I was treated with a general lack of interest. It was at Faith Academy that I learned teachers are not special beings that are devoted to helping and bettering the lives of others...for the most part, they're just imperfect people trying to get by in a world driven by dollar signs. I cannot recommend sending a child to this school. Their education is lacking and their values are skewed. It has been 15 years since graduation, and I can assure you my 10 year old daughter will never set foot in the halls of Faith Academy. I will discourage anyone I can from making that mistake. Spare the sorrow of your children and avoid the hipocrisy that is Faith Academy.

There is always something going on for students and families at Faith. Like anywhere with children, there are a few who's behaviors are distracting, but overall my daughter has had lovely classmates and she has been recognized (more than once) for basically just being a good kid. Something that NEVER happened in public school. She is quiet, does what she is supposed to do, and in previous schools that was reason to look past her. Over the past few years at Faith, she has not been able to "hide." The teachers seek out ways to recognize her and pull her into conversations/activities. Faith has been a blessing for her in so many ways.

Bullying is everywhere that children encounter one another. I don't think that Faith is an exception, unfortunately. I do not think that there are school-wide, consistent procedures for handling bullying, so it seems to be left to individual teachers to determine. So, superstars do well...lesser teachers not so well.

We chose Faith, not because of a specific problem in the public school, but because we wanted our daughter raised in an environment where our Christian faith is more than "tolerated." It is encouraged, taught, and embraced. She is surrounded in prayer and Christian examples all day, every day. THAT is why we put her in Faith, everything else is just icing on top.

There is a lot of homework and as our child ages the amount has increased. A short review of each subject, each night, is necessary...hours of homework in lieu of evenings with the rest of the family is really not.

We moved our daughter moved from public school to Faith in 5th grade. It has been a wonderful decision for us. We noticed her slowly come out of her extremely quiet/shy bubble and over the years has gone from running away from all things extracurricular to asking to participate in MANY of Faith's after school activities. She is in high school now and we could not be happier with the confident young woman that she is growing into, which we believe is in no small part due to the compassionate teachers at Faith. I have read a lot of concerns about academics, but that has not been our experience. As with any school, your child will get out of school what they put into school. There are Honors classes beginning as early as 7th grade, and AP classes as well as Dual Enrollment opportunities in High School, just like public schools.

On one hand, I appreciate that it is a Christian school and the Bible is taught but, on the other hand, there are hypocrites. Don't try to think outside of the box, because you will be pushed back into it!

They give substantial punishments for seemingly modest behavior. There is hardly any freedom to be social in school, even for high schoolers.

My child was actually bullied by the "band director." The guy is a joke! There were also several times where my child was embarrassed by teachers because of asking questions, which is completely inappropriate.

The school does not stack up to other schools in the area, both private and public schools, when it comes to academics. They need to focus a lot more on academics and not so much on sports (baseball). They should invest in more teachers and not more sports programs, sports equipment and sports facilities.

oversized classrooms, a lot of scholarship students who get everything free while they hound those of us who paid full price tuition. my son forgot his spoon in his lunchbox and his report card was held until .10 was paid! horrible experience along with many more in the community! MONEY HOUNDERS!

If you are concerned with your child academically or socially, pass this school and go down the road. My daughter was at this place 5 year and I noticed she was not receiving the education her peers were experiencing in their schools.She was very outgoing and we noticed when she was around her friends from church/extracurricular activities she appeared insecure and quiet. Her peers shared their technology labs, science labs, great lunches and we realized Faith was not where she needed to be.The teacher ratio should be against the law at this school! The teachers are overworked. Scholarship students are disruptive!Principals allow them to bully other students because the school receives funds from the State for scholarship student enrolled. The books are old and have been passed down since my nephew attend school in the 90's. My wife has helped teachers staple, tape and glue the books but ALL elementary have to pay a $350 nonrefundable book fee. who's filling their pocket with all of the money from book fees,the athletics dept? Money is definitely not being used in the classroom for the students.Maybe the new high school weight room for the coaches and athletes.My wife bought supplies for the classroom because the teachers have no means to purchase supplies; although once a week a tshirt order or a fund raiser/ donation form is sent home or requested on social media.Parents are paying to fund athletes.Other schools use funds for technology labs, science labs, nutritious meals. She was not on her grade level when she transferred OUT, but caught up now. We do NOT have a FUND RAISER in the bag everyday, OR someone hounding FOR DONATIONS on social media, all books are new, lunches are nutritious, teachers are not OVERWORKED because of so many students and they have means to teach. My colleagues who attended Faith when asked have said, it was a good school, but when the high school and element principal left it became a hostile environment for teachers and students. They also got their children out. The 5 star reviews on any website are because t a few chosen parents are ask to post a positive review for the school. I did one the 1st year I was ask to do one but thought I should post the outcome for us. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY or EXPOSE YOUR CHILD TO BE IN A ENVIROMENT THAT EFFECTS THEIR CONFIDENCE-SHOULD BE FA PUBLIC SCHOOL.

it's not the same school it once was when I attended. It has turn to a business that uses the Lords name to benefit financially. Teachers are overworked not like the old days with the old principals and a small Christian school that wanted the best for students.

