Stanley has been transformative for both of my children. The multi-age classrooms have been a game changer, creating real opportunities for leadership, collaboration, & social-emotional growth. It's not unusual to see my third grader confidently working alongside older students.

What stands out most is how deeply my children are known as individuals. The student-to-teacher ratio & philosophy allow teachers to truly understand each child's strengths, challenges, & interests. My son is exceptionally advanced in math but needs more support in writing. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, Stanley meets him where he is, challenging him in areas of strength while supporting growth in others without shame or stigma.

Just as important, Stanley has created a genuinely kind & inclusive community. The school teaches & models empathy, respect, & belonging every day. My children feel seen, valued, challenged, & supported. I'm grateful for the educators who make Stanley such a special place.

We have two kids at Stanley, who have been there for two years now. The biggest review we can give is that they come home from school each day happy and full of stories about experiences that theyve had each day.

Additionally, its very clear that the teachers and faculty care deeply about every student at Stanley. Their updates and communications about your childs progress is excellent.

I attended Stanley for nine years (K-8), and it will forever shape the way I move through the world. Stanleys mission, vision, and values are woven into everything it does, cultivating in students a deep love of curiosity, respect for others, and a strong sense of community.

In the years since I graduated, Ive seen how Stanley continues to adapt to our changing world while staying true to its guiding principles. It remains a place grounded in integrity, growth, and care for each individual student, while also holding students to high academic expectations.

I will be sending my own children to Stanley, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone in my orbit.

Stanley is a wonderful school where both of my children have thrived. The teachers are amazing and come up with really creative, interesting projects for the kids to do. My kids have been supported by the staff in both extensions of their learning and support in areas where they needed more help. The parent community is also wonderful!

It has been wonderful to see our son thrive at Stanley. The multi-aged classrooms have allowed him to feel safe to grow as a lifelong learner. He loves his current teachers and stops back to visit old teachers. Stanley teaches to the whole child. The social emotional program has allowed him to be seen for his strengths and guides him with support as he faces challenges. It is a very strong community. We as his parents feel fortunate that not only does he feel like it is his community, but it is ours too.

As a parent of three children who attended Stanley British Primary Schooltwo of whom are now thriving in high schoolI cannot speak highly enough about the foundation Stanley has provided. From day one, Stanley nurtured not just academic growth, but also social and emotional development in a truly holistic way.

Academically, my kids entered high school exceptionally well-prepared. They learned how to think critically, write with clarity, and approach problems with creativity and confidence. The emphasis on inquiry-based learning at Stanley helped them develop a genuine love of learning that continues to serve them well today.

I went to this school from kindergarten all the way to graduating from 8th grade in 2022, both of my older siblings had done the same and in total my family had been there for over 20 years. This school is a very unique one in how they teach. They teach kids not just the basics, but how to love learning and be open to new ideas. As someone who is dyslexic this school successfully gave me the right materials and teachers I needed to help me learn. This school really did care about my learning. However ever since Covid they started teaching odd ideologies such as racist ones. In 7th grade my English teacher was teaching the class that all white people are racist. Later on I also found out that they stopped teaching one of the most important and famous books in literature: To Kill a Mockingbird. They did this because they thought it was racist (it wasnt, this is a historical book that teaches the horrors of racism and why justice always needs to be fought for). Overall this school was great for me up until 7th grade when they started acting too political. Maybe they have changed but that was my experience.

I have three children in Stanley's elementary school and cannot speak highly enough about the program, staff, and community. Students are welcomed by name each day at drop off by specials teachers, division heads, and/or the head of school. In the younger grades (K-5), students learning is highly interactive and often done in small groups. While one half of the class heads off to a special (library, PE, art, etc), the other half divides into groups up to five and works with their teacher on math or literacy. The students also have time with their entire class, like choice time, where they can create, experiment, and build friendships. The K-5 students stay in the same classroom for three years so the teachers know them so well and parents get to know other parents in the community. Stanley also focuses on your whole child, and as a result the students become really well rounded. They study different units -architecture, apes, mechanics, poetry, and the units vary year to year and spark joy, creativity, and interest in kids (and teachers!). The parent community is very involved and welcoming. I highly recommend Stanley!

