As a student going at New Vision charter school I can say that it is hell there. When I come home I am tired of all that had happened in the day. If you signing your kid up for NVCS dont! (Unless you want your kid to be annoyed when they get home.)

Most people that leave reviews today are dissatisfied with something about the product or service they are reviewing. I am not that person. I have to really express the gratitude I feel for this school. I am able to volunteer in my childrens classes, so my family engagement approval is high! We are communicated with as much as we choose. I rated the school high on safety because of the measures they take to ensure the safety of all of their students. A great example of this occurred just last week: I was volunteering in my daughters class. A teacher saw me in the hallway, and did not see my visitor tag. She respectfully approached me and asked if I had a visitor tag. I feel this is excellent work, to ensure the safety of ALL children. As for special education, my experience is low in this area, but in speaking with other parents, they speak highly of the accommodations and help the school gives. In the area of social and emotional support, I have to really give high praises here. One of my older children was having behavioral issues at her school and at home. This began affecting my son. After communicating with the staff, my son was given the opportunity to meet with counselors to help him understand what he was feeling. This was such a big help to me and my wife. Hands down, best response we could have asked for. As for teaching, or the teachers. I have a lot of respect for the teachers. Without naming specific teachers, the four teachers that my children have had are remarkable. They have become friends to my children beyond the school year. My son was overjoyed to be able to invite two of his teachers to his baptism. And they came or went a gift! Amazing! This review was prompted by two recent experiences. My daughters teacher was gone and a substitute for the day was present. My daughter really missed her teacher, simply because she teaches me so much. My daughter was so sad to have a substitute. The second experience is from my son. He was given a project to research an animal of his choice. The opportunity to present on his animal had him so excited to teach people about the platypus. Its a big deal because my son hates public speaking. I love that my kids can be comfortable in a usually uncomfortable place.

New Vision offers a safe, supportive learning environment. Coming from a school within TSD, this school is more responsive to parent concerns, administration gets back to parents in a timely manner, and it is clear that behavior and academic expectations are higher than other schools in the district. Having a student with special needs, we also noticed that there is a higher level of student support and advocacy for our students. New Vision has offered more insight into the support our student is receiving and truly partners with families on their student's education. Our student came to NVCS with little to no social circle and the kids were welcoming and now they look forward to coming to school every day to have time with their friends.

The teachers at New Vision are truly remarkable. They are not only highly skilled and knowledgeable but also deeply passionate and genuinely invested in the success of their students. The personal attention and tailored support my children have received have made a significant impact on their academic progress and overall development.

The administration and staff are equally impressive. Their open communication and proactive approach ensure that any concerns are addressed promptly and effectively. They foster a welcoming atmosphere where parents feel valued and heard, which has greatly enhanced our confidence in the school's ability to meet our children's needs.

The school counselors at New Vision deserve special recognition for their outstanding work with my children. this school is not a good school.the office staff are highly rude to parents/students and they will target random kids with no reason whatsoever.the teachers are ok but the office staff make this school a horrible place.for example my child was being targeted and the office started to watch her through cameras wherever she would go throughout the school.

We are so proud to be part of New Vision. It's been amazing for our children! They have given them so many opportunities from field trips to life cycles of animals chickens and butterflies to living through the life on the Oregon Trail and Immigration. All the staff go above and beyond for their classrooms! The counselor has lunch with every student at least one time a year to get to know them.

We have been at this school for over 7 years with several kids. Before the school divided into two campuses, I would recommend the school to everyone. It used to be the best school in Loveland and we felt very lucky to be apart of it. Since then, the admin of the K-3 campus ruined the culture of the school. She is a dictator, says what you want to hear, does not tell the upper admin of the issues parents bring up, limits activities for kids and does not inform the parents or the teachers that she has capped activities to one per year... so parents are just hoping and waiting for expected activities and they just don't happen. They tell her how upset they are and she just ignores it until the families leave and she never tells the upper admin or the board. Very disappointing that they have left her on staff. The school will thrive if she is removed.

