This school used to be really good, but everything changed when they got a new principal. In my opinion, the current principal has made some terrible decisions, especially when it comes to hiring teachers. It feels like they hire people who have no patience with students and don't really know how to teach. I went to this school from 6th through 8th grade. When I first transferred here in 6th grade, everything was great. The teachers actually cared, they explained things well, and school was enjoyable. But around the middle of 7th grade, everything started going downhill. By the time I got to 8th grade, the school didn't feel like the same place anymore. He also gave us surprise quizzes and tests that counted for a huge part of our grade, even though he never really taught the lessons. The class became more stressful than educational, and a lot of students struggled because of it. The worst part was how he treated students. I remember one day when my friend laughed at something during class. The teacher was already in a bad mood, so he walked over, got right in my friend's face, and started yelling at him. He was so close that he was literally spitting while he yelled. Later that same day, he talked to me disrespectfully too. I responded, and he got right in my face as well. My friend and I reported what happened, but the principal only gave him a warning. As far as I know, he's still teaching there today. He would also make excuses whenever he got something wrong. He always blamed it on his "back issues" or his "surgery." I understand people have medical problems, but I don't see what that had to do with making mistakes while teaching or grading. It wasn't just that one teacher either. The school always seemed to make everything more complicated than it needed to be. They would change schedules, add unnecessary steps to simple things, and waste everyone's time. It got frustrating for students and parents. My parents, other students, and I all talked to the principal about the problems at the school, but nothing ever changed. It honestly felt like nobody was listening. The teacher stayed, and everything just kept getting worse. I know people like to say that kids are dramatic or blame teachers for everything, but I'm not making this up. This is what I experienced while I was there. I've only been at this school for about three and a half years. I've seen so many students move to different schools because they were unhappy, and I honestly don't blame them

This school is horrible, the students here don't learn anything knew, because the teacher's just give them awnswer's, some teacher's just like to stress out kid's, giving tn's of work that has to be due in a day or two and top it with ton's of homework. The teacher's like to teach with intimidation than patience, the rule's are also so useless, and stubborn. Not only that but they do not respect guardians or adults at all.

Mother of sorrows school in murrysville pa is horrible. Principle Darcy Gatti allows resource officer Brian to playfully handcuff students and arm wrestles students during lunches. This is child endangerment. These 2 should be removed from the school. The church and diocese will do nothing about it

The OMOS student population is going down. They are leaving because the administration is terrible. They have chased away most of the excellent teachers they had. My son was in the after-school violin class, but now they will not have it at that school. We have to take him to another school to take his lessons. Art will not happen there, either. My son's two favorite teachers will not return, which he is sad about.

2023 has turned out to be a disaster. Half of the Middle school teachers are defiant, lazy and unprofessional. The new principal brags of working with gang members with success. She now is trying to institutionalize the kids at omos. They are targets for an attack. The parents arent allowed to enter school to pick up children they are all released to the parking lot with little or no supervision. Disgusted!

I haven't learned a single thing. The only things that happen are 8 hours of endless jokes. The students are disrespectful. I'm getting really tired of this school.

Why I recommend this school is because they have great education and this school is really fun. We have amazing teachers here and we have lots of great experiences like Mass and Confirmation. The kids are kind. I recommend this school.

I personally went to this school(now 20), I saw that when entering high school, I was far above the average student and was prepared for the work load of all honors and ap classes. The only thing I did not like about the school was the religious aspect.

My son has attended this school since Preschool. He will be graduate next month from 8th grade. We are working hard to pay for his tuition, and this school is worth it for your kids. Somehow I wondered how these teachers can be patient with 20 kids at the same time, whose are coming from all different family backgrounds? But they really did an excellent jobs to teach them and support them. My son has proved to me that my opinions about the teachers and school are right, when I asked him:" Would you missed your teachers when you move to high school?" His answer was:" I wish this school will continue to high school, the teachers are nice and fun, but if you don't do your homework, that will be a different story." So I pushed one more question:" Which teacher is your favorite?" He said:" Mom, it is not nice to compare them to each other, they have their special skills and ways to teach in different subject." I am very glad to hear that. What could you expect to hear from 13 years old boy? I knew the tuition is expensive, but this money is never can pay enough for the teacher and school, where you children are safe and have growth to be a fine young man/woman in the future. The school did give the student a chance to work with them and with the parent. Also teachers pay closer attention to the student to help him/her. But there is also a limitation, which I really appreciated the way the school handled it.

When I am having problem about his grade or homework, I usually sent the email or came earlier before school or stay late after school for short question, or made an appointment for long conversation. They loved to work with you and support you when you need helps. They also offer free tutoring after school for students, whose need extra time.

I love this school. There is a great sense of community, and my child is excelling. I also volunteer my time and I'm glad to do so. For everyone who said they try to nickel and dime you, they must be doing something wrong. I go on the field trips and help in the classroom or after school for the sake of MY CHILD, I have more than enough volunteer hours so I never get charged extra. We also have a full scholarship. We have had the same families together for 4 years now and they are all great and welcoming. This isn't a school for you if you find involvement difficult.

We have had our students here for several years and we have been very disappointed with both teachers and the principal this year. It seems as if things are getting worse and no one holds the teachers accountable for their actions. We will not be returning next year. This is not worth the money, kids are bullied and favoritism in classes.

This school is all about the money, they will nickle and dime you for everything. They brag about CTSO money and that is all the principal is concerned about. They started a new system for tracking "volunteer" hours and it's just another way for them to make more money. The office staff is unorganized, principal is arrogant and teachers are dinosaurs. Keep looking...this is not the right choice.

My family is very happy here....the curriculum is up to date, most teachers are happy and effective, technology is on par with public schools, and the principal seems to value fine arts (they have a music and art program....not a lot of time, but any is better than none!)
