We have been a family at Blessed Sacrament for many years and decided to pull our children out of the school at the end of this school year. The leadership at the school is severly lacking and is so focused on creating "little saints" and educating students about Catholicism that the academics have really suffered. The students attend mass two days per week and on those days also have another 30 minutes of theology in the classroom. There is very little academic instruction done on the two mass days. Many of the teachers are not qualified to teach the subject/grade level they are currently in, which results in a lack of academic knowledge and classroom management in those classrooms. You can look up their current credential status on the Colorado Department of Education website under educator credential search. The teachers in the upper elementary grades consistently yell at the students, are very demeaning in front of other students, and lack the general knowledge of how to educate students at this age. They also have very little tolerance for students that do not sit quielty in their seats and are not perfect students. Bullying is not handled at all at this school. If you reach out to the teachers or administration about bullying they consistently defend the bullies and do nothing about it. The school also does not differentiate to meet all the students academic needs. Teachers do not pull small groups to differentiate to meet students at all levels in the classroom and as a result many families have to pay for outside tutoring on top of paying for tuition. Over the past 3 years many students have left the school which has resulted in many grades only having one class per grade level. These classes are extremely large for a private school with no para support. It is quite evident that the teachers are not able to handle having large classes due to the lack of academic rigor and management.

As a parent of three students at Blessed Sacrament, our family has had a wonderful experience. I am not Catholic, though my husband is, and what drew us to the school was truly the community. The families here come from different backgrounds, but there is a shared commitment to supporting the school and each other.

Blessed Sacrament is proudly Catholic, which we appreciate, of course you wouldnt expect a Catholic school to be anything less. At the same time, they do a great job making all families feel welcome while teaching students strong values like kindness, service, and respect.

For our family, it has been a place where our kids are growing academically while also being part of a really supportive and engaged community.

This is a hard review to write because I had high expectations for this school and it failed miserably. I had two children at BSCS for four years and we switched schools this year because of the toxic environment. Now that we are at a new school, we can see how bad it really was. This school thrived at one point, but over the past three years really went downhill with several outstanding teachers leaving due to frustration with the administration and how the Archdiocese handled things. The school has become infiltrated with parents who have their hand in every cookie jar and are able to manipulate everything from academics to sports. Several of these parents are also the parents of the bullies at this school and nothing is ever done. Children are left to fend for themselves and the bullying continues. The mean girl behavior is out of control and the entitlement of some of these kids is mind blowing. This is not a "christ-like" environment at all. The principal is not professional and emailed all parents whose children are on a 504 plan or have an IEP, in one group email without any anonymity (parents weren't blind copied)-all the children were exposed which is a violation of privacy. The principal also does not handle bullying at all and gaslights students who go to her for help. We have documentation of this. One hundred children have left this school in the past two years and that speaks volumes. Because the enrollment is so poor, the school made cuts- there is no longer a vice principal, the school counsellor was cut from full time to part time and same with the academic support teacher. Students who struggle academically were told they didn't need any more support to justify cutting a position at the school. There are still a few teachers, like the Harveys, who are outstanding, but in terms of 4th and 5th grade and the middle school, it's a mess. Teachers discipline by screaming at kids and publicly humiliating them for small offences. Several teachers are so inexperienced and there seems to be a revolving door. In regards to the athletics, because parents coach the teams, parents pick their favorites (or their child's "besties") to be on their team. Tryouts are supposed to be objective and done by the Archdiose, but they aren't at all- the parents dictate it all. I know firsthand from experience. The parents are just as guilty as fostering this environment of exclusion and hurting kids. This is not a safe school for kids.

I have a child who graduated from Blessed Sacrament and is thriving in High School. My second child is still a student at Blessed Sacrament, and she is also receiving a whole child formation, with solid academic instruction and good moral values. The children grow in a safe environment and develop good social, emotional and academic skills. My children have good reading habits because of Blessed Sacrament and also have had the opportunity to engage in many sports: basketball, cross country, volleyball, futsal, etc. They have also made good friends which still keep in touch even after graduation.