We have been at NVCS for 4 years and it is unbelievable how much this school has gone down hill. Short staffing has really effected the school, specifically the 4-8 campus.
Untrained, uneducated staff are working with children with little to no training in positive guidance, de-escalation techniques, or classroom management and it shows.
There is only 1 counselor available for a school of 600+ pre-teen students. So if your child has any disabilities, mental illness, or just doesn't fit into the typical "box" do not make your child suffer through this school. Expectations and consequences vary for students depending on who their parents are. There is very little resources for any children who have any differences at all and the staff are unwilling to comply with IEP or 504 plans. Bullying has also been a HUGE problem this year at both campuses and very little gets done about it, unless you get the Loveland PD involved. I will say we had a much better experience with the K-3 campus and staff, but overall I am very disappointed with the education and treatment my children have received at this school.

Our children have greatly improved, especially in reading and writing since starting at New Vision last year. There is also zero bullying, and instead the focus for all students is being the best they can be. We love this school!!!!

My son is deaf and wears cochlear implants. He has been given amazing support at school, and any issue we faced, the school has gone out of their way to ensure we are well taken care of.

As we continue to learn the new normal with Covid-19. NVCS continues to impress me. They have created a wonderful online learning platform for students so they can continue learning. The teachers have been working SO HARD behind the scenes to not only provide a good education, but to make sure to keep great connection with each of the kids. Our teacher has even set up video chats to check on our son! Such a loving environment. We have a new school that is being built right down the street from us and we will chose to go to NVCS because of the great staff and learning programs they have in place.

So far, so great. Our son loves it, most importantly. Feedback from his teachers is great. When visiting the school, the teachers and staff seem to enjoy each other and their jobs, which the kids (and parents) can sense. It is a great public school option, not focused on one-dimensional achievement and perceived status like other alternatives, but instead teaches compassion, character, and grit.

NVCS has exceeded my expectations. I give it a 10/10.

To be clear, my kids' aren't having 10/10 days, every day. They have up days, and down days. They have good years, and bad years. They have great teachers and bad teachers.

Overall, the administrative team works with parents to address issues. The administrative team works with the board to improve the school. The administrative team works with the community to improve the external standing of the school.

The team at the school is working to improve, everyday.

I'm a fan of that. So, they get 10/10.

I would give New Vision a 10/10. They are a school of choice and have high expectations for their staff, require their teachers to be highly qualified under Colorado Department of Education standards, focus on teaching the whole child, and ensure no students fall through the cracks. As an individual with two NVCS graduates I can say that we are so thankful that NVCS provided our students with the skills to not only be strong students, but great citizens.

There is a great balance of in class instruction and homework at NVCS. My students both graduated from the school and have thrived in high school because they were given strategies for time management, how to seek support when they were confused, and how to organized themselves for success.

I was thought that school was a happy place where curiosity was developed among children. But not in our case, this school was a perfect description of verbal and emotional abuse that came from school, staff and students. The school created such an unpleasant environment for both of us. The things that they have done continued to be a nightmare for us. They did so much damage to our family, that I could not wait when this year would be over and we could move on to a new school, far away from their dysfunctional environment. This is what they do. They find a child that may be not confident, may be from a low-income household, may be a single parent household, may be African-American descend (FYI: there are no black kids there), and they start picking at him/her until they are mentally/psychologically/emotionally broken. Please do not take away your childs happiness and desire for learning, curiosity, love, peace and balance. Please be your kids advocate, and follow your intuition.

Outstanding Leadership- Very experienced principal that just started this year. The school has high expectations for their students. High achieving middle school-ranks near the top in the area. Parents are invited to volunteer and be part of the school. Great learning environment with a family atmosphere. Students aren't allowed to "slip through the cracks."

