Our children have been attending SJB since kindergarten and we all love it. I can't imagine going anywhere else. The community is close and very welcoming. The school has a great combination of high academics and a positive social environment. We appreciate the academic excellence as well as a Christ-centered model.

I can't imagine sending my children to another school. The program at SJB is focused on developing the whole child. They work to support and build up the intellectual and spiritual aspects of every student. This is fulfilled not only through the solid curriculum but through the relationship with the teachers and staff.

The principal and administration at SJB are great. The principal is intelligent, professional, and extremely caring. She knows each child and the entire parent community. She is wise beyond her years and is an extremely knowledgeable and effective leader.

When our two sons became school age, it was an easy decision to send our sons to St. John the Baptist Catholic School. We have been very pleased with the academics and spiritual guidance that both my sons have received at SJB. Kindness and respect is taught even at the pre-school level and continues throughout the elementary and middle school. Our oldest son is an 8th grader and will have been at St. John's for 10 years when he graduates. He is very well prepared for high school! He has learned excellent time management and organizational skills at SJB. He is excited and confident to start his next chapter in high school! SJB is a wonderful community that is rich in faith and love. SJB has truly been a blessing to our family!

St John's is a great school and an even better community. Class sizes are small and teachers know and care about each of the students. Students get a great academic foundation that sets them up for success in high school and beyond. They also grow deep roots of faith and character. It is a unique place, a place where bonds are formed for a lifetime. I'm so glad we were able to send our five children to St John's!

My children transferred from a "top rated" area public school to SJB three years ago. Looking at our experiences in public school and our experiences at SJB, we all wish we had made the transition sooner. While my kids do have more homework at SJB than in the public setting, they are happy to complete it, as they are enjoying what they are learning and find their homework to be interesting. They are not simply pushing buttons on a computer or iPad, they are learning to think and they are allowed to be creative. Of course they still do have computers and use them actively for class projects and in their school days, but they also put brain, pen, paper, and textbooks to use. My kids come home from school happy and tell me about their day- what they did in class, who they played with at recess, etc. -Quite the departure from feelings of stress or sadness that we used to experience after school every day.

The staff, administration, and community truly care about the students, and the students truly care about each other. The environment at SJB is unique, like nothing I have ever seen in a school setting. My children feel safe, they feel welcomed, they feel valued, they feel successful, and beyond that proud, in their academic achievement. I strongly encourage parents and students, whether Catholic or not, to visit SJB. There is a reason this school has been voted #1 in Longmont two years straight, it really is that amazing.

This school gives as much homework as they want before the class ends. I transferred school to go to St.John The Baptist Catholic School in Longmont,CO and this school is way better and they have zero tolerance for bulling and this school has a little tolerance for bulling.

We absolutely love St. John's. As members of the community for the past seven years we can't say enough good things about the school and parish. Our children love coming to school and they love their teachers. Both the Pastor and Principal are leaders of this community. The public school district in this area, St. Vrain Valley, is mediocre at its best schools. If you want your child to have a faith-filled, academically strong and classical education then you will love St. John's! This is a community at its best.

We are a new family at St. John's, we moved to the area last year and we love this school. The entire staff is caring and compassionate and the education our children are receiving is outstanding. The administration is highly qualified and very engaged in the progress and growth of the school. What we love most is the community, everyone at St. John's cares about one another like family. This school is a gem and we couldn't be happier.

I have been a member of the St. John the Baptist community for many years. The principal is not an administrator. She does not have her principal's license and is only qualified to teach; and it shows. The administration of the parish is equally poor and the pastor is not capable of making administrative decisions. This used to be a wonderful happy place. Now, the teacher morale is at an all time low. Unfortunately, we as parents and our students can sense the unrest. Letters sent to the community have indicated that the parish and school are having trouble paying the bills. Hopefully it will improve when there is a change in administration.

We have been a member of the SJB community for the past seven years. All three of our children have flourished at St. John's. They are not only expected to excel academically, but they are learning to be a courteous, polite, respectful, well-rounded person. We couldn't be happier with our experience at St. John's and absolutely love the community!

Two years ago I made the decision to remove my child from public school and place him at St. John's. It was the best decision I have made. St. John's is a nurturing, academically and spiritually enriched school that prioritizes its students and their families above all else. My son has flourished at St. John's and I owe his success to his teacher's, the administration and Fr. Ron. You will not find a more committed, innovative, caring group of educators anywhere else. The principal and assistant principal are amazing and go above and beyond any administrators I have ever seen. The educational curriculum, clubs and sports programs are tailored to push students to excel and grow in their individual areas of gifts and talents. St. John's believes in an individual approach to student learning and will do whatever it takes to make sure each student learns and grows in leaps and bounds. I am so grateful we have such an amazing school in our Longmont community.

We could not be happier with the education our children are receiving at St. John's. A previous review stated that teachers lack degrees in education and the principal lacks a degree in educational leadership, both of these statements are false and grossly inaccurate. If you have any doubts go and visit St. John's to see what they are about. You will find wonderfully talented teachers and a principal that is intelligent and visionary with her view of education. As a parent I know I might sound biased but moving here from the east coast made us critique a number of schools in the Boulder area and St. John's was far superior to six other private and charter schools we visited. Their curriculum purposefully does not follow the Common Core and is far more advanced then anything you will find in a public school. Technology at the school is growing and is very comparable to many public schools. If you want your children to have an academically superior education in a faith filled, supportive environment this is the best school you will find. If you have any doubts visit this school and you will see why it's the best educational decision you will ever make for your children.