As a current parent, the school has really changed recently. If we werent so close to graduating, we would switch schools. The class sizes are large - most grades have just one class now whereas there used to be 2. The byproduct of this is most classes have mid to upper 20s per classroom for one teacher. No paras. The teachers are well intentioned but seem very overwhelmed. The disciplinary style is archaic and damaging to kids - being forced to stay in from recess, eating lunch alone, standing on the wall at recess, etc. The homework burden is VERY high - unnecessarily so. Kids miss out on other things due to it. The amount of time spent on religion is very high - at the cost of other subjects. Mass is twice weekly with at least daily theology or adoration as well. Other subjects are shortened for this. The administration made multiple significant changes in the school structure that were not communicated to parents until a week before school started not allowing parents to take this into account. The communication with the administration is disappointing as basic questions are not answered and they are not transparent with their roadmap.

It is a small school that takes safety seriously. However, student discipline is done in a very old school (sometimes harsh) way, teachers are not always well qualified, kids get a lot of homework at young ages, classes can be quite large after kindergarten, and there is an extreme emphasis on religion (even compared to other catholic schools).

We have been at Blessed Sacrament for 7 years and could not be happier.
My children have thrived academically and socially.
My current 4th grader is reading at 11th grade level. In all subjects both children always testing one or two (if not more) grade levels higher.
Most staff has tenure of 10-20 years. They care about my children and are able to balance warm loving with high expectations and encouragement.
Blessed Sacrament has Catholic values to put others instead of self.
In a concerning world and culture, my kids have not been negatively exposed to harmful counter culture.
Parents invest in your children while they are young, you wont regret it.

I couldnt be happier and more importantly, my kids could not be happier to be at this school. Academics are prioritized, therefore they are challenged and engaged in what theyre learning every day through the teachers who very clearly love what they do. The small class sizes and friendly student body has also made such a big impact on the positive outlook that my kids have in the way they look forward to going to school each day.

Whatever you do, don't consider even sending your kids to this school. This school has consistently shown their incompetent, passive aggressive, rude behaviors from the start. My kid has been going to this school for a year now, and is constantly complaining about the lack of respect shown in both the community and the staff. If you do not adhere to the "social/beauty standard" of this school (e.g white, blonde, straight, cis, catholic) you will be constantly faced with the extreme pressure to uphold your status. This school also displays their extreme bigotry towards the LGBTQ+ community always. They teach the students here how to hate, how to be selfish, how to stop caring. I originally sent my kid to this school with the impression of him having a wider knowledge of his religion but instead I have him coming home asking why God made him this way if it's a sin. Let me repeat myself again, do not EVER send your kid to this school unless you want them to come out with severe trust issues, self hatred and more.

The school is ok but one problem with it is that if you were anything but "normal" things like long hair for girls, short for guy, WHITE skin you were treated differently. not to mentions the fact that the priest sent out an emale about how they shouldn't be teaching kids that being gay is ok. Im in 8th grade right now and can say that as many of my good memories i have from elimetery stem from this school so do the bad ones, I also have an IEP and for a private school they did an amazing job with the special ed program and they did a lot more than they had to but you don't get accommodation in middle school and the larger work load is even worse with a learning disability i cant count how many times i wold have to stay up all night doing homework just so i could go have lunch with my friends. On the topic of lunch if we talked during silent clean up in the lunch room we had to stand on the wall outside no matter the weather.

We have two kids at Blessed and they are both having a great experience. We toured just about about every public and private school in east and central Denver. Blessed Sacrament was the best all around. This school felt like the right mix of academics and whole child development.

The values of the leadership and teachers are strong. The families work hard to create a culture and connection with one another.

There are schools with fancier buildings but Blessed is focused on what matters most.

