They walk out of school and teach our kids when you don't get your way to throw a fit and walk out

Teachers become bullies if you choose to disagree with their opinion

Teachers themselves are bullies towards our kids

If you agree to disagree with the teacher's opinion they attempt to bully you into their opinion and it's a terrible way of teaching our children. We stand strong and will never fall from being our own individual self .

My son has been attending La Cima for all his middle school years- 3 in total. His academic experience has been successful as well as challenging to keep him focused and on task. He is in college prep classes and has been on the honor roll which shows me the teaching quality as well as the educational environment has been just right for him. I highly recommend this middle school.

This is an amazing school! The principal and other staff members truly care about kids and their well-being. I have NEVER had a bad/negative experience with this school. In fact, I wish there were more schools like this for kids. Not every school goes out of its way to make sure students have what it takes to be successful. I am not just talking about the academic content, but the personal relationships with each child and his/her family. La Cima makes sure students have clean clothes each day, a safe environment to learn, school supplies, breakfast/lunch, etc. The principal and teachers spend a lot of their own money and do not ask for anything in return. They just truly have a passion for kids and deep down want them to be safe and grow into exceptional individuals. I cannot say enough great things about this school!!! 10 out of 10 in my eyes!

I like this school. Great teachers.
The principal asked parents to take a few minutes to write a review. Didn't say a good review just thought it would be good to have parents share views.

This is so amusing, so I get an email from the principle herself to persuade us parents to write a good review for her school. I can't give this school a lower rating due to not having the option of horrible. I love the area that I live in, but hate that I had to send my daughter to la cima being that I unfortunately had my older children go to this horrible school in the past I already knew what my daughter would run into, and I was right on point. My daughter also was bullied and belittled at this school, and what's worse is that this didn't come from any other student, this came from the joke of administration itself. My daughter will not be returning to this school next year that's for sure. As for the principles request for good reviews I really hope that parents do open up about what a horrible job you and your staff are doing.

my daughter has positive things to say about some of her teachers but also has negative things to say

when it comes to this school I'm sure the parents are responsible for their students honesty, integrity, and fairness, although not all teachers are discredited just their admin side.

Through the schools no tolerance policy they have fixed my daughters behavior problems in school she has had the past few years. I have only had positive interaction with every administrator I have met or spoke to. Is there room for improvement? Of course every school has room for improvement. Overall I think this is a great school.

La Cima teaches accountability through modeled behavior of the staff and encouragement to succeed. All students are provided equal chance to learn, develop, and grow accordingly.
Posted: April 26, 2016
La Cima staff and teachers take time to focus on each child to help them succeed. My daughter was labeled by her prior school being "special education" and never had a chance to move forward. After introducing her to La Cima, the teachers ensured that she received the tools and support to overcome the label and move forward. My daughter is motivated to attend school each day and is always looking forward to the future. While there is no perfect school, La Cima goes above and beyond to teach each child that they can succeed!

First off, this school is phenomenal! The person making the most recent negative comment has some kind ax to grind (possible ex-employee?). A little history first....my son went to specialized private schools due to learning & emotional challenges starting in 2nd grade. He never had to get an IEP because private schools don't require them to accommodate the child. When we moved to AZ, it was a shock, there were no specialized schools for children with challenges. I had no choice but to put him in a public middle school when we lived in Northern, AZ. It was a complete disaster! My son went from being an A/B honor roll student who had big dreams of attending MIT, to a child with F's across the board in a few short months. I had to fight him to go to school every morning & he would cry in the car every day after school & tell me he wanted to drop out & never go to college! I was so distressed because my son has always been an eager, excited learner. I started the process of getting an IEP & that school fought me the entire way until I finally had him evaluated by an outside expert at my own expense to prove it was necessary. Shortly after that, we ended up moving down to Tucson. La Cima jumped on that IEP almost before I could finish asking for it! Not only is my son happy & engaged again, he is getting straight A's & always has interesting things to tell me when he gets in the car after school. Last week, I had to contact the administration due to a bullying situation with regards to PE. It was the garden variety "you're fat & you always make us lose, so we don't want you on our team" stuff. The staff was on top of it IMMEDIATELY. The was no hesitation or questions asked; it was simply dealt with. They got very creative to help accommodate my son so this type of harassment does not happen again. I cannot say enough good things about La Cima! Sadly, my son will go to high school next year, but my daughter will attend La Cima as a 6th grader the coming school year. I know they will take care of her just the same as I would & I'm looking forward to her attending La Cima!

La cima middle school has been amazing to my daughter. The teachers and staff have been so supportive and really helped her stay on the honor roll for all but one quarter in the 3 years she has attended. They have her thinking about college and excited about learning. Most of the teachers have had such a positive impact on her and challenges her in ways that made her want to be in class every day and not miss anything. My son will start next year and I know he will be attending the best middle school in Tucson!

I find that La Cima has great, encouraging Teachers and staff. If I have a question they respond right away.
I find when she asks for help they assist and do as much as they can to help.
We don't live in the district. We drive 20min to get there. My daughter is striving and is very much involved in sports.
Keep up the Hard( good) work!

