Both of my kids have been at Tully. The teachers are amazing and truly care for each student. My son is on an IEP and I have been so grateful for everyone at Tully and how much theyve helped and supported my son.

In all honesty, I had reservations about enrolling my kids at Tully- for no other reason other than what options it was weighed against (Davis, Borton, Drachman). After almost 2 years at the school (pre-k and K) I am SO happy that we went for it.
The school is small and truly does feel like a community. We love the staff, especially Glenda and Sue in the office, Mrs McCollum, principal Wilken and crossing guard Penny! The teachers that our kids have been with place high priority on the social-emotional wellbeing of their students and compassionate communication has really been at the heart of their learning.

My child attended Tully Elem for one year. Their teacher was nice and communicated with me excellently. What had me give this school a bad rating was the fact that my child was bullied at this school and the zero tolerance is basically slapping the bullies on the wrist when reported. My child's teacher did what she could and agreed that some kids at the school get away with things. I've noticed a parental clique as well so I am not certain if that plays a part in these situations. All in all, my child goes to a different school that cares about safety and focuses on education.

My sons first school since he was 3 (pre kinder) with Mrs. Janet and Mrs. Reyna ! They truly are amazing !! They care about each individual kid ! My son loves her and even after we moved to Colorado he still asks for her ! Will be going back to thank her for everything she did with him !!!

Tully has always had excellent dedicated teachers, and until recently has had some of the highest scores in the district. The demise of Tully has occured due to very poor and unimaginative leadership. Run as fast as you can.

Questionable leadership, low teacher morale, unusual staff domination over all fiscal aspects of fundraising & spending of PTO funds (without adequate bookkeeping) and a very undemocratic, adversarial past PTO (where the leaders resented anyone who questioned the way the PTO operated or when voting on matters was requested by its members during PTO meetings) were major reasons we didn't select Tully for our children's future educational experience. That and TUSD/Tully were unable to attract enough enough GATE children to the school's 1st and 2nd grade self-contained GATE classes (while other schools in area had adequate numbers to sustain their GATE programs for all grade levels). Tully's student population is comprised primarily of children from lower income, immigrant and refugee households that requires directing a lot of its resources towards the challenges of meeting their educational and social needs. I hope that TUSD leadership & the Principal will work to overcome some of these issues and make the school a more inviting place where kids (and parents who want to be involved) can have a rich educational, recreational and social experience while getting great AIMS results!
