I was excited about this school after reading reviews but was soon disappointed. The staff even at open house did not engage. Zero communication from any staff about drop off and pick-up until after the first 2 weeks resulting in absolute rudeness from staff in car line. This school has Pre-K and Elementary in the same building with 2 different principles. The 2 principals do not communicate with one another. On more than one occasion they could not locate my child. Worst experience. I am sure there are great teachers and staff who work hard at this school but unfortunately, I did not get to see any of the positives.

I love this school, my daughter started kinder here when Dr. Poage just started as principal at JTE too. Dr. Poage and all teachers are very dedicated, talented, and very caring for students. I love the atmosphere whenever I go to the school. My daughters loved their school and have always done great!

Teachers do an adequate job in classrooms because t hey have to many children that do not speak or read n write ENGLISH. This in turn slows other children down when there is SLAG time to get those kids up to speed. There should be separate classrooms for those that do not test at the proper level to give them satisfactory one-on-one training to get them at the proper level with the rest of their classmates so as to not hinder others learning abilities and capabilities to advance.

For working parents it is to much for the younger children because most parents do not have the time to do things that should have been done in class with supervision. Reviews for test or math worksheets and spelling is understandable but most parents mainly single ones are already spread thin. Parents/Grand-parents are not teachers we dont get paid or appreciated for our participation after our long day at work. So as for this home we feel the school is where schoolwork is done home is for chores and family time should be done. High School is different children are at the age they are accountable for their homework if they do not finish in class then thats their responsibility but to lay that heavy burden on the backs of K-6th grade is totally uncalled for especially when they are reprimanded for a parent that has not got the time to spend making sure the 5 year old is making their abc's correctly! Just a Grandmas opinion that has seen this first-hand!

Dr Sherman the Principal is very aving children of his own helps him to understand the frustrations of parents as well as the childrens needs of understanding when they have a difficult time not only at school but he genuinely cares about the homelife and how it can overflow into the school. They are firm in discipline and that is rare in most schools for fear of retribution but we appreciate their helping to raise respectful young children into becoming young adults that appreciate and respect authority.

The faculty at this school goes above and beyond to make sure the kids are learning and making great progress. They are concerned about children truly learning not just passing kids to a grade regardless if they can read or do math. Im thankful for the way they have taken my grandchildren to levels of excellence.