This is a no nonsense school. If you misbehave there will be consequences! They don't tolerate drugs ,alcohol or bullying.

The administration does not have a good record with keeping teachers long term. Most are new and have not been at the school very long.

I would never allow my child to attend this school. We live in the attendance area and we open enroll to another site. The school has lost 200 students in the last few years as a result of a cold non caring administration. 90 percent staff turnover in the last three years. Teachers left in droves rather than work there.

La Cima is a remarkable school! I have worked in a handful of schools, and none can compare. In all of my years of teaching, I have never experienced a staff quite like La Cima's. Our top-notch administration not only facilitates and develops teachers, but they have amazing relationships with the students. Our staff as a whole, genuinely cares about our students, both on a personal level and an educational level. La Cima Cardinals have dreams, and we are there to teach, encourage, and help each and every child reach his or her full potential. Our mission is to develop a community of learners dedicated to academic excellence, lifelong success, and service to the community. From the administration, to the teachers, to the curriculum, to the students - La Cima is one amazing school!

We love this school and the staff. The education our kids are receiving there is first class. We especially love the science teacher Ms. V. she is a rock star teacher. I highly recommend this school. They have a beautiful, big campus. Do not believe the negative comments as they are unfair and not true.

Ms. Sullivan and her administrative team are a wonderful team. They truly care about the kids and education they are receiving. My kids both had IEPs and this school did an outstanding job providing them with the resources they need to be successful. The class options they offer (art, band, STEM, etc.) are top quality, especially the STEM. As a parent, it is with great pride that I recommend this school to you and your kids.

I absolutely love this school!!! There are amazing and dedicated teachers at this school!!! The principal at this school loves her students so much and truly cares about their future. I have sent my children to some ok schools but I have never seen the staff interact with their students. My son loves when he sees his principal in the mornings. He said she always asks how am I doing!! That makes me happy!!!

I love teaching a La Cima Middle School. This is my 28th year of teaching and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else! Why do I love teaching at La Cima? First of all, we have GREAT students! Our students work hard, care about their grades, have wonderful attitudes, and a superb sense of humor. I love their enthusiasm and perseverance. Secondly, our staff is exceptional. I have never seen a staff care more about their students, work tirelessly to meet the needs of every child, and support each other in our commitment to our students. Finally, our administration is very supportive of both our students and our staff. When a need arises, extra funds for document cameras or graphing calculators to money for new choir outfits, our principal makes sure we have what we need. I'm proud to work at La Cima and proud to be a Cardinal!

La Cima is exemplary in all categories: Dedicated, experienced, compassionate administrators, teachers and staff; Rigorous and well-rounded curriculum (REACH, the Arts, STEM, Sports); College-Prep program (AVID); Modern, fastidious campus; Frequent, welcomed and efficient communication with parents; Student-Lead Conferences. Classrooms are well-equipped and the Principal is an award-winning leader. As a teacher and parent, I highly recommend La Cima Middle School!

Good school. Great teachers and staff. I attended there several years ago and I feel I got a good quality education from there.

The Principal does not have people skills. I volunteered at the school multiple times and was never thanked by her for the days of service provided. Many of my parent friends stopped helping at the school. You don't stay were you are not welcomed. I felt she did not care about my concerns for my child. She is not a warm person. We will open enroll my other children at another school because of her.

The new principal ruined my 8th grade year. She did not care what we thought, what we cared about, or what we needed. She just hide in her office and came out once in a while to bust students she did not like. She does not know what she is doing.

The school was OKAY. I went to La Cima for most of middle school and the students dont really care about anything. There are a lot of great teachers but not students. It is hard to make friends there because the students are mostly all the same. There are no groups at that school like goths or skaters or anything like that. There is really no diversity. But it is an okay school. They have good advanced classes on mostly every subject.

I started going to this school in 7th grade and i left after the 2nd quarter.I would have to say this is the worst school EVER ! The students dont care about their future, grades, and they most certainly dont have respect for the teachers and staff.Theres very few good teachers and almost no parent involvement.I feel sorry for the teachers because the students refuse to cooperate. I wouldn't recomend this school!

I have never experienced a school where students rarely have homework. Expectations of students appear very low. If we as parents aren't involved in our child's academics our students will be a product of a failing system.

When I enrolled my son into LaCima Aug 2009 I was nervous due to the ratings but now I couldn t be happier. I love this school. The teachers really care about the kids. They are easy to talk to. They will communicate via email, phone or in person. The teachers, office staff, nurse, and monitors are very smart and friendly. They pay attention and are easy to talk to. My son really likes it there too & looks forward to the football and wrestling activities they offer. He has learned so much and has fun doing it. He has excelled to advance math and gets A-B's in all his classes. This is the best school I have seen yet & I have seen a few from TUSD to Rancho Sahuarita. I am VERY happy with LaCima in whole and plan to keep my son there until he moves on to H.S.
