This school has been wonderful for my girls. I love that they keep the use of technology to a minimum, read classic novels, and encourage respectful discussion when ideas differ. All of the teachers have been fantastic too. We are thrilled with our decision to move to TPCA.

As a former kindergarten teacher at this school, I can confidently say that my experience here helped me grow tremendously as an educator. The administration consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting both students and staff, fostering an environment built on collaboration, trust, and genuine care. The sense of community is truly special, and its clear that the school culture is intentionally centered on meaningful, face-to-face interactions that strengthen relationships among teachers, students, and families.

I especially appreciated the schools limited-technology approach to education. By minimizing screen time and emphasizing real-world engagement, the school ensures that technology serves as a supportive tool rather than a substitute for human connection and hands-on learning. My kids are thriving! We love that they are not on an iPad all day and they are learning to interact with their peers and their teachers. The armed security also makes it easier to send them off to school each day. They are known, protected, and loved.

This is our first year at Twin Peaks. We switched schools after I noticed my daughter was not enjoying her time at school. She was bored and was being picked on. This year she has come home everyday excited and happy. She has made great friends and shes being challenged academically. The community at this school is very welcoming. The teachers and staff are amazing. I am so happy we made the switch.

We came to this school in 2021 and have loved our experience ever since. The families are welcoming, the teaching is superb, and they're learning life skills alongside academics. They don't have iPads, use physical books to teach, keep kids off screens in high school, and have fun while doing it. We have had kids at every level of the school and rave about all three segments - elementary, middle and high school. If you're looking for a school that will help support you the parent, while encouraging growth and development in your child to be a well rounded, capable adult someday, Twin Peaks is that school!

I have two kids at Twin Peaks Classical Academy, a 1st grade and a 4th grader. We've been at Twin Peaks since my 4th grader started kindergarten. We love the low tech approach to learning and the classical approach. The teachers make learning exciting and my kids learn a lot. The leadership team is very passionate and work hard to have open communication with parents. Everyone respects parents beliefs. They really work to make sure every student succeeds.

I just couldn't love this school more. The difference between our previous STEM school and this classical school is night and day. My daughter's teachers are so obviously caring and largely seem to take the students' adolescent behavior with humor and grace. My daughter has blossomed into a thoughtful kid from the instruction she's received here, vs our previous school where everything was about success on paper and cheating was rampant. TPCA has a "no AI" policy and actually structure the school work to enforce it, so papers are largely written by hand in class. I just feel like the teachers are on my side and are trying to turn out good, well-educated people.

I am ecstatic that my child was accepted to Twin Peaks Academy. The Teachers are fantastic and the Classical format is far beyond anything you'd get in the surrounding public schools. The students here are using old fashioned pencil and paper no iPads or other mind numbing devices, give the pledge and recite and affirmation every morning! I feared for my child's future if he had to go to our assigned school or alternatively having to pay 10s of thousands of dollars to enroll in a private school.

When I first heard about Classical Education, I knew it was something that would inspire and benefit my children not only academically, but also their character development and growth. My husband and I came to the Twin Peaks Open House event 3 years ago, and immediately knew this was the school we wanted our children to be at. In a time where so many public schools have veered away from traditional education, it is refreshing to be at a school that embraces it. We love that Twin Peaks is all about parent involvement and respecting parent's role in their children's education. I have heard many times from our Elementary Principal that parents are student's first teachers, and they are here to support and partner with parents to achieve high academic results. The 6 Pillars of Respect are repeated and reflected in all that is taught. My Elementary kids love learning Latin, and have started to connect how Latin root words are in our daily vocabulary. This will help them immensely with literacy as they get older. I also love that my children are not on iPads the majority of their school day, like so many other SVVSD schools. This enables them to not only learn better social skills, but to be creative and imaginative. My kids have made some wonderful friends at Twin Peaks, and have loved all of their teachers. They are learning cursive, penmanship, and reading real physical books. I know my kids are getting a wonderful education that will have life long benefits. We couldn't be happier to have found this school!

The secondary portion of this school seriously lacks leadership. The secondary administrators have very little experience as educators, and some of them do not even have a college degree. As a result, they have absolutely no knowledge about how to run a school, and they make horrible decisions that severely effect the learning and development of their students. Due to poor administration, the school lost nearly all of their young (and amazing) teachers from last year and retained some teachers who do not care much about education in general and students specifically. From one parent to another, I highly recommend that you look carefully at other schools for your children. This one is poorly run.