We have a 7th grader at BSCS and she is thriving! The school aligns well with our family's values and religious beliefs. The academics are rigourous without causing unnecessary stress. Great communication with teachers! The extracurriculars round out extra time with friends after school. BSCS teachers and staff don't just teach the Catholic Faith, they model what it means to be Catholic. Catholic traditions are woven through the entire school. My daughter really enjoys the debates in Social Studies, the projects in Science, the music in Spanish, journaling in Religion, and games in Gym! She gets to be a kid a lot longer than my other daughter that went to a large public MS where kids grew up much quicker. Attend a weekly mass with the kids and see how our priest, Fr. John, fulfills the spiritual needs of children. We are so happy at BSCS!

We love Blessed Sacrament. The teachers are very engaged with the students, they keep parents in the loop and just really seem to care about our kids. The faith-based education, even at the pre-school levels, is awesome and creates such a loving environment. We also really appreciate the smaller class sizes. I've never worried that our kids are being forgotten or lost in the shuffle. Our kids love going to school!

We love Blessed Sacrament! We have four children currently enrolled, and two children that are BSCS graduates. Academically, we feel a gifted child is definitely able to be pushed. Our two oldest children tested 3 years ahead in high school math largely d/t their math teacher recognizing and nurturing their abilities.

I appreciate the Catholic environment and the respect students give teachers, coaches and other students. Disrespectful behavior towards others is not tolerated, I think this is especially nice in the middle school years when bullying behavior can be rampant. The middle schoolers have the same set of teachers for 3 years, the teachers get to know students well and recognize quickly if something is off.

If you are thinking of BSCS, please send your child for a shadow day and attend a parent tour!

I really appreciate the small school environment and the attention and care that is given to all of the children. It is very easy to communicate with teachers and administrators about any concerns. My child is happy, loves her teachers, has made great friends, and is excited about learning. I will be planning to continue to enroll my child in Blessed Sacrament all the way through eighth grade.

Understanding that it is a small school with a small staff with a lot to manage in a day, there is much left to be desired in the timeliness of communicating events and activities that are taking place in the evening or during the day. As a parent working full time it becomes challenging to get the time off I need in enough time to be present for events my child is participating in with sometimes only a week's notice of all of the details.

SO thankful for this school and the community. Almost four years ago we received such blessing in disguise when our youngest of 3 kids didn't get a spot in our local DPS ECE program. We had heard good things about Blessed Sacrament for preschool so enrolled our 3 y/o at BSCS, thinking it would be short term. Fast forward 6 months later and we were blown away by the experience, the teachers, the caring community and the emphasis on raising children in a wholistic manner. We pulled our older two kids out of the local public school and enrolled them at BSCS 3 years ago and never looked back. Kids have been so happy, education is top notch and the teachers really know and care about our children. I remember being surprised and impressed at our first parent-teacher conference what a difference the small class sizes and individual attention makes. The feedback we got was so specific, nurturing and you realize they really care about the child as a person, not just their test score. The school is traditional and values are faith-based which has been a wonderful fit for our family.

We have had an outstanding experience the last 3 years at Blessed Sacrament. Our children, currently 1st grade and P4, are leagues ahead of their public school peers. We were particularly impressed with how many in person days we achieved during the pandemic without our children getting sick even once. The administration is very thoughtful and deliberate in the decisions they make and the direction the school moves. We are so grateful for the teachers and staff who are unbelievably kind and generous.

Blessed Sacrament Catholic School has been a wonderful environment for our family, we have been at the school since P-2 and are now in Kindergarten. We love the community, the teachers are incredible, and the education has been outstanding.

We moved both our kids in the middle of the school year to Blessed Sacrament Catholic School (3rd and 7th grade). Our son and daughter are thriving socially and academically. The community has been extremely welcoming to our family. Both kids like their teachers and enjoy the amount of one on one attention they get during the school day with the smaller class sizes at the school. We feel very lucky to have our kids attend BSCS.

We have had a great experience at this school and have attended this school for 15 years. We loved the preschool, elementary and middle school and feel that you can't go wrong with your children attending this school. The class sizes are small and the Blessed Sacrament community is very strong and welcoming.

