The teachers and administration at Lowell are wonderful, they really care about making classrooms a safe and positive learning environment. My son had a hard time fitting in at first but because of it positive atmosphere and effort to eliminate bullying, he began to thrive and enjoys achieving in school. Majority of the kids are Hispanic and my son is white, so he had to earn his way into the cultural acceptance, but feels supported and has many friends thanks to the inclusive wrestling coach and his great program! There are plenty there are many offerings of sports teams, with volunteer coaches, but not a lot of extracurricular classes which I think is due to not a lot of parental support or funding. That is my only concern. Where is the Theater, language classes (Spanish for the gringos;) band, home ec, they do provide a lot of fun and educational field trips, however. It is an old historic school so it’s lacking in a bit of the modern amenities, but it’s beautiful and generally a positive atmosphere. My son did much better at the school then I expected!