This is a school that listens to parents, respects and listens to teachers, fosters positive community spirit and cooperation, and truly delivers a rigorous, equitable, classical college preparatory education to a diverse, yet united student body. Leadership is incredibly effective at inspiring the teachers and at moving a large organization towards achieving the goals set by the parent-led board of directors. I have seen incredible growth and improvement in all areas of this school over several years, and I highly recommend TPCA to any family that wants their children to well prepared for success in college. Many of our graduates have a significant number of college credits earned during high school. There are so many truly remarkable things happening at this school. Students who need an extra push and a little more help are set aside as "troublemakers" and don't receive the education they deserve. Either you give the school good test scores (because that's all the principal cares about) or you don't continue as a student.

I have seen physical fights break out in the hallways 2 feet away from teachers and nothing is done. The bullying problem is horrible and even I was bullied there. The school always does victim-blaming.

The teachers assign copious amounts of homework. Sometimes it is too much to do all of the work for all of the classes even with a block schedule. Back-to-back projects, group work, and personal work combined is a lot. I understand why they assign it but it really is a lot.

Some of the teachers are great, but many others make it so hard to want to continue working. Some of my teachers in the previous years did a horrible job trying to teach and even after parent complaints nothing was done. Not to mention the fact that there are new teachers every year. That fact signifies that either everyone working there is not qualified or doesn't want to work there after doing a few years.

The school is okay because of the small community you get when you go there. If you are nervous in large groups or big schools but don't want to pay the thousands of dollars for a private school you should go here. However the education I have recieved is below-par in many places. There are a few good, supportive teachers, but don't rely on them heavily because they will most likely leave in one or two years. The disrespect in the school is insane as well. The school is advertised as "the best" yet it is no better than any public school. (Not to mention the money issue- this school's funds are in the toilet).

Terrible at handling bullying. If a female bullies a Male, the Dean of Students will defend the female. If you have girls, their safety in bullying is assured, even if they are the bullies. If you have boys, good luck if they are bullied by other boys or females. Dean of Students very sexist towards males, and Principal supports this. Be aware for boys who attend.

Teachers seem to care more and more every year to make sure kids are doing their homework, and stay after school for kids who need additional help. With no after school clubs to help however, students who's English is a second language may find themselves needing additional help outside of the school.

Good in terms of teachers. Could have afterschool clubs for homework/additional help. Bullying issues are handled poorly, especially if a girl is bullying a boy because the school will defend the girl, even if in the wrong. Might need to call law enforcement like we almost had to because a girl wouldn't stop destroying my son's items (glasses, notebooks). Safety is our priority, which is reflected in our rating. +1 star for helpful teachers.

Twin Peaks holds to a Classical Curriculum at the Secondary Level and the Core Knowledge Curriculum at the Elementary Level.

Teachers provide excellent instruction, offer online copies of all texts, assignments, worksheets and study guides. A daily advisory period offers students the unique option of additional assistance from a teacher during the school day while information is still fresh in everyone's minds.

The teachers at TPCA are available! If one time does not work, they will make sure another time does.
They are also constantly working with their teammates to improve the instruction's effectiveness for each student. Teachers discuss what is working (great lessons) and things that don't work (the lesson that did not work well).
The teachers are involved with outside-the-classroom activities-they attend games, concerts, ect which allows for relationships to be built. It is important for teachers to know the interests of their students outside the classroom in order to meet them where they are at.

The students are held to a high level of accountability. If a student is disobedient, disruptive, disrespectful or simply preventing learning in any way, there are consequences from a phone call home to detention or suspension.
Behavior does not change without consequences. Great character is a high priority at TPCA and it is seen in the students and what is expected of them.

Twin Peaks has made such a difference with my daughter who really struggles academically. It is the first school that we have seen actually read her IEP and implement the extra help she requires. Her teachers will read questions to her orally to make sure she understands what is being asked. There is always help for her after school. They have made an absolute difference in her learning experience. She used to cry daily and had labeled herself as "stupid." But now at Twin Peaks, she is proud of the work she is doing and wants to stay for extra help when needed.

The reason I brought my children to Twin Peaks was to be prepared for College. The amount of homework is Challenging but if parents don't want the education that Twin Peaks provides, their are many schools in the area that don't give homework. My two children have been at Twin Peaks since Kindergarten .....one is in 6th grade, and the other is in her first year of High School....and I have been very satisfied with everything about Twin Peaks. The atmosphere at Twin Peaks for both them, and my wife and I as parents, has been way above average. I have friends with children at local Public Schools and although we aren't perfect, we don't have the major issues that they have at thier schools. Twin Peaks is by far the best school in Longmont for our kids and we would recommend it to anyone that wants there kids to be prepared for College....and life in the real world.

