I refuse to sugarcoat the situation: this school is a threat to each and every student.

Upon the discovery of depressed/suicidal thoughts and behaviors in certain students, the school, rather than helping, either forces the student to leave the school or expels them in order to maintain a pristine-looking reputation.

Do not let this school fool you, and never send your children here if you care about their safety.

This school is wonderful. I have been a student here my entire life, pre-K through middle school. I truly believe there is no better private school than this one. The learning experience is amazing. The teachers make sure that the content is good and fun. The teachers and other faculty make sure every child is comfortable where they're at, while supporting the three main pillars of the school. Boldly Christian, Academically Equipped, Globally Prepared. Throughout my time as a student, I've seen that they support all three of these things in many different ways, often good. I know that whenever a student is in a rough situation and needs emotional support, there are always many staff members and fellow students that will be there for them. And even though this is a definite Christian school with a ton of believers, there are of course students and families that don't. But, the school does a great job of supporting all students, while still inspiring and sharing the love of Jesus. When there is a situation that needs to be dealt with, publicly or privately, they take care of it in the best way, and make sure of it. Of course there are going to be complaints about a certain thing and the school is not perfect, but they do a great job at a lot of things. While the curriculum can be challenging, it strengthens us. The staff is always the best part of the classroom. I believe that the reason that I love the curriculum is because of the teachers who teach it, and try to make it fun and engaging. That makes so much of a difference. I can't count how many devoted staff members that I've connected with at the school that are just such great and uplifting people! The engagement between the staff and families is awesome. Here's why. There are events and orientations that keep the guardians involved in what their child is learning. A majority of teachers in pre-k and elementary send out weekly or monthly emails to the parents to keep them updated. A few of the middle school staff does that as well. The term partners fits it perfectly. Recently, the school started a program called I-ed (Individualized Education), that has dedicated teachers to help students who need more help with understanding content, and so much more. The school tries really hard to stay and become as secure as possible. I would love to go here for high school, as I've heard it has many great things as well. The new superintendent is very dedicated, and has done a lot of good things. RCS for life!

They dont actually care about students wellbeing, they just care if the school looks good on paper. Had a crush on the same gender, someone read the diary it was revealed in class, and I got in bigger trouble than they did. Christian student body and like half dont even believe in God. They just go there cause of their parents. I will say most of the teachers are nice, though.

My daughter has been a student since preschool and is now in high school. Our family loves RCS!! This school has been a blessing!! The staff is outstanding!! Every child is loved! The communication between parents and teachers is amazing!

We started our child here in kinder and have been thrilled with everything. Its about the people who work here, they love what they do and it shows. Its an incredible community we could never leave.

This school has changed in the past 4 years. I am not sure they really do care about kids, supporting them, helping them and partnering with parents. They are not transparent and for being a Christian school choose to judge, stereotype and make assumptions. Communication and really listening is lacking at this school as well. While there are many wonderful families that go here, I do not believe a good amount of these kids are raised with values of kindness and acceptance, but entitlement, rude and mean. Makes me sad. Satan is working in this world and at this school.

We are finishing up our first year here and it has been better than we expected. The faith and support is defiantly 5 stars. Its not perfect, as its a big school and there will always be a complaint at any school no more where it is, but when there is a problem they take control and fix it and not let it go Ignored. Teachers are good, some better than others, different styles. We will be attending again this next year as its a good fit for our son. We dont see any fights, drugs, etc. Kids are faith based and students are proud of that. My son is surround by kids of good influence and who are college bound. So far so good!!!!

We are so grateful for finding this school. It has been a wonderful learning and growing experience for our son. Highly recommend this school if you are looking for a more intimate learning environment for your children.

The currently Superintendent is only about promoting himself. He is all about optics, not about supporting the teachers or students. He doesnt have time for anything but getting rid of any staff who disagrees with him. He is not a good leader, but someone who rules by fear of being fired. He does not demonstrate grace, but vindictiveness. In one year he has turned a once vibrant Christian school who cared about developing the students hearts for God, into a snobby prep school whose priority is all about image. Unfortunately, most of the staff and families that would like to leave have little options in Northern Colorado. So, by default they stay, even though they do not agree with where he is taking the school. If you are looking for a true Christian education for your child that is not a prep school, this is NOT the school for you.

This middle and high school are going in the wrong direction. Its not Christ centered anymore. It starts at the top. The Administration is ruled by a militant Superintendent that only cares about moneyraising tuition, deciding which students are redeemable or which need to leave (via private phone calls), fundraising and designing lavish sports complex. Moral from the students, parents, faithful teachers and administration is low.
I cant wait until a Christ centered leader is at the head where Children of all ages are valued, loved and being taught forgiveness.
God will prevail but until then I can not recommend this Christian school.

This is our third year at RCS and our first middle school year. Middle-school has opened a whole new world for our older child and the teachers and principal deserve all the credit. Our younger child has received so much love and support, and the teachers have been willing to meet with us to either problem solve how to improve or provide updates. The engagement of the teachers into the lives of our children has helped them grow academically, socially, and spiritually. We are blessed to be part of the RCS family!

The people who are saying that this school lacks integrity and hates previous students and aren't accepting towards people who are different than them are sadly hurt individuals who probably misunderstood what happened to them or intentionally are trying undermine this amazing school's credibility. I saw one person complaining about fall vacation. What a joke, you are simply trying to find things to complain about if you complain about receiving a vacation. I graduated from RCS and I would highly recommend to anyone wondering if they should send their kids here. This school prepared me for college and I find CSU's workload incredibly easy because of RCS.

Allen Howlett is the best Superintendent in the state of Colorado, and took RCS from a state of irrelevancy to among the greatest academic and athletic schools in a matter of a few short years.