Stanley does a great job at masking diversity efforts. They tout a 30% population of students of color. While this may be true I do believe this school to be an unsafe space for Black boys. They have asked most families of Black boys not to return. To clarify there are African families who are welcomed because the culture is different and many immigrant families will not question the treatment of their children, it African American, biracial and adopted Black boys have been mistreated. Stanley consistently targets black boys by stating they dont have support for their learning but also subjecting them to harsher punishments. I have spoken to several families who were asked not to return because they couldnt support these children. If they do allow black boys to stay many are placed on behavior or special needs plans. I would love for Stanley to survey past and present African-American families.

Our young child has benefitted greatly from the emphasis on social emotional learning and from the love, attention and support from his amazing teachers. He absolutely LOVES school. Stanley has been wonderful a positive and engaging school and place for our family. Our daughter is at a school where she's celebrated for who she is daily. We feel that she's been well and deeply supported in the academics as well as athletics, social emotional learning and clubs. Stanley British is a very special place. Stanley is a school that engages students in a challenging academic environment as well as fostering their creativity through innovative lessons. Stanley brings out the best in each and every student helping them to discover their strengths and hidden talents. The love of learning is evident when you walk through the classrooms. A very special part of Stanley are the teachers. The teacher/student relationships that are formed are heartwarming. The teachers are so in tune with each child and take time to know them each individually. This creates a sense of comfort and safety where students can be themselves. The most impressive part of the curriculum, social studies in particular, is the ability to adapt curriculum to current local and global events while carefully balancing the extremes of outside opinions and diversity of said topics. This helps to create global learners and a safe environment to discuss hard topics. Furthermore, the proactive social emotional engagement during arguably some of the most pivotal times of a middle school student is impressive. The school handles situations that arise carefully and with thought.

Stanley distinguishes itself from the rest. These kids come out lifelong learners, principled and balanced citizens!
We love Stanley and couldn't recommend it more!

My student is in the transitional kindergarten program at Stanley. This class is a perfect fit for him and our family because of the individual care and support our young 5 needs to be ready for Stanley's multiage program next year. His favorite part of the day is choice time, which gets him involved in class right away each morning in a fun and creative way. He also loves dance, music, library time, PE and recess with his friends. I can't imagine sending him anywhere but Stanley. The community appreciates, celebrates, and supports my kiddo in a holistic and loving way.

Stanley British Primary used to be such a magical place. It was an incredible school that was full of collaboration, discovery, and community. Since Sumant, the new head of school, took over, this has all changed. He, and the other heads at the school, do not listen to the voices of the parents or the teachers. They are trying to make it much more academically rigorous and traditional, which is not what the school used to be about. Their website says beautiful things about their teaching philosophy, but in practice, this is not what is happening. For the amount of money you must pay to have your child(ren) go here, it is not worth the price. They also do a disservice to children who have learning differences, as they don't have the support needed to help these children to be successful.

As a teacher at Stanley BPS, I feel confident that our student's academic and social emotional needs are met through our hands on teaching/learning approach, emphasis on teacher/student relationship and child voice, as well as, through play. Stanley focuses on each individual WHOLE child and does a phenomenal job of differentiating instruction. During choice time, our students learn to problem solve, make decisions and take risks, all while playing. During core academic times (reading, math, writing, etc.), our students engage in activities that encourage them to think more deeply and authentically about each subject. For example, in reading, our students participate in book clubs where they interact more deeply with a text by asking questions, making connections, or inferring. After practicing these thinking strategies independently, we help facilitate a discussion where the students share their ideas and wonders while also listening to others opinions and perspectives. As a teacher, we are also able to model the importance of being lifelong learners by getting wonderful opportunities for professional development in areas we are passionate about. I love teaching at Stanley and feel so lucky to be apart of a community that genuinely cares about their teachers. I would highly recommend sending your child to Stanley BPS.

My kids have all had exceptionally positive experiences at Stanley. They have all been challenged academically and prepared for the next division and high school. Stanley has a strong parent community as well with opportunities to be involved in admissions, in the classroom and helping with events. As an extremely shy child Stanley allowed me to find my voice, to learn to speak up for myself and the things I believe in. I discovered who I am as a person, as a learner, and as a global citizen. My three children graduated from Stanley; the older they get, the more I realize the value of a their K-8 education. They always loved to come to school and because they were in the same classroom for three years at a time, they developed deep relationships with their very-dedicated teachers, who became trusted mentors. My kids were valued and accepted them for who they are, encouraging them to take risks, explore and become leaders. From kindergarten on, kids are encouraged to express themselves and develop their voice; due to this, my kids are all very comfortable public speakers.