My family has attended Twin Peaks for 8 years. I LOVE this school. The teachers are amazing. The administration is caring. All of the students are really good kids! I love that the school has a wonderful academic program. Band starts in 4th grade. Sports are available from 6th grade through 12th grade; Basketball, volleyball, soccer, track, Fencing, lacrosse, cross country. A full musical each winter and a few plays through the year. It really does have everything. The classes are around 25 kids per class in elementary and middle school and smaller classes are in high school. The small size makes it easy for the kids to get involved in everything!. It is a great school!!!

If you had asked me a year ago, I would have said its a great school. However this year, my son's teacher really changed my mind. She punished my son for not finishing his work by placing him in the hallway while the other students had cupcakes and enjoyed a spring break party. I felt that was extremely wrong to do to a 7 year old. She also failed to schedule 3rd and 4th quarter parent/teacher conference with me. As a result I had no idea that my son had received a D on his 3rd quarter report. She also took it upon herself to sign me up for electronic report cards, even though I specifically requested a paper report. The last week of school I found out that my son had been bullied in class by another student. I emailed the teacher only to receive a sarcastic and condescending reply. When I conveyed these issues to the office, I was told my information had been given to the principal. The principal obviously doesn't care, she never responded. needles to say, I'm moving my family to a new school. And I won't be back to Twin Peaks.

This school shows no support for the students who need help talking about sexuality. Not only that, the school has told me that I do not belong because there are better students who could be in my chair. I attended twin peaks for 1.5 years before I knew that this school is a huge joke. The staff are terrible and show no effort into helping students pass their classes. The work load is higher than college courses with no benefit otherwise. DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL.

Our kids are just finishing their second year at Twin Peaks and I cannot say enough good things about this school. My kids teachers have been amazing and everyone I have had contact with (Board, principles, teachers, office staff, custodians!) is engaged with and committed to the school. The level of qualified instruction from highly educated teachers (many have Masters degrees!) coupled with the Core Knowledge curriculum and the Singapore Math program has renewed my children's love of learning which had been squashed at their last school. I've been beyond impressed. Not only with the regular classroom instruction, but with the "specials" teachers and how they tie the curriculum map into their lessons. One example that showcases this: the elementary art teacher didn't just give an assignment to the class, but patiently explained to 3rd graders how the quality of light from Vermeer's studio windows influenced his paintings. How did I know?...my 8 year old daughter told me after school that day. Mind blown. I'd never before seen this level of instruction before. To sum up...It took 3 years for us to win the admissions lottery and I am SO glad we stuck it out.

My child started at Twin Peaks in the 9th grade. He did well and attended for two years, then insisted for his junior year that he wanted to transfer to the local high school with over a thousand students. This did not go well- it has an open campus and his attendance became a real issue. Thankfully, he was able to transfer back to Twin Peaks. I can't say enough good things about the principal and staff at Twin Peaks who helped us with the transfer. These are people that really care about their students! He just did not feel academically challenged at the other school (although he was in honors classes) and I believe was overwhelmed by the sea of students. Twin Peaks has less than two hundred in the high school. The teachers really know their students and it just seems to be a great group of kids that attend. My son is a person who really enjoys learning and he is excited about his classes again. I feel such a relief to have him back at this school!

This is the third year my daughter has attended TPCA. We were happy with the school the day we walked in. We knew this was a great fit for our daughter. The office staff is always very friendly and helpful, great teachers, and a very knowledgeable principal. The expectations are high for the students academically and socially and that is what we were looking for. The environment of the school is clean, safe and a place to learn. No bullying allowed. I would highly recommend TPCA to anyone.

I have 2 students at TPCA, one in 6th grade and one in 8th grade. What initially drew us to this school was the level of academic success, the character focus, and the dress code. I have been very happy with all the teachers, they are both understanding of students and challenging. There has been a lot of help in the subjects my students have a hard time with and when they complain about being bored, or it is too easy, the teachers have been supportive in finding activities that challenge them and keep school interesting. There is a strong sense of community among the students, parents, and staff of TPCA, all are working together to give and get the best education possible.

We have been at TPCA for 3 years.Two children. Lower elementary. It is a lot of work (homework and parental involvement both), but my children are learning a ton and they love the school, their teachers, and friends. One thing that makes the school special is the core knowledge curriculum that creates holistic learning and ensures they don't study the same things over and over. And the emphasis on good character positively affects the whole dynamic of the school. Almost without exception, the teachers genuinely care and the kids love them. When my child struggled with a subject, the teacher was quick to get tailored instructional assistance to get her up to speed without any sense of shame. The school is growing, which certainly creates some bumps in the road and transition pains, but I feel like the staff and families are working hard to keep the school headed in the right direction. Coming in, I had some concerns about the school being too rigid (dress code, etc.), but I have been really pleased with my children's experiences at the school and they love it.

