Upon transferring our student we were told we could not have the transcripts unless we paid the remaining balance of tuition. This is against state code and yet the administrators seem to either be unaware of such code or they don't care.

Our student did not find the school worth staying in because of the students and the misconduct that seems to be acceptable by "star" athletes or kids of donors. There is a great disconnect between the teachers and the rest of the administration. The teachers seemed to be great but the administrators not so much.

I could only give one star because zero stars was not an option. There is a reason why people call this the "Buena" of Catholic Schools. In fairness to Buena, this school pales in comparison. Just because you pay tuition, does not mean that it is a good school.

We are only a couple months away from graduation and, I'm still waiting for something to be done about the awful experience we had with the girls softball team leaders. That's the first problem and I had hoped it would be the only problem however, it is now the least of our problems. The PSAT in 11th grade is used to determine scholarships for college, something I did not know until it was to late. Everything we needed to know about the college application process, scholarships, etc was offered after the college application deadline. There is no accountability for anything. It feels like a boys club even though there is a female principal who has been very nice and, seemed concerned about the problems and offered to help. There has not been any follow through on any of the issues. I do not recommend this school.

I can't imagine my daughter at another school. The larger public schools are great. However, my daughter attended a smaller junior high for K-8. We were looking for a smaller, supportive environment for her to thrive. SBHS has several opportunities for a strong HS learning experience- clubs, sports, and challenging AP classes are all available. We have had the best experience. She has a core group of peers at her academic level. They offer college prep and AP/Honors for the core subjects. I am so impressed with the tech that they integrate into every single class. Teachers are connected to students. I am so glad we made the choice to send her to SBHS.

The school integrates a strong tech component to their curriculum. As a private school, they do require students to provide their own iPad upon registration. It is an investment for all 4 years and beyond. School books are supplied via the iPad and students use a variety of ed tech programs and apps which provide 21st century tech skills.

Staff is AMAZING. With small class size, the teachers do get to know all of the students very well. They hold high academic expectations and have strong communication with parents. Grades are available for parent viewing online and all staff members are quick to respond via email. As a high school, it is obviously a responsibility of students to complete assignments and maintain academic expectations. Parents have the options to stay connected via parent teacher conferences and Open House evenings.

Principal Castro is top notch. She sends regular communication to emails, attends almost every single SBHS event to show support and keeps a strong connection with students.

It is a small private school. Knowing this, it is not helpful to compare to the large public high school district. Certain resources that are available to larger public schools are not always feasible with small private schools. However, teachers and staff are absolutely there to help students and families who actively seek assistance.

Coaches spoke negatively about me and not one person cared to make it stop. I then spoke out against this treatment and was suspended. I told my principal that an ex boyfriend of mine who went to the same school had texted that he was going to hurt me. Nothing was done.

Stood up for what I believed in and what was correct when other teachers were speaking ill of me, I was deemed the problem and was suspended. I asked that the teachers not speak to other students regarding my beliefs and they did. When I brought it up to the Principal nothing was done.

I would recommend to go ANYWHERE else than this school. Get financial aid and go to La Reina, Oaks Christian, anywhere else but here.

So glad we sent our child here. It was everything we were looking for in a school. Not just a education, but teaches the value of leadership, faith, family and friends.

If you are a parent of child with a learning disability this is not the school for your child. I have a son with ADHD and other health impairment and we had the most difficult time. Teachers are not knowledgable when it comes to children who are non cookie cutter. Administration has no idea about their own STEP plan or information on IEP'S. Staff should be more concerned with learning about these "outside of the box" thinkers. This is a very sad situation for parents and students who want to attend their local catholic school.