There is also a great emphasis on social-emotional learning, teaching character and empathy. With the deemphasis on grades in the early years, Stanley does a good job of squelching overt competitiveness, so kids learn to value others for all of their different strengths, not just strict academic performance. Kids are celebrated for their artistry, their humor, their athletic skills, their compassion -- not just their test scores. My kids went to a large public high school, and they were very prepared academically and socially. In fact, the leaders and top-ranked students in their high school are often Stanley alums; Stanley kids are comfortable with themselves, not afraid to take leadership positions, and willing to go after their goals. I highly recommend Stanley.

We love Stanley British! We have been involved with Stanley since 2017 and couldn't be happier. The way they have handled in person learning with COVID has been outstanding. The Stanley environment has empowered my kids to embrace their individuality and love learning. My two high schoolers are in the top of their classes in an international baccalaureate program. Stanley has exceeded expectations for our family. We moved to Denver only two years ago. Finding a suitable school drove where we purchased a house. After touring numerous schools, we decided Stanley was the best fit for our family.

We made our decision based on the following attributes:

1) A joyful, kind, productive learning environment: We needed our children to be challenged in an age appropriate, exploratory, kind way. Our children love being at school and they are sad during vacations and on weekends. They've asked to live at school!

2) A diverse environment: We needed to be sure that our girls were not the only black kids in their class. We needed racial, socioeconomic, and glbt diversity to reflect the world we live in.

3) We needed experienced teachers and a low attrition rate. We did not want to hear about teachers leaving every year. We wanted strong, experienced teachers who wanted to be there. Stanley has that.

4) Kids can be kids. Playing and learning outside is not a privilege. It happens every day, many times a day. These kids play hard and have the filthy clothes to prove it.

5) The school wants parents to participate. Stanley believes in the "It takes a village" philosophy. Stanley appreciates all parents' participation whether it is in the classroom or behind the scenes. Parents' time contributions are always appreciated.

I would highly recommend Stanley. It is a special place. There is a school out there for every child. Stanley happens to be the best school for our girls.

I was a student a SBPS, now a senior in college, and I still carry with me the skills I learned at Stanley. I spent grades 3-8 here, and SBPS gave me an academic experience and skills that Im almost sure you cant find anywhere else. The school focused on learning in a hands-on and entertaining manner, inspired independent thinking, and laid a strong groundwork for the rest of my academic career. In short: Stanley taught me how to enjoy learning. Stanley British Primary School fostered independence, creative thinking, and leadership.

There is racism (and other forms of non-acceptance) in this school; and bullying, and tolerance for kids being bullied.

I am a Caucasian student that attended this school from K-8, but the racism I saw in this school has left me dismayed.
One thing to notice about this school is that the positive reviews, in my viewpoint, are misleading. They come from the handful of people that stuck around in this community, but once you get to know this place you'll realize that so many people leave it all the time - and with good reason.
Yes, this school does focus on character building, but what it doesn't say is that the majority of the students shrug it off and snort at the sound of it. The teachers are amazing, stellar, kind people; but the students that attend have a profound lack of appreciation and they are often bullying each other to a disgusting degree. I remember more than a few students being bullied so much because of their ethnic background that they left, were forgotten and never brought up again, even after some students offered to write apology letters. The school definitely tolerates racial bullying, and is not as diverse as they say it is, because by middle school, the number of people from non-Caucasian backgrounds drops to only three or four in the whole grade,. That's how bad the bullying is, and it is not limited to race. Sexuality, gender, socio-economic status, mental health, just being yourself... I've seen each and every one of these things be the subject of bullying many times over.

I would not recommend that you go to this school, or send your children to it; the administration paints a very deceiving picture, and they tend to focus more on how they try to teach character-building skills rather than how much the students actually use them.

Stanley British Primary School is where my son started at Stanley as a kindergartner and now an incredibly self-aware, empowered and academically resourceful and as engaged 5th grader. The intentional integration, social emotional development and academic instruction to teach the whole child. Stanley celebrates each students gifts and talents. Many schools purport to do this, but Stanley has been a pioneer of this approach for over 40 years. Stanley students can critically and creatively problem solve, connect their learning to the world around them, and effectively collaborate and communicate with culturally and socioeconomically diverse groups of students. Stanley diagnosed my son's dyslexia,provided resources in his learning and embraced this gift instead of label/isolate him. He now is learning to be a leader to help others be successful with different learning capabilities. My family is privileged to be a part of this special school - I wish every child could have a Stanley BPS education as it celebrates the individual child with a focus on the their gifts and talents. The head of school has integrity and leads rather than react and the students are taught to self advocate.