Love the core knowledge curriculum. As other reviews have pointed out, it's a safe/supportive/friendly environment. You can tell most kids love going to school there every day - and they received personalized attention from teachers. No, as a smaller school it doesn't have every activity a larger (middle) school may offer, but they support activities outside of school (recognition for student success in club sports for example) and as a family, we prefer the K-8 consistency and ability to have our kids in 1 school together longer, rather than switching schools in middle school. Note: there is a very experienced new Principal joining NVCS in the 2016-17 year.

Have not had any bullying issues, kids feel safe asking for help resolving any interpersonal issues. Citizenship overall is stressed heavily. It's truly one of the strengths of the school. The middle schoolers especially are high-achieving all around good kids. A great influence for the younger students!

The teachers at NVCS are very welcoming and on top of things, along with the rest of the staff. However, this school offers no extracurriculars other than their limited amount of choice sports. They also do not use their money well (such as on unneeded technology), and the curriculum does not fit the majority of the students.
I would consider NVCS a safe place for students (there, bullying is almost nonexistent) and, most of the time, the students are heard out for what they think.

The teachers at New Vision are amazing. My kids are in 4th and 6th grade and we've been with the school since kindergarten. The school is well run. My kids feel very safe and I feel the discipline is appropriate and fair. My kids are also well supported academically.

Our children started at NVCS since they opened in 2006 and all of them have had GREAT experiences. The staff is amazing--committed to children, great at communicating home, and the administration provides a lot of professional development, more than the district average. We like that it is a little more rigorous, which has helped our older kids be successful starting high school. The small size is definitely a plus, especially for middle school years. (My son had 10 kids in his Algebra class!). There are sports and clubs and a lot of opportunities for community service, such as National Junior Honor Society. I would definitely recommend NVCS. Don't make your decision without visiting and getting multiple student/parent opinions first!

Like any school this one has had turnover with its staff. I have to agree with the previous parent review in the fact that the schools principal replacement was inexperienced. The teachers overall are great. PTO leader(s) could be more professional. Seems to be alot of favoritism with certain students.

This particular school has to be one of best I have ever seen. After searching for what seemed like ever to find a school that my son would truly enjoy attending, this was the one that we chose. The teachers are excellant and go out of their way to help each and every child. The classes are of a manageable size so that each student gets the most one on one instruction possible unlike so many of the public schools where the children are just a number. Parents are strongly encouraged to participate in their childs education in many different ways which is such a rare thing to see in a school these days. My only regret is that it is currently only a K-8. Hopefully when the day comes that my son will be heading for the 8th grade, they will have been able to extend the grades offered to the 12th and he will be able to graduate from in my opinion "One of Lovelands best schools available". Keep in mind that not every individual will have the perfect opinion and only the bad ones will usually sing out but from what I have seen and experienced there is much more good than any bad i have personally seen.

Having put our oldest through the Thompson Valley School system, we decided to go a different route with our younger children. Lets just say that 1 semester at New Vision equates to 1.5-2.0 years in the Thompson Valley School system. I really love the teachers at Namaqua, Walt Clark & TVHS, but the union / "Big Education" system is not the right fit for us or our kids. Parents really care and spend a lot of time at the school. Just to give a small example. I have tried to volunteer 3-4 times, but within 10-15 minutes of an email going out the slots are all filled. If you want your child to be challenged, send them here. If you want your child to be ready for the real world, send them here. If you want your child ready to deal with what the expectations of modern life brings, send them here. If you want a conventional public school education, send them through the Thompson Valley School system. The TVSS is not bad, but its average. If you want above average go here. PS: I'm almost certain that the folks writing the recent bad reviews are those that want nothing more than to limit your choice in schools. New Vision is everything you want in a private school but uses your tax dollars.

This school is just ok/average. Love the teachers that they currently have and the "specials" like Spanish and Art (WONDERFUL teachers), just don't like all the drama with constant switching of teachers and the extra drama that comes with the parents and mentality of "we're better than everyone else". This school went from excellent to great to just ok. Undecided if my two will return next year...

