This school is adequate representation of why the public school system is so low in Arizona. Some teachers and faculty have been there so long they are no longer effective. Scores have plummeted and it seems like no one cares. A principal that seemed like she could make a difference in this was chased out by a subset of parents that in no way represent how most of us think. My nephew who is in kindergarten at a charter school is able to read and write already while my child is barely at preschool standard. It is quite sad to see parents and teachers more focused on social aspects of the school rather than the academics of the children. We are moving my child in hopes that we can rectify how far behind they are after being here for kindergarten. I would think twice before placing my child here. Some parents and staff preach kindness as well as community but their actions are the opposite. School safety is also a concern especially in the after care program. Ratios are NOT followed and there is no standard. We gave public school a chance and have been very disheartened with this school. For those that disagree just look at stats, AZ ranks at 48-50th in public school education and TUSD itself ranks 11 out of 17 in the Tucson area. There are better options out there.

excellent Bilingual and extended day program. very caring and knowledgeable staff. my daughter will be back for her third year.

VERY, VERY scary for ANY child to attend this school. I was looking for a school to send my son and I wanted to go look around the school & try to get a tour, I finally found my way to the entrance parking & I ran into a young boy that was outside ALL ALONE, I passed by him and then went back asked what he was doing there & he said that he was fixing words on the sign, well I was there with him for as long as 40 minutes just to see if someone would come out & ask if HE was ok or what I needed, but NO ONE EVER came out, not even a monitor!! Very scary situation as the main road is right there where he was. Told him if I was a bad person, I could have taken him already & no one would have noticed him gone. This kid was sooo small that I covered him with my car, as it's small as well! I ended up driving away, I called to speak to the principle & was not able to talk to her, asked for an asst. principle but I was told that they don't have 1. Have not been able to talk to no one about my concern. DON'T send your kids here as they send them out to do ADULT work ALONE and have no idea about them. Again VERY SCARY!!!

I went to this school from K-5 and I loved it. I want my daughter to go here as soon as she's old enough. They have an excellent Mariachi group here and I always loved the school carnivals.

My sister and I went to Davis back in the 70s , back then it was a grate school we loved our teachers , Mr Freedlander, Miss Romero, Mrs lopez. and many more, the principle was Martha Murrietta not related , I have such memories of that school , we lived at 708 N Van Alstine and still stop by now and then , My friends were Manny Martinez, Gene mireles, Jerry Godoy, if I would have had the chance to send my own kids there I would have in a sec, I know it;s still a grate school. Davis is an excellent school! Sra. Rivas and Carrasco are great teachers!!! Children who do not speak Spanish at all. Can and will learn in both languages. Also children do art & physical education. Plus lot of other programs like guitar, trumpet, violin. Plus tutoring! It's very safe place and to Oury neighbour hood center is close by recommend this school!

Good school. Sadly though, school has serious dicipline issues--bullies go on without consequences. We will not be returning next year.
