We have been part of the TNS community for almost 4 years now. My children started in the ECE program and have now grown into the lower school. It is amazing to see and experience the genuine care and excitement the faculty and staff have for my children, no - for ALL the children. I am talking from the Head of School to the maintenance staff. The cafeteria staff through the general day to day administration staff who wouldnt normally know our children. This place knows their names, knows their ongoings and knows their hearts!
During this crazy time of uncertainty, not once have I had to question if they are placing the children first. Not once have I had to question a decision being made concerning my childrens safety or the staffs safety. They have thought of everything to care for the whole child... General health screenings, sanitizing, social distancing, safe nutrition and mental well being are all being cared for.
YES, we pay tuition, however there are substantial opportunities for scholarships to assist were needed. The bus provided for Benton county families is a great help and before and after school care for working families, such as ours, has been a great relief.

Overall, I have found this school to be more compassionate with learning difference kids, but there doesn't seem to be any specialists that work there for the purpose of special needs. You would need to get some outside help.

The teachers use "conscious discipline" which is how I parent at home. Allowing the kids to become aware of the behavior rather than just assigning a "punishment".

They allow time to complete work at school.

Much more nurturing and better relationships with the children. The children feel known here.

The school uses a "conscious discipline" approach which is consistent with my parenting at home. Children are allowed to make mistakes and learn from them.

The school has been going through a leadership change and had an interim head of school this year. A new head of school (with an excellent reputation) is starting the 2019/2020 year. Everyone is excited!

Overall, very positive. My son has some social delays but is a very bright and creative student who needs a lot of nurturing and positive encouragement. We started the school year at our local public school, and it was NOT a good fit for him. Once he switched to this school, his anxiety levels went down and he just feels more free to be himself at New School. I can see the difference in his happiness!

My two children have been at The New School since 2012 and we absolutely love it. We initially chose TNS for its small class size (maximum of 18 kids per class), and have continued to love the individual attention that each of our children get. It has made a huge impact on their engagement and interest in their education. TNS focuses on the development of the whole child, and has amazing extracurricular offerings. My kids have taken guitar and ukulele lessons (my son is in a 6th grade rock band), art classes, and Lego Robotics as part of the school's after-school offerings. And now that my kids are older (middle and high school), they are involved in some of the many sports offered, including the Mountain Bike team.
The teachers and administrators at TNS truly care about my children and provide an extraordinary educational experience for them. And now that TNS has a high school, we will be staying for the duration!

The leadership at The New School has a vision and plan for today, but more importantly for the future. Among the best leaders I have seen in a school environment.

The teachers at The New School are the best! They provide that special one-on-one attention that each child needs. They know how to get the best out of my son and how to nurture his learning. They provide a curiosity and creative atmosphere for learning. They make it fun!

The New School focuses on doing most of their homework before they come home. There are caring teachers and assistants who will help them and provide that dedicated attention that a child needs to do their homework. When he comes home, he is all mine!

My son loves the New School and so do I. When kids don't want to leave, I believe that sends a strong message about the quality of learning and care received. I love the focus on academic excellence, while infusing a sense of community, strong social skills and a want and desire to learn. They focus on the complete child!!!