I agree with others who have posted comments, students are stuffed in classrooms and have no freedom to talk or express their thoughts. I brought my son lunch last year and when I walked in the café it was silent. The kids could not talk at lunch, in the class, or in the hall.

I went to this school 8 years and was not ready for college. The new counselor did not help us at all. She was never in her office and she did everything but counsel. My sister graduated in 2008 and the counselor who was there then was very helpful. The school is a lot different then when we first started. I do not suggest this school to anybody looking for a school for there kids. It is a very hypocritical place and when you leave you see how bad it really is.

Bullying is a very big problem at this school. Teachers and principal turn heads because they don't want to handle it and if a student tells a teacher or principal they expose the student and it makes it bad for the student.

My children have attended Faith Academy for 10 years. The quality education, Christian environment, and loving staff have exceeded our expectations. The school provides plenty of extracurricular activities for kids of all ages and interests along with opportunity in honor classes. In addition, my relationship with parents is more like family than friends.

Former student and now parent. I love the faculty and the welcoming atmosphere. My daughter is in k3 and in just one semester I have seen such a huge transformation in her in that short amount of time. I knew Faith was the right place for my child because God's word is incorporated into every learning activity and that was so important to me. So many of the same staff members that taught and encouraged me are still there today. How blessed am I that I will have such wonderful followers of Christ helping me to shape my daughter into the woman she will grow up to be?

Was not a good school during my experience. The people and teachers are good but don't let everyone fool you. Racism is pretty common here also. Lunch is bad and overpriced. Too much focusing on sports and not enough on education. Overall it's not a bad school, but there could be some things that could be worked on.

I attended attended Faith Academy and graduated from the school. The one thing I have to tell parents from my experience as a student is that this school does not focus on education. When I went to college, one of the first things I noticed was that my peers who went to public schools from all over the Southeast had a better high school education than I did. They were 1 -2 semesters ahead of me and it was all because their curriculum was better quality than Faith Academy's. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA and was 9th in my class; however, I found it very difficult to get scholarships to academically acclaimed universities. I understand this is a Christian school; however, they put too much focus on education of the Bible rather than the education students need to be successful in college and in their future careers. Do not waste your money on this school. Your child will get a better education and will have more opportunities provided to them elsewhere.

My child attended Faith Academy for the last three years. This year we decided to put my child back into the public school system. At our child's new school, the first thing we noticed was the class size was smaller, there are 17 children per teacher. Then the real shocker was just how far behind the other students he was (elementary school). His reading was above average, but his math was lacking way behind. We were able to get him back up to speed with the rest of his class, but that was no easy task, additionally his science grades were lacking too, again with some work he is at his grade level (AB honor student). I am not here to put down FA, the teachers and staff were great to my child, we felt that the school was clean and well kept, but FA falls short with the most important task, that is education. I was paying for this school thinking that I was getting something "special" for my money, I was wrong, the local public elementary school is far better, the public schools have things like "Smart" boards in the classrooms, smaller teacher to student ratios, the same level of discipline as FA , an actual lunch program for the children.FA has microwave food and vending machines.

I went to faith 3 years ago because it has a Christian environment, great test scores from their past senior classes and a strong boys basketball program which is important to my son. The boys basketball team has been great for my son coming from a public middle school. They are taught to work hard and be disciplined. By what I can observe they are the best basketball program in Mobile overall. Academics are good but like all schools have good, average and below avg teachers. The teachers have free tutoring after school which has helped alot. As a black family we have felt welcomed and never treated any different than anyone else. For the money the good far outweighs any negatives. To me the negatives are too much homework (3 hours a night on average), poor menu for lunches (all junk food, fried foods), class size is sometimes an issue and not enough "fun" activities for students like a prom.

My child attends Faith Academy and the only real complaint I have is the lack of nutritious options for the lunch menu. Giving the students sodas, ice cream, chips, cookies, cheeseburger, and FF for lunch is really like killing them slowly. It's ridiculous in this day and age with all we know about what those things do to you in the long term to offer that to growing children every single day as the only option for lunch. It's really embarrassing.

my son has attended faith for 2 years and we love this school. we are transferring this summer and my husband and i both agree the one thing we will miss about mobile is faith academy. both years his teachers have been great. very caring and understand- yet firm enough with their discipline to keep the classes running smoothly. we have really enjoyed our experience here and would recommend faith academy to anyone looking for a great, affordable private education.

Preschool program is fine. Kindergarten on up, reconsider the curriculum. My child attended kindergarten here and transferred to public school for first grade. Th kindergarten student/teacher ratio in public school is smaller and the curriculum is of a higher standard. My second child attended kindergarten in the public school and could write a 4 sentence paragraph by the 4th quarter of school. If higher academic standards is what you are seeking, look elsewhere, otherwise it's a good school. I wish I would have researched curriculum before enrolling my child.