My daughter started at Stanley as a kindergartner and is now an incredibly self-aware, empowered and academically resourceful and engaged 9th grader. Speaking as the parent of a 7th grader and a graduate (10 years so far at the school), Stanley is a very special place for kids and families! Student excitement about learning is palpable, from the new kindergarteners making self- portraits to the middle schoolers confidently explaining their science fair projects. Teachers devote their attention not only to creating stimulating lessons leading to academic discovery and practice, but also addressing the whole child through building respectful classroom communities and helping kids to discover who they are as learners. Read Elizabeth Green's "Building a Better Teacher" to understand more about why the Stanley philosophy and approach to teaching works so well to prepare kids for life after middle school. Stanley encourages kids to be curious about the world around them and to pursue their interests, while also developing the skills they'll need after they graduate.

Sending our three children to Stanley BPS is the best parenting choice we've ever made! Each child has been treated as an individual by the most caring, intelligent and dedicated teachers on the planet. The head of the school is brilliant, open and humble and has done an excellent job to ensure the sustainability of this remarkable place. When you walk into a classroom, you immediately notice the strong mutual respect between teachers and students. One result of this is a happy and engaged class (teachers and students) where students experience the joy and pride of discovery from having "uncovered" learning rather than having it "covered" by the teacher. This method requires truly active engagement by both the student and the teacher and you can witness it every day. I wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful school.

We have two children who attend Stanley British Primary School, one in 1st grade and one in Kindergarten. We heard about Stanley when our girls were still babies from close friends of ours whose children attended Stanley from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Stanley is a warm and inviting school - as a newer family to the school, we have been immediately included as part of the Stanley family. Our 1st grader attended Stanley for Kindergarten as well last year and she had an amazing first year. The teachers and interns are phenomenal - the children are truly listened to, cared about, and met on their own individual levels in all areas: socially, emotionally, and academically. Parent involvement is an integral part of the Stanley experience, and Stanley makes it possible for parents who work both in and outside of the home. We absolutely love Stanley!

As a parent of two Stanley students, I do not understand comments about the headmaster and about the preferential treatment of "jocks". First, the headmaster is outstanding and one of the brightest educators I have known. Yes, the school does have to work within its own budget, and it is his job to be sure that happens. Within the Stanley community, he is revered and held in very high esteem. The "jocks" comment makes no sense at all -- maybe the person meant to review a different school? Athletics are embraced at Stanley, but there is a noncompetitive atmosphere and I cannot recall meeting any students who are intensely focused on athletics. As for the emphasis on test taking -- I am flummoxed by this comment. My kids have only ever been given one formal assessment test, and the teacher called to ask my permission first. Every teacher knows his or her students very well here and we feel fortunate to be part of it all.

I have been a fan of Stanley BPS for many years but I feel I must add my voice to several here who have written about mission drift and a different direction that the school has taken in recent years. This was a school founded on the principles of love of children, love of learning, curiosity, curriculum skillfully interwoven, and teachers following the interests of the child. This is all eloquently stated in the school s materials. Sadly, very little of it holds true any more. There is now much more focus on adult-oriented goals, test scores, and top-down curriculum (as well as on fundraising). My middle school student, who began at Stanley with a joyous Kindergarten teacher, is overloaded with homework and tests. The school is no longer a place where individuals are celebrated nor where children are free to take risks to learn about themselves. They are getting pushed through the cookie cutter of traditional schooling and parents can find that option anywhere for a lot less money. There are still some good teachers at Stanley, but less curiosity. Take care to compare the information you receive with what is really happening in classrooms, particularly 3rd grade and up.

Stanley is a wonderful community of students, teachers, parents and administration. From top to bottom, Stanley is truly a "community of joyful, lifelong learners." There is support throughout the community and the administration is one that leads by example. I'm convinced that there isn't a happier place that exists. From the moment you walk into the school, it's apparent that the students and teachers are all thrilled to be there. Schools like this are rare and it's a privilege to be a part of such a beautiful family.

The idea of this school is grand, but execution falls short. I am extremely frustrated with the headmaster who is unresponsive to parent concerns. There are some wonderful teachers and an equally wonderful parent community, but vision and leadership are lacking.