We couldn t be happier with our experience at St. John the Baptist Catholic school in Longmont. The SJB family is welcoming, faith-filled, and positive. We have three children enrolled at SJB. While we live in unincorporated Boulder County (closer to Niwot), the kids have friends from many of the near-by cities (Frederick, Firestone, Berthoud, Erie, Lafayette). Our youngest attended the pre-school last year two are currently at the elementary school and our oldest attends the middle-school. This K 8 institution provides an excellent education with rigorous academics, but it s the catholic education, small class size, and faith-based approach that we appreciate most. The curriculum is focused (AP/IB prep), provides a solid approach to all subjects (religion, Spanish language, science, math, English, music, literature, physical education) and has strong sports programs (including widget sports programs).

Although SJB claims that they provide a supportive, academically rigorous, and a technologically advanced environment, I have found this not to be the case. The teachers are often young, inexperienced and lack a a degree in education. I also have concerns about where my tuition is going and that it is not ending up benefiting my child. With a grossly overstaffed office and a principal who does not have a degree in administration (Literacy Coaching is a far cry from Educational Leadership), I have my doubts. The school is also advertising iPads, but without a wireless internet system, they are ineffective and wasteful. This school is about maintaining appearance and not about benefiting your child. I will be unenrolling my kids and be placing my children in St. Vrain this fall...where they will have access to technology and an education that will actually benefit them in the 21st century. I can provide their Catholic education on my own.

My children have attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School for the past two years. SJB boasts small class sizes and rigorous academics. Pre-school incorporates religious education in all aspects of learning while grades K-8 have a specific class for religion. In addition, they offer specials classes such as art, physical education, music, and Spanish, some starting in pre-K. The teachers and staff genuinely care about each and every student, which makes for a strong sense of community. The school has made such a name for itself that students are drawn from area communities, such as Firestone, Frederick, Berthoud, and Erie. SJB is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a school that develops the whole child.

SJB provides an excellent culture academically and spiritually. We are incredibly impressed with the entire teaching staff. Each teacher is dedicated to assuring the success of each child. Class sizes are small and intimate. The curriculum is tough and advanced. 90% of kids graduating SJB end up in IB/AP high school programs. The school has awesome sports, art, Spanish and music programs as well. We couldn't imagine our children outside of this amazing environment.

My child has been at St. John's for three years now and I cannot describe how high the quality of education is there. Compared to other schools in the district, public, charter, and private, St. John's is bar none the best. Their rigorous academics, large athletic program and moral values they instill in all of their students is worth the very affordable price of tuition. We don't have a ton of money but their tuition cost and tuition assistance that is available makes it affordable for any family. We are so grateful to have such an amazing school in our Longmont community.

Our daughter went to SJB from preschool to 8th grade. She is now in Honors classes, has an incredible work ethic and a strong foundation of faith. There were some tough years, but we always had the support of her teachers to give her extra help. The parent community it so amazing and I miss that the most. If you are considering SJB, please schedule a tour, your child can even shadow in class. They also have a terrific athletic program.

I have been contact with SJB for 14 years in one way or another. Unfortunately, it has been deteriorating rapidly. This isn't due to the school administration or the teachers, but rather the parish administration and Father Ron. The parish administration has taken all of the school decisions away from the school. The teachers are no longer trusted. The school administration is ignored and the environment is tense and depressed. In the name of bringing back the "a place to call home environment" the principal and the assistant principal, a woman that has been the glue to keeping the children the most important asset, haas been released. Who let's an accredited, awarded, loving, caring person that fights with her life to keep the voices of children heard? A woman that will fight all politics or heavy handed parish administration to ensure the children remain the schools first priority. Sadly, I no longer support this school.

This is an excellent school. It provides a strong Catholic atmosphere with excellent academics. The college scholarship money our oldest two received was more than enough to cover the cost of K-12 Catholic school for all four of our kids, two of which are still not even in high school yet. Even without the college scholarship money, St. John's would be a great choice, simply because of the way the education integrates the whole person - mind, body, and spirit.

We are parents of a gifted elementary student whose needs were not being met elsewhere. She has flourished here!! Most curriculum tends to be accelerated. Excellence is expected. Her teacher is absolutely phenomenal. We are also impressed with the leadership of the school. The school is very well-run. The children are kind and accepting as well. My child loves school and comes home with a smile each day!!

I am a family member of someone who attends this school. The morale and the atmosphere of this school are not good. We are looking else where. The attitude is "we will just get new people" esp. preschoolers/kindergarten and when they dislike us, then we'll just get new people. Seems kind of inefficient to me.

We love St. John's. Our children are very happy there and are very challenged academically. The administration knows exactly what they are doing as they have sent many students successfully on to high school. Parent's need to realize, this is a PRIVATE school. When you put your child here, you accept the philosophies of the school. If you want to have a voice, you need to try a public or charter school.

I have had two students go there for all K-8 years, and two others in the school right now. It is an excellent school academically and spiritually; my oldest is now a straight-A student in college on a full ride. My second is doing extremely well in high school, and I think a great deal of their success is because of what they got at St. John's.

This used to be a great school. If a parent donates a lot of money to the school, your voice counts more.The school started following the trends of the public school, so why bother?

This was a wonderful school. Expectations were high and parental involvement was heavily encouraged. Now administrative decisions restrict the growth of the school and many families are leaving or have already left. Parents aren't welcomed at all.
