My child and other family members have attended or are currently students at Amphi Middle School. I have tried to be understanding of the overwhelming amount of students and situations the staff have to care for. There are teachers that truly want their students to succeed and staff that care about the safety of the students. In my experience, as a parent and an aunt, this school is still very lacking in the over all education and safety of the students. The dress code and PDA is not enforced. There is little to no consequences for bullying, inappropriate language, or online abuse. There are many physical altercations, that are not given strong enough disciplines. Although some staff seem to care, most seem indifferent towards the students behaviors, education, and safety.

Homework
This schools homework load is very light unless students fall behind.

*Teachers at this school are vary. Some care and try to relate to their students. Some teachers pick only certain students to believe in.

*This school to hold no individuals responsible for their actions. Some students, that are easier to teach and/or come from higher education households have less difficulties growing in this school environment. Unfortunately, most students do not follow dress codes, do not respect themselves/staff/or other students.

*Bullying among students during school, right after school, and online is unacceptable. The school leaders do try to get students to learn how to deal with conflict. Their efforts do not give consequences and bullying can become dangerous.

*The school communicates with parents through text, phone, email, and a parent app. Although communication about an individual student is rare, parents are fully informed about district matters.

If i felt this school was safe,I would recommend this school for a student that learns easily and has a educated family. If the school enforced all their rules and more teachers/staff paid more attention, maybe I could recommend this school. But I can't.

Due to a home situation my granddaughter was not learning the basic character building education. Now she has learned so much about having integrity, compassion, and respect for others. I credit this to her teacher in AVID.

I can't say enough about the good teachers who have built up the self-esteem in my grandchild. As well as given her a great learning experience.

The homework "load" is appropriate, and most can be completed before dinner is served.

My Granddaughter was in a very bad way as far as her home life when she went into 6th grade at Amphi Middle School. She joined AVID and enrolled in computer classes. too. She has found herself and she has thrived, now in the 7th grade she has made honor roll every report card. The support she has had from the teachers if phenomenal.

Due to the improvement of the school leadership at our campus, our focus is on strong academics rather than behavior. Our instruction is based on the Common Core Standards and we have very high expectations for our students. All schools deal with bullying and discipline, but AMS has seen far less of these issues and far more students success than ever before. Our school has changed so much. Before you judge us, please visit our campus and see how awesome we are!

This really isn't a good school at all. Or at least that's how it was when I went there. No rules, no dress code, the students are disrespectful, and no one does anything about it. In fact, the monitors at that school strived to be "cool." No one ever got in trouble for anything, and there was a huge problem with bullying that no one ever addressed. The kids are just wholly disrespectful, for the most part. Especially the 6th and 7th graders. I wouldn't recommend this school. Things might have changed since I went (I didn't graduate too long ago) but my experience there has tainted this review. I would say go to a different school, and preferably not a public school. I go to a private school now and nothing they taught me there helped me at all. They didn't even teach us how to use a computer, and people put so much emphasis I on technology these days. To keep this short, unless you must positively go here, pick a different school. You won't regret it. There is so much more I would like to say, but I cannot due to the character limit.

Hello, I was a student at Amphi Middle this year and I must say, in my opinion, this school lacks everthing it once had. Explaining to people that Im in Amphi was one thing, that got them started on, "Oh, I was in Amphi when I was your age! Great school!" Well, NO. Let's start with Excellent Teachers. No. Several teachers there were irritable/complaining about their job/life. It was very distracting. Principal/School Leadership was LACKED. It was LED by the students. And forbid a substitute teacher was in, the students became out of control and undisaplined. For the last, challenging academin programs, it's not a challenging school at all. Amphi focuses on the sports department instead of acadmic programs.
