My daughter things were missed place or stolen and the school did nothing. They are unprofessional and all over the place, the kids basically run the school.

There's not too much homework, which I appreciate. There are plenty of long-term projects, especially in the IB diploma program, but students aren't overwhelmed with day to day busywork.

Teachers are collaborative and invested in their students. I've gotten calls and texts of concerns and thumbs up, even on their days off.

Adults in the building have an expectation of students to be their best selves. Students are seen and heard, which helps them be more receptive to both praise and correction.

Principal Brown, the APs, and the rest of the leadership team must do a lot of planning, because it all seems effective and smooth. They're also very receptive and welcoming to parents.

There's a great team that works hard to make sure all students have what they need to learn and to be well.

Bullying is not tolerated at Eastern, and honestly, it hasn't been an issue. It's amazing how well these kids get along.

I'm glad we chose Eastern for our students. My one and only complaint is that they offer only 1 world language. Other than that, they are academically challenging and offer an amazing array of extras, like debate, a medical sci academy, all the sports, jrotc, on and on. And the full IB program! Unless you live a great distance from Capitol Hill, there's no reason to go elsewhere.

Great school in one of the more suburban-like areas of Washington, DC. The teachers are great and many live in the area. In the years ahead, this school will prove to be a powerhouse institution in DC.
