The school pick up and drop off is the most ridiculous I've ever seen. An unsafe situation that causes safety issued for vehicle drivers and children

My child doesnt attend this school but Im countering this past childs post, because a school shouldnt be judged by a random assortment of people freely allowed to cast votes causing ratings they dont deserve. My wife opted to send our children across town to another school because of a score she saw online.

I worked here for over five years and it was a very toxic environment. Years later, I still have nightmares about working there. They seem to have a new principal/assistant principal every year or two -- they'll try to change the negative and combative work culture with no success. When it came to discipline, I rarely got any support and was pretty much on my own. It did improve my class management, but it was baptism by fire. The school was dirty and old, and many classes had no windows, which gave it a jail-like atmosphere. Parents were allowed to come in and interrupt me while I was teaching. Teachers openly attack each other in meetings and no one does anything. There were many good teachers but they were easy to miss with all the negative, angry teachers being the dominant voices.

My daughter is in the gifted program at Gridley. She complains of lack of challenging assignments. My son is in regular classes here and both of them get very little homework. Its average.

Theyre average teachers for us. Our kids dont need personized attention.

They cannot control the culture of this school and they barely try. Parents are constantly complaining to the principle. A DAY suspension for fighting. Physically fist fighting.

My daughter was bored in her classes and getting easy As so they allowed her to move in the gifted program mid quarter.

I am withdrawing my children because daily they are exposed to drugs and fighting. My children observe these fights, kids record it and post the videos online. This year some of the students created a social media page strickly airing people secrets and threats made toward other students. We have had our son in here 1 year and our daughter 1.5. There have been 6 fights this year alone. Daily threats of fights. After a fight, they may get 1 day suspension. Our son comes home with stories about kids vaping. Someone was smoking weed in the girls bathroom. Its not one kid, its the whole culture.

Gridley Middle School is a great school. My child transferred to this school after 2 years at another middle school. The teachers and other students have made him feel very welcome. He is ADHD and there is a great support system in place to help him be successful. Overall I would highly recommend this school. The Principal, Mr. Davies is always available to help you or your child.

Gridley Middle School Absolutely a great school if you have a well functioning child . Horrible if you have a child who needs extra help . I have a Child with ADHD and it is like pulling teeth to get any extra accommodations from the staff . Even with a 504 in place they still push him aside . I live 1 block out of the boundaries of this school so my son is open enrollment . He wanted to attend this school so he could attend the same school with his stepsisters . I have been told my son is being promoted to 8th grade for the 2014-2015 school year but wont be welcome back to Gridley due to his grades !!! Um are you kidding me!? If you have a child who has no struggles with learning then great send them here but if you have a child who has a very hard time with learning STAY FAR AWAY !!

We are loving our transition to Gridley. There is way more options here and the teachers are very responsive. The principle is wonderful and accessible. We made the right choice by moving to Gridley!

I'm an eighth grader at Gridley this year and it has been such a great school! Making the transition from elementary to middle school was difficult for me and every teacher has been supportive and caring from the beginning! I actually look forward to going to school every day! I would recommend Gridley Middle School 100%! :)

Very very disappointed in Gridley Middle School. They employ teachers who are not certified to teach. I was confused when my son who excels in math was struggling. Six months later a notice is sent home saying she will no longer be in the classroom since she has exceeded her time without certification. My son lost 6 months of valuable time. Also they discourage parent involvement. If I send an email or call one of his teachers he gets yelled at the next day about how they dont want to hear from parents. I would definitely not send my children here.

Not a great school :( I hoped it would be but recently several certain things were handled very poorly by several different administrative people. The admin was not supportive, friendly or helpful but more snotty, and unhelpful even when it came to light they were in wrong. The school was not willing to fix the wrongs they made. I don't know how they expect to lead by example when even the school doesn't own their mistakes.

Gridley Middle School is an AMAZING school! Coming from a student of 3 years at this school, currently an 8th gader, the teachers are absolutely outstanding and awesome to us, and Mrs. Sheppe, the principal, new my name on my first day and never forgot it, along with every other teacher, and i feel like they are all my best friends! Gridley is a fantastic choice for new 6th graders, because everyone i know has loved their experience with Gridley! GO GRIZZLIES!!!
