CCIS has added a Montessori Kindergarten for the 2015/16 school year with a very experienced teacher so check that out as well.

I have two children in this school; one that is working above grade level and needs a constant challenge to prevent boredom and another that is below grade level and requires some extra support. The school and highly qualified staff go above and beyond in meeting their needs academically, emotionally and socially. Their recent report card was several pages long and demonstrated their abilities and challenges perfectly as well as clearly indicating the path forward. Both children love going to school. The IB curriculum is really impressive as is the hands on learning approach and inventive ways that learning occurs (from hosting a science fair last month to putting on a play this month). I see my children becoming more inquisitive, independent and confident. Finally, I love that the school is nonprofit, and with a 50% discount for the second child the price is surprisingly affordable. I would fully recommend you to take a tour!

I am extremely impressed with the quality of education our son receives at the Central Coast International School. He was not being adequately challenged in public school and needed a more individualized curriculum. At CCIS, he is thriving in all areas...academically, socially, physically, and emotionally. The students at CCIS respect and regard one another along with their teachers. The children are taught to be conscientious citizens of their school and they take pride in their own work and encourage one another. The curriculum encourages analytic reasoning and deeper level understanding of the world. I recommend CCIS without hesitation. For any parents reading this who worry his or her child is not thriving or seems bored and unchallenged at school, I believe that CCIS offers a very promising alternative.

We've been very pleased with the individualized attention each student receives and with the active learning we see students engage in. This offers true flexibility in meeting the needs of children who excel above grade level or those who need extra help. There is a solid and well-structured emphasis on reading, writing, comprehension, math, science projects, foreign languages, and active learning. Our child's teacher makes each "unit of inquiry" fun, engaging and rich by leading students to explore each topic fully and deeply with individual and group projects. Basically, a well-rounded program where no kid is left out, and where respect and cooperation are cultivated consistently.

This school is fantastic! My daughter (R) is in the 4-6th grade band, and Ms. Garrett is an exceptional teacher. She presents challenge in a way that motivates the students to excel, finding out where each student's interests lie and encouraging them to delve deeper. R has been in public school until this year, and the change of pace is very noticeable. Kids can learn either Spanish or Mandarin (my daughter chose Spanish - and after only a month her vocabulary is extensive!) and the music and P.E. classes are fun and informative. We love the smaller school environment particularly with a hormonal tween. I volunteer once a week on the playground at lunchtime (45 mins - they actually get to play!) and I witness the extra social skill work that is happening because of personal attention. We are not a wealthy family, and it's not easy to find the money to afford a private school, however we feel that every penny is well and thoughtfully spent here. I cannot recommend the experience highly enough.

This school is proving to be a fantastic choice for my son. He is learning to be self directing and he is learning things like how to research and answer questions on his own, to be critical thinking and in my opinion he is learning skills most dont learn until college! He cant wait to go to school each day. I am so thankful the administration took this opportunity to open a school like this in our area . The San Luis Obipo area has needed another private school option and this one is I really like the IB curriculum and hope that they will be able to impliment the high school and middle school curriculum at some point when enough families enroll. It will give kids in our area a significant educational advantage. Very happy so far
