The school has been homophobic to me, Ive been treated differently than others and so has my group of friends compared to students who fit in. The majority of teachers dont care about how youre doing, just the work youre getting done, and most of the staff/teachers act supportive, but if your grades are bad they stop caring. Also some adults have this weird underlying racism thing that Ive been told about by students whove experienced it. I can name numerous times Ive been singled out and targeted by teachers, and because of that its made me strongly dislike school, Id go as far to say I hate school, and normally Im excited to learn, lately not so much.

First off the principal acts like he's all of that he's really not. He is disrespectful to parents and students if they don't like them, they favorite specifically rich white kids. They also target kids that they don't like such as searching them without calling a parent first, saying they had a reason to by a "safe2tell" which is never the case. My child has already been suspended three times for stuff she didn't and would never do as in threatening the school. My child never threatened the school because she has a past with that kind of stuff and finds it triggering. Over all just pick another school to send your kids to for there mental health and happiness.

Top notch middle school that teaches thru example . Teacher's and staff are caring and foster a caring community. When teacher's here say they are a tight knit family it isn't just words. Integrative services are amazing and special needs kids receive the support they need to thrive. Principal is caring and committed to making every kids experience a positive one. Children here learn more than just academics they learn to be complete human beings who care about each other and support each other. During this pandemic teacher's have gone the extra mile to stay connected and support their students. This is not a school that got lost in the shuffle of the pandemic but learned to work together thru it.
Proud to be a phoenix family!!!!

This school is terrible, the cleanliness is disgusting, the teachers are really uneducated and you get either ISS or OSS for doing even anything slightly bad exp: My brother got one week ISS for accidentally dropping some trash on the floor
If you need a Middle school to go to, this isn't the place, only reason this is a 2 star not a 1 star is the food is decent

I moved my 7th grader to Boltz in the middle of the school year last school year due to his grades dropping and a teacher harassing him at another school, it was the best move I could have ever made. My son's grades are up and he is empowered. This school year I also brought my 6th grader here through school of choice, he has Asperger's and he doesn't have a hard time at all the staff and students are very accepting and helpful! The staff and teachers here are amazing and they are definitely looking out for our children's best interests. The coaches teach the kids to have morals and great values along with great skills and sportsmanship! They teach the kids to be great people fist, then great students, and great athletes. We love Boltz, I would recommend this school to everyone, especially those who would like their children to have a well rounded educational experience!

Communication from teachers, principal and principal assistant via email is very unprofessional.
There was an incident involving my kid that never was investigated ignoring my request.

Horrible principal but caring teachers! Had to take our kids elsewhere as principals ego was too much to handle! Very self absorbed person with terrible leadership skills. Teachers cant stand her either!

I have had three children at Boltz over the past five academic years. In our experience, we have found Boltz to be a terrific place for our kids to go through the often challenging middle school years. Every one of my kids has experienced teachers who have shown caring and kindness to them. They have been challenged and have grown academically. Their critical thinking skills have been stretched and their writing skills improved. When one of my kiddos experienced a boy who was harassing her, it was appropriately addressed immediately and the harassment stopped. Boltz has a WEB Leader program and other school culture programs in place which encourage acceptance. Teachers and counselors have spent time to hear when I've expressed concerns and made adjustments as they are able. They have truly looked out for the best needs of my children. My kids and I feel welcomed at this school. The student population is both economically and socially diverse which is a huge positive in my book. Don't let test scores fool you. Boltz has a fantastic GT program and many, many dedicated and excellent teachers. My children have and are thriving here and I recommend this school to others.

I m a student; I m not the most popular kid or the outcast. But there are clicks; the parents don t get it unless you re the actual student. Most teachers don t seem to care if you pass or not. They treat the students like 5 years old. The bullying is out of hand! Rich to poor, pretty to ugly, minority to white, nerd to popular; it s all here. The teacher s don t care, if they do, their afraid to do anything to help. Teachers worry about people holding hands but not whether or not someone is getting harassed. Boltz needs to get it together. They only really care about the Pre-Ap kids, other than that the needs of students don t matter. Boltz is a wanting to-be 5 star rating academic school. If your child maybe has a hard time fitting in or a little "different" don t put them in this school. I have participated in this school and have made a great effort to fit in but the kids are disrespectful and rude. Teachers don t always care, and the average student is treated poorly. The favorites get everything. Same kids get the lead roles, and anything worthwhile. That's how it feels to be a kid who has been harassed because I m smart, and not most popular. I m sick of it. Good luck (:

Boltz is amazing!!! My daughter has been able to do great work while still have time for friends. It really allows her to learn without stress. Boltz has been a great school for my daughter and is a great pick for future reference.
