We have 2 lower school students at THA and we feel so lucky to have found this school. The community is so warm, inclusive, and diverse. The teachers are incredibly loving, attentive, and really try to challenge the kids to think outside the box. We love the emphasis on arts, music, & social justice. We're just really happy overall and our kids love going to school every day.

THA has been a wonderful experience for our family. I highly recommend THA to any family looking for an environment where your children can grow and flourish academically, socially and emotionally.

Upper school circculum is uniquely designed so one theme is simultaneously weaved throughout each subject. This has been is a very effective way for my son to learn.

THA teachers are the BEST!! Both my children, 6th and 3rd graders love all their teachers. Upper and lower school teachers are wonderful at engaging and motivating students to learn. The are eager and willing to help their students succeed.

Judiasm, by nature is rooted in compassion, respect, integrity and community. My children are thriving at THA not only academically, but socially and emotionally . THA is devoted to teaching students how to academically succeed, and maybe more importantly, how to be a good human being. Respect all, always do the right thing and to live their lives with Tikkun Olam (repair the world) and love.

THA is lead by anamzing group of people. They are always available and receptive to the needs of the teachers, familes and students. They encourage and promote open lines of communication between all these groups and acknowledge how critical this is to the sucess of THA.

THA has an AMAZING Student Support Program. One of my children has been a part of this program for more than 4 yrs. The one on one time he spends daily we these eduators has helped him to become an organized, self sufficient, learner and has contributed to his academic, social and emotion sucess.

We've had an overwhelmingly positive experience at THA. My two children are receiving a challenging and broad education that includes an excellent curriculum in art, music, and language. The community of teachers and parents is warm and inclusive and open to feedback. Most importantly, my kids are happy and confident due to their day to day experiences! Highly recommend that parents check out THA if you are looking for great school with small class sizes and fabulous teachers.

Overall, we could not be happier with THA. The administration is open and wants feedback. The teachers are there to work with individual students. There is a true open door policy.

Tucson Hebrew Academy is hands down the most impressive school I have come across, and I have searched extensively for the right place for my children. My children are receiving a phenomenal academic experience. They are being incredibly well prepared for a higher level of academics. They will be more than ready for some of the most competitive high schools and beyond. While the education is beyond my expectations, the programming and staff also focuses on fostering kindness, compassion, and morality in each student. The school strives to nurture the total person, not just solid academics and test scores. The school environment reflects this on a daily basis. They have programs that are proactive in preventing bullying and strengthens bonds of children across the age/grade spectrum. The staff from the Head of School, Teachers, Classroom Assistants, and everyone in between (even the PE instructor) have each shown me on a DAILY basis that they care about what they do and about my children. They listen, strive to improve, and are responsive to parent feedback.

The teachers are incredibly dedicated, passionate and proactive. They provide an excellent educational experience and get to know my child as well as his strengths and weaknesses in order to create a dynamic approach

The school emphasizes the whole person, not just a strong academic focus. There us emphasis on the moral and ethical instruction as well.

Posted: September 18, 2018

Head of school is open, approachable, and earnestly listens to parents concerns.

Posted: September 18, 2018

Small class sizes enable teachers to approach each child as an individual. The school has programs in place to assist children that have additional needs as well.

Posted: September 18, 2018

There are activities and plans in place that are implemented on a DAILY basis to foster a friendly and supportive environment. This school is proactive not just reactive.

After briefly attending public school and being unsatisfied with the standardized testing approach, we entered THA. I have been thrilled with every aspect of this school. My child loves attending THA. He has had an excellent academic and social experience. My son is highly gifted in math, and has been challenged but not stressed by his teachers. Class size is amazing, and the whole school feels like one big family. There is a lot of music and PE twice a week. The lunch food is delicious - my son loves it!

This is our first year at THA and my children just love it. The teachers are all wonderful and we love the small class sizes. They are getting a quality education and plan to keep them there for many years to come.

The low ratings of the last few reviews posted here concern me, because while those parents' concerns and stories are legitimate, overall, I sense that most students at THA are having a very POSITIVE time and most parents are really quite happy with the education and experience their children are receiving. THA offers some wonderfully unique things -- an intimate, small class size and small school environment in Lower and Middle, and strong secular and Jewish education. The student body is diverse, drawing from all walks of Jewish life. Overall, the teachers are excellent and enthusiastic. Parents should consider THA if they're not getting what they need from other schools -- they may be pleasantly surprised.

My experience is this school cares more about funding than the actual student body, unless you are a large donor. The parents are very clique focused, and there is a strong message to fall in line. Heavily academic, which is not a bad thing, but not for everyone. Great cafeteria and nice holiday celebrations. Our experience is that they just did not care about our child's personal growth, more about keeping up appearances. Vote of No Confidence for head of lower grade.

The school has fantastic teachers but unfortunately the administration and board of directors are uneducated about bullying which has resulted in a lack of proactive and serious measures to combat it when it does occur. The school needs a serious overhaul of it's bullying "policy" and perhaps some changes in leadership including the Board of Directors.

I have both recent experience with this school as well as over a decade experience. My stepdaughter attended from first grade through 6th. After transferring to another school out of state, she had to a hours and hours of tutoring, even for Hebrew. Additionally, my youngest daughters transferred to this school from another private Hebrew day school in another state. My kids were advanced in all areas and the teachers admitted that they were more advanced. I was very concerned but valued the religious aspects of the school. I regret that decision. I pray that my children can catch up. Also, why cannot I not find the AIMS scores for this school? I ask when my kids attended last fall but never received them. The other school printed copies and provided to all parents as well as the public- of course, that school was in the top 1% of the state. Bet money, THA does rank so well.

I have had no issues at all with bullying, and was surprised to hear about it. By daughter has never felt more safe and supported. Perhaps because we came from public school to private, we do not view the conflicts we see as "bullying,' by comparison. We therefore reacted with less concern. I think our reactions have a huge impact. We used to overreact. Now, we trust our daughter's skills, and have therefore instilled more confidence in my daughter to handle her own conflicts, rather than perhaps imposing our own fears upon her, and creating more of a problem than actually existed. All I can say is that it gets easier as they get older to trust they can handle the complexities of social interactions and development, and don't need us so much anymore.