If I had rated this school 11 years ago when our first child started here it would have been 5 stars, long story short awful administrators over dedicated, but frustrated teachers. They lost their vision and mission, so sad!

As a first year teacher, I could not imagine a more supportive or engaging school to begin my career. Stanley's administration treats staff members with the utmost respect, allowing all teachers and staff members to take risks, challenge themselves, find joy in their work, and focus on the most important thing: the students. Many teachers have stayed at Stanley for 10+ years due to this environment and I cannot imagine a better place to teach or to send a child.

Stanley BPS has been an amazing school for both my children. The environment and community is so different than how we learned growing up. My kids are loved, honored and treasured by their teachers, staff and their diverse group of peers. They have learned to be confident in their strengths and to work on their weaknesses. Both my children take educational risks daily because they feel so comfortable and supported by their community. I truly believe the world would be a different place if the Stanley philosophy was widespread in current schools. Our family feels truly blessed and grateful to be a part of this community.

Stanley is a wonderful school with an incredible philosophy supported by amazing leadership, educators, staff and families. The school community is warm, friendly and welcoming as well as incredibly inclusive - embracing and celebrating diversity in its many forms. Parent involvement and participation is encouraged in both the classroom and the broader school - which is run very transparently. The thoughtful curriculum intentionally takes into account the development of a child as a unique individual, and supports an individual learning path, while also promoting working together in groups. Multi-age classrooms combined with exceptional teachers able to differentiate curriculum allows my children to learn at a level appropriate to them as individuals. In addition to a rich academic and arts education, social emotional programming is very thoughtfully interwoven into the school experience which results in an incredible sense of classroom and school community, and a sense of comfort and belonging for every child in the school. Happy children who love school and love to learn - what more could you ask for?

We love this school! Our children have learned how to be empathetic,kind and gracious. They trust their teachers,feel safe in the classroom and the playground,and have gained confidence beyond their years. The teachers and the administration are very warm and inviting. Coming from the public school system, this is quite a welcome change. The way the students learn is through uncovering material in creative ways that best align with their learning style. Children are encouraged to learn "by doing" versus just reading from a text or putting pencil to paper. Looking in to the middle school, we see the most confident,well-adjusted,kind and smart individuals. What more could we ask for?

We have had all of our children at Stanley. Unfortunately, over the past several years we have seen a steady decline in the quality of staff and more importantly the quality of leadership. The past head of school and founder was a brilliant woman with her mind only on the best for the children. She had created a beautiful community of commitment to that ideal. However, the new headmaster is interested only in money, and focuses on that end. They are now plagued by turnover of great teachers replaced by mediocre new college grads and families leaving in droves. Sorry to say we are among them. We are not rich, we are academicians and there is no room for us in this community.

Our girls love Stanley. They are excited to come to school every day. The teachers are incredible- very caring and supportive, and they know each child very well.

We decided to send our son to Stanley after visiting many other private schools and considering our local public option. The school was just what we were looking for- non-pretentious, warm, happy students and parents. We've now been there for five years and we have found the experience to be very postive for us and our child. The teachers are caring and responsive to our input. If you are looking for a private school that cares about academics and character and does not feel elitist, Stanley is the place.

This school is very bad. We paid a hundred grand, and watched our son be bullied after repeated attempts to have it stopped that fell on deaf ears. They only cater to the rich and the jocks. The education is a joke. Your kid will not be prepared for advanced education. STAY AWAY. No leadership or direction, just bullies and jocks. No room for creative types or non-jocks. No room for your kid if you don't make big money.

I am the parent of two Stanley students who are different in personality and learning style and I love the fact that both are served so well at Stanley. The school really lives its commitment to serving the whole child- academically and social/emotionally, and we love the inclusive, non-pretentious community. Teachers are extraordinarily committed to each child's success.

We have seen such growth in our child over the five years she's been at Stanley. She has such wonderful confidence about her as she prepares to move to high school. We couldn't be more pleased or appreciative of all that Stanley's teachers have done for her.

Stanley is a warm, welcoming community. It has a strong emphasis on what they deem "social and emotional development" and this has become a growing part of the curriculum over the past few years. I think as a result, the academics have suffered and higher performing children aren't sufficiently challenged. The math program has specifically fallen short and while the school has endeavored to strengthen this area, I've yet to see broad-based improvements. Additionally, there is an apparent reticence toward testing, so reports of successes/shortcomings tend to be more anecdotal than quantitative.