This is our first year at BSCS and our child is in 7th grade, so believe me when I say it was a hard decision to leave the previous school, at this stage in their educational career. But BSCS made us and our child feel very welcomed and included in a very short amount of time. The teachers are engaging and care about each student. From our perspective, they are challenging our student who needs a gentle shove sometimes. They are positive and seem to really like kids, which was a concern at our previous school. If a child feels like teachers don't like them, the student won't meet the teachers half way, and learning shuts down. We like it here so much due to the religious foundation they receive, and the inclusive nature of the staff and administration.

BSCS is a wonderful community! The teachers are patient and caring, they have small class sizes, as well as a challenging academic curriculum without pressuring students. Another huge plus is we have met many amazing families that have become close friends.

My child was segregated by her preschool teacher. Light skinned kids were given candy and sent to recess while dark skinned children were left to wonder why they were excluded. This was hidden from parents and when my daughter finally told me the administration did nothing. The teacher was never punished or even offered an apology to my child. Blessed Sacrament, you do not try to teach children about segregation at the age of four! My daughter thinks her skin color is ugly and has suffered due to you incompetence. An apology would have gone a long way to help my daughter heal. You all should be ashamed of yourselves!

The school has severely dropped to new lows. After covid, the school's teaching quality has gone down, and some of the best teachers left for better opportunities cause BSCS doesn't offer them that happiness anymore. My child didn't feel safe within their last years of school there, the environment of the school is depressing and energy-consuming. There is too much grade conflict and drama within the middle school, some team building would've helped if the principal didn't suck the life out of the school. They don't participate in fun activities anymore, there are no field trips, no fun activities at the school anymore. I am so glad my child is now in high school and in a different environment because BSCS has made my child not want to engage in their faith and spiritual learning anymore. They were forced to write essays on how abortion is wrong when my child strongly disagrees with most of the school's teachings. The dress code was an incredibly different thing. No hoodies allowed in the building? The school has no fully functioning cooling and heating. The school's water systems constantly break down, and the bathrooms are in need of a serious renovation. In fact, the entire school is in need of a serious renovation. It would help if the money actually went to the school and not to the principal and PTSA since they clearly don't know how to manage the money. I would not recommend this school if you want your child to be under constant severe academic pressure, be under a constant state of depression, and would rather not participate in any religion due to how the school force feeds religion.

We just started our 6th year at Blessed Sacrament (our daughter was 3 when she started preschool and is now in the third grade) and couldn't be happier. The school not only provides an excellent education but also focuses on the whole health of our children which is something I don't think you can get at most schools. My daughter is reading at a middle school level and tested two grade levels above in math, which was the average of her class. However what I really think sets Blessed Sacrament apart is our community.

I am shocked that one parent wrote that they didn't get a "warm fuzzy" feeling about Blessed Sacrament. That must have been a fluke because we were welcomed by each and every person that we had contact with. The principal even invited us into his office to talk after our tour. Now that our children have been at BCBS we are even more pleased with what we have experienced. The teachers are all very on top of things and my children have learned so much (compared to their last school). The teachers and the administration are very approachable and helpful. Everyone else from the front office staff to the after school staff to volunteers has gone above and beyond the call of duty to make us feel comfortable. This is the first time in the last 5 years that I can take a big sigh of relief after dropping my children off.

I have a child in 5th grade who has been at this school since Kindergarten. His academic experience has been phenomenal. He has had exceptionally talented and caring teachers the whole way. He excels in academics. He tests far above grade level on annual ITBS tests and has grown tremendously in his spiritual formation as a Catholic. We would not put our child anywhere else!

I just toured the school. I didn't get a warm fuzzy feeling. The school felt very much like an inner city school. One student said he didn't really like it very much.

Our family recently toured Blessed Sacrament and I was so impressed with every aspect of the school. The genuine interest and caring toward children and the families there was evident from the parents, staff and administration that we met with. It is very well organized and they offer wonderful after school programs (where kids even get help with their homework!) and camps for school in-service and holidays which is a nice option for working parents. The buildings are old, but everything is cleaned and well maintained. There is longevity amongst the staff and the administration, which I think says a lot. We also spoke with several other families with children who have been enrolled there, and recieved rave reviews across the board. Seriously impressed.