We have 3 children at the school and I have to say that it's been a great experience. My kids do have a lot of homework but it's very manageable, and necessary if the school is going to provide them with a better than average education. If they need it they readily get help from their teachers. It really does feel like a family and if there are any problems with other students, it's handled quickly. Bullying has never been an issue with us, but like every other school in Colorado it exists. The teachers and administration make us feel very comfortable with the way they handle it. We were already aware of their great reputation for academics before we visited Twin Peaks for the first time....but what sold us the first time.....and in our decision to send the rest of our kids...was how comfortable they fit in. They were happy and other than an education, that's what was important to us.

Based on experiences at other schools and countless conversations with parents at our school and others, I believe Twin Peaks is on par with the top tier educational environments in our area. We have had tremendous teacher experiences from first grade through sixth, both with my kids' classes, and the volunteer work I have done on an ongoing basis with more than a dozen teachers individually. I am pleased with the middle school team and how they work to improve the transition experience for the students and parents. I love that my kids can stay at the same school through 12th grade and have similar schedules that make my busy life easier. I am happy with my children's growth and that of other students I work with on a regular basis. I feel blessed to have additional support from the character education that is built into the curriculum. The reason I am not giving all fives is because I believe every school has room for improvement and that we should not stay idle. Also, I would not rate any other school higher. I know my kids are getting a useful, well-rounded education that will set them up for success in higher education and career life.

TWPCA a great disappointment We moved to Longmont last year and were excited by the proposect of her attending a charter school but TWPCA is not what a STEM school should be. Key Issues Student:Teacher Ratio is to high Turnover of Board is to high Parents withdrawing their children from this school Sense of Desperation in recruiting new families Board and Leadership do not seem to have a clear plan to execute No visible plan to drive standards back up

LOVE Twin Peaks Charter Academy! We moved our daughter here three years ago from our neighborhood school. Although we were content with our old school and our daughter did well, we had no idea of her potential once she was challenged! She has SOARED. The core knowledge curriculum yields an outstanding education, our daughter is safe here, we love the dress code and the continuous character education/assemblies are the icing on the cake. We are looking forward to the classical curriculum in high school for her AND soon we will have both her brothers enrolled! It will be great to be able to drop-off/pick-up three kids from ONE location!

My daughter is in first grade and loves Twin Peaks Charter Academy. She was in Montessori for Pre-K and K so I didn't know how well she would transfer but it has worked beautifully. TPCA offers students and parents access to a great education. My daughter is learning a tremendous amount through the Core Knowledge program and really enjoys the extracurricular activities (Spanish, music and art). The staff and faculty are caring and work with the children to get the most out of school. I also appreciate the level of parent involvement.

The student to teacher ratio is way too high!! Typically 30 students to 1 teacher. The students that speak english as their second language typically get the most attention. Therefore, be prepared to spend lots of time on homework and paying for a tutor. We have given this school 3 years to get it together. However, we will be sending our child to another school next year.

What sets TPCA apart from other schools in the state? Well for one, they offer Olympic fencing instruction at the high school level, I've never seen that anywhere else and the kids can't stop raving about it. This school is awesome, enough said.

Twin Peaks Charter is not just another neighborhood school. Your child will be challenged and engaged with every day of instruction. The teachers are amazing, the community engaged and the staff dedicated. Look at our scores, Facebook page and parent survey to get a real feel for what the school is about.

With the expansion the school lost its specialness. Classrooms became much larger, all the "special" things they were to receive at TPCA went away. A lot of teacher turnover, making it difficult for children who need consistency. No longer worth the extra drive time, since the school no longer offers anything more than your neighborhood school.

My daughter loves Twin Peaks. She has been going there for 2 years and has been challenged beyond limits. I am so grateful that she did not have to go to the local public school. At TPCA, she can take HS classes even thought she is only in 6th grade. The motto is "it's cool to be smart", the kids want to get good grades and do better. TPCA has grown for the better in the last few years and I am looking forward to the new sports facility they are working on. I like it that I can be involved in my daughter's education by volunteering at the school. If you don't like (or don't have the time) to put time in your kid's school or if you don't like HW, then don't go to TPCA. Parent involvement is required and HW is assigned daily, which weeds out the parents who don't want to be involved or sit down to do HW with their kids. We love TPCA and I recommend it to all my friends. My daughter will go there until she graduates HS.
