Poudre Is the best school out in fort collins, i feel like i belong in poudre and feel part of a community thanks to poudre, since the beginning poudre has open doors for everyone even if they dont want it and indeed is very supportive with ones decision, so overall poudre is indeed the best high school out their.

Very good school. Highest diversity in NoCo. Never had a very bad experience or ben bullied. I never see bullying and if a teacher does its stopped. Good College class and athletic program. Good coaches and teacher support system. If you live in the area, it's a no brainer to go here, I definitely wouldn't commute to FCHS or RMHS if you're closer to Poudre. Went here for 4 years and enjoyed most of it. Your kids (If they can find friends) will have a great time. People are outwardly weird all day long and I've never seen someone care. Have fun, make friends!

I would rate this school as poor. The counselors rarely have time to meet with students for post graduate career counseling/college prep or guidance counseling for scheduling AP classes. When an appointment is made, the appointment is repeatedly rescheduled or the counselor is out for the day.
Theft is rampant at this school, and minimal effort is made by administration to recover items such as a stolen winter coat or lunchbox when they are taken from the classroom. No, my student did not "lose it". He excused himself to use the restroom, and when he got back to class his winter coat had been taken from his chair and no-one "knew where it went".
The deans are overwhelmed by the shear volume of misbehavior that occurs on a daily basis. These are good people who want the best for their student population but cannot keep up with demands for their time.

The core curriculum teachers for the most part do an adequate amount required for their job. The foreign language teachers and AP teachers are excellent.

There is theft, aggressive behavior, and lack of respect by students to student peers and adults that occurs that the deans have difficulty dealing with.
We had a winter coat and a lunch box stolen, and a hard sided lunch box purposely broken "because it was funny".
There are however lots of posters around school promoting character traits but not enough is enforced. I think that the deans are overwhelmed with the amount of misbehavior that occurs on a daily basis.

The school does a good job giving many diverse choices for learning paths. They offer robotics, IB, AP, metal shop, wood shop, mathematics in construction, and an excellent foreign language program.

The deans have fallen short in this respect, even when the signs are physically obvious.
One example of several:
After school (on school grounds) my student was repeatedly struck by several other students causing bruising and cuts to his ribs, abdomen and face. He went to the deans immediately. He was told by one of the deans that the dean did not have time to meet with him that afternoon. After seeing the injuries, he recommended for my student to come back in the morning when the School Resource Officer was there. He went back in the morning, and the dean was "too busy" to meet with him and to come back later. He went back several more times to no avail before giving up. The bullying has continued with no repercussions to the other students by administration despite attempting to make additional reports about more occurrences.

I cannot understand how Great Schools gave Poudre High a score of 6 out of 10. With two boys, and a few transfers, we've come across several schools. This is one od the best. The Teachers, Faculty and Support Staff are absolutely top tier. I could not be more thankful for the education they gave my son.