This school left a bad taste in my mouth. The quality of the teaching was excellent in my opinion. I just honestly don't like all of the politics that came with this school. I hope to hear of it turning around as it once was the talk of Loveland (and not in a bad way!)

To my immense disappointment, one full school year here was too long. My young child was punished by being sent to the principal's office for interrupting the teacher. The principal abruptly quit right after the school year began leaving in her place an inexperienced man to fill her shoes. I watched my child's self esteem crumble as she was told to "behave like the other children". She began to resent school and made no friends. After voicing my concerns to her teacher, I still saw no improvement in her attitude towards school. This was very disheartening to me. Upon further investigation, I've found that a large % of the staff has been there for 3 years or less, with the AVERAGE being 1-2 years. Teachers and aides come and go as if this were a child care facility vs. a school. The teachers that do stay are good for the most part. However, the "Stepford Child" mentality is very unsettling. I am here to tell you that the titles "Charter School" and "Core Knowledge" mean nothing if there is not consistency or positive leadership. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone and have found a local public school to be much better.

I have been at New Vision for eight years. I just finished my eighth grade year. The teachers really do have the best in mind for the students. They want each and every student to their best, but will crack down and give you the information or grade you deserve. The principal is one of the best the school has ever seen, and he loves the school and the kids. The staff wants each and every student to do their best and will cater to what they need, but in return expect that the student will do what they need to succeed. Yes, we have dealt with some bulling in the past, but we no longer have that problem thanks for the wonderful teachers and administration. I recommend this school 100%, it is far better than any other elementary/middle school in town.

I am a parent of 3 children at this wonderful school. Almost all the teachers have a masters degree from what I have been told. This is highly unusual for most schools, especially charter schools. What's important is that kids are challenged and still like school at the end of the day. My GT child is challenged and my others are making huge gains. The new administration is the best yet. Mr. B loves the kids and is very fair with consequences. He is visible and approachable. At our small school, families know each other. The previous comments probably come from parents of children who were bullies, destructive, dangerous, or who have kids with needs that are too severe for this small staff to address. Bullying is not tolerated, which usually is considered a good thing. Make a wise choice.

My son was treated like a criminal by the administration for behaving like a typical seven year old boy. We were pushed out of the school with threats and extreme disciplinary measures. There is currently no principal, only a vice principal who is punitive and inexperienced for his position. The teachers were wonderful, but ultimately unable to help my child.

Horrible principle and vice principle. Every other year there's new ones! Current ones are rude so is front office receptionists. Great teachers, and special education teachers are top notch. Would never recommend this school though because children are picked apart. If they aren't doing as well as expected they are made to feel as though they aren't. Have had to yank both children out.

Where do I start. How bought that this school is a horrible school. I actually attended this school for seven years and left it just the following. Not only is the academics lacking but the staff is horrible lazy and unreliable including the principle Mrs.whatever. Also if you ask me the whole school put of an image that they are better and smarter then any public school, which is very stuck up and rude. The kids are also mean probley because the majority of them come from upper class family's or what not. I hated this school so much never want to here of it again they have all done a horrible job, so congratulations for making a living hell for children bravo!!!

We have been thrilled with the teachers at NVCS. Our children have received an excellent education: they are performing above grade-level and our GT child has been challenged by the classroom teacher. Their test scores show consistent growth. The teachers at this school care deeply about children and their growth. Our children come home excited about learning and want to go back to school the next day.

I have to respond to the review below titled, "They care more about money and appearances than the students." It appears they don't even have the correct school. There is always someone at the front desk (I am there daily), the students don't take the CLEP at NVCS, and the school deals swiftly with bullying and doesn't tolerate it.

This school is good for the solid average student, but if your child is gifted or has special needs this is not a good school for them. I also did not care for the "better then everyone else" attitude I felt from the office staff and some parents. We chose to leave this school and I couldn't be happier with that decision .