My husband is a 17 year public school principal and we were so impressed with RCS that we enrolled both our kids in the high school. Their level of academics, culture and facilities are unsurpassed. You feel the RCS difference in the hallways where your child is not a number and everyone is excited to be a part of your school experience. College preparedness is exceptional and nearly 100% of the graduating seniors receive some form of scholarship for their post graduate education. The high school curriculum includes a year long ACT/SAT prep class and a global mission trip with the senior class is a required experience. Take a tour. It will be worth your time.

Despite everything else I have read, both positive and negative, about this school, one thing I can say with absolute certainty is that from the highest levels of administration, through the ranks of the teachers, and down to the lowest levels of the volunteer staff, these people, and this school, care very deeply for the wellbeing of their students. And it does not end there, they care a great deal for the student's families as well. We have 5 children in this school, and from the very first day until today, they have shown both us and our children enormous, and honestly, unheard of, levels of care and compassion. I do recommend this school to anyone, especially homeschool parents, or parents who desire to remain intimately involved with their childrens' lives as they embark on their journey through school. Thanks to all who have cared for us, and have helped our children to succeed in life.

As a parent of 3 college freshmen who graduated from RCS (our twins who attended RCS Preschool through High School, and a Korean exchange student who lived with us all through high school), I'm so thankful for the life preparation RCS provided each of them. All 3 are thriving in college, well prepared for college life academically, socially and spiritually. I always loved each phase at RCS - preschool, elementary, middle school and high school - for the complete experience they were getting. Now that we're in the "pay for college" phase, I'm grateful for the huge scholarships and college credits they earned because of RCS's excellent college prep program. Those scholarships and college credits are saving us significantly more than we paid for their RCS education, not just for high school, but for preschool through graduation! Beyond the priceless spiritual and social foundations RCS gave them, it's like we "made more than we paid" for their academic success as well. Plus they're getting to do college sports and music, thanks to the great athletics, music & fine arts at RCS.

After 8 years of attending Rez, our family has recently moved across the country to start our new lives in Virginia. It was a rather unexpected move, and I never would have guessed that we would be leaving. I know my parents didn't expect this either because they even started paying the tuition to Rez through the summer, which they did not get refunded. As our move was so unexpected, we were unable to say goodbye to many of our Rez friends and teacher. On the first week of school, (our last week here in Colorado) my mom encouraged me to take my sister and brother to visit the school one last time during lunch.It was the end of the week and we were packed up and leaving early Saturday morning to drive across the country to our new home. It truly would be out last chance to say goodbye. But when we showed up at the office, we were told to immediately leave the campus. In fact, Becky Lohr's exact words were, "This is a closed campus, and you know this!" Then my sister Bella asked if she could as least use the restroom, and she was told no. We had to leave IMMEDIATELY! She couldn't even use the restroom?! We obviously didn't expect this, especially after seeing so many visitors come and go during lunch time for the past eight years. It really hurt us deeply to be turned away like this. Rez has been like a second home to us, and I still cannot understand why we were treated like a security threat when we came to say goodbye. We were not strangers, and I think that even a stranger would have been allowed to use the restroom. The worst part is that every time I think of Colorado or Rez, I get hurt and angry all over again. Even my parents were shocked that we were treated that way. They said that you would think paying a couple thousand dollars towards this school year would at least get us a 20-minute lunch! It feels like the second we stopped writing checks to Rez, they kicked us to the curb... Literally!

I really hate that after all these years, things had to end this way. I really needed to get this off my chest so that I can forgive and move on. I hope that Rez can find a way to provide security without making past students feel rejected and hurt in the process. That just doesn't seem like the Christian way to treat people.

If your child is different in any way do not send them here, middle school is a sales pitch, 6th grade is sold great but 7th and 8th booooo I am a student and this school was terrible, the math program was a mess and I will just say, it is not worth the money. There is no acceptance for different people, everyone here doges problems and ignores everyone else, I have been rejected by teachers and judged wrongly, Rcs was the hardest school to go to they ask for way too much money, I can't judge for high school but I will never come back.

Just a response to he review about finances. As the information is incorrect. If it was really a parent they would not state "the school would be shut down for a week to accommodate more paying attendees to some conference" as that did not happen. If really another parent, I have no problem with the feelings they may have, but the review is factually incorrect. The school did not shut down to accommodate more paying attendees to some conference. The conference was unaffiliated with the school or their finances, but on the same property. The two days were accounted for in school schedule snow days, and were the result of "traffic, security, parking, and overlap, I am confident that the logistic challenges are too great to overcome for the pre-school, elementary and middle school". A small group was trying to generate negative publicity surrounding that conference and I suspect the review may have been retaliatory likely not from a parent - as this is not a normal occurrence during our tenure at the school.

Amazing school. The teachers are genuinely concerned about each kid and their families. The entire school really is like a family reaching out to others in times of need. I can't say enough about the academics but more importantly the life skills my kids are learning! Highly recommend this school.

We have 2 children at Rez, and we all love it. Our kids are excited to go to school, and when we pick them up, they talk non-stop about the incredible day they've had. Their teachers are wonderful. They send us weekly updates so we know exactly what to expect, and what the class has been learning. I would say, 4 out of 5 days you will see the principle walking the halls, checking on classes, and she says hello to us-(the parents!) by NAME. The entire staff is amazing, and has been a second family to us. We were supposed to relocate out of state, and had our childred tested for new schools, and they both tested 2 grades ahead. We are very happy to be here!!

We have two kids at this school. They are on their third year at RCS. This school is the best school in Northern Colorado. The Superintendent is a strong leader and is backed by all of the teacher and parents. Students show respect for each other and are proud of their school. Academically RCS is at the top in the state and in the nation. They also have a very strong sports program. We love it. You got to check it out.
