Seabreeze is located in a beautiful neighborhood, and both my son and I love being a part of this school. We experienced a very distressing issue last year when administration used outdated contact information from the district system rather than our current emergency contacts, which severely impacted our family. However, we returned this year with clear precautions in place. The staff and administration have handled our situation with great care, caution, and understanding. We trust that they will maintain our privacy and follow our updated safety protocols moving forward.

I feel that this amazing school deserves a fresh review. This is a wonderful school and so glad that I made the decision to enroll my children here. When I first visited Seabreeze, the first thing I noticed is how bright, colorful and happy the school is. The teachers and faculty are amazing! Consistently through the years, teachers were very communicative in regards to my children's education, and often provided positive feedback. One of my children has special needs and this school has made such an impact on his education and skills with their structured IEP, caring and support. There is a lot of focus on STEM education here, which I appreciated as my kids have interest in tech and science. They really loved the field trips to Marine Science Center and the Space Camp. Now that my youngest has now graduated from this school, it is truly bittersweet for me as this school holds a special place in my heart and my children and I will miss it dearly.

Teachers are amazing, administration is atrocious. Save time and find another school. There are lots of other great options in this area of town.

School has been my favorite part of the day science Kindergarten. I recommend that you should pick this school, because you get great learning abilities and don't have to wear a uniform. You also can take days off if you have other plans or are sick. They even provide you lunch if you need it. I think Seabreeze is a great school!

Teachers support differentiated approaches for students but principal and administration at the school lacks a unified plan or takes into consideration feedback from parents for existing problems.

Posted: February 25, 2019

Multiple instances of bullying have been reported to the principal and administration. State mandated reports have not been properly filed and activities continue.

Posted: February 25, 2019

Teachers and support staff are great. The principal is disorganized and attempts to manage by intimidation. Dismissive of feedback.

Posted: February 25, 2019

Teachers at this school consistently go above beyond the individual school day despite lack of support from administration.

Posted: February 25, 2019

Leadership at this school is not consistent or effective. The principal does not take ownership for their actions or the school I have seen them blame teachers or others for their inability to manage or support students.

Our daughter is advanced and the teachers have always adjusted the learning for her so she is continually challenged.

Best principal in the district, hands down.

Our experience at Seabreeze has been great. From the leadership to the teachers to the community we have been brought in and made to feel like family.

Homework isnÂ’t just busy work to be done but designed for the child to engage in learning at home. It is also sent home on Friday giving the child and families more time to complete because they understand how busy kids and families are these days.

With the character counts awards and with the teachers reinforcing character as part of the learning.

My children tell me about some students who need to be excused for a disability and they come back bragging about how they play games the entire time. This wouldn't be the first time I have heard something similar about how it's more important for these children to have someone to talk with or be with, such as a mentor, than anything else. Therefore, children with learning differences are probably not really being treated any better, yet worse since they are not getting any treatment AND they are missing their regular classes.

WHEN they do give homework it is just busy work. I have documentation stating that it is not grade. My child even says the teacher doesn't care if the kids don't turn it in. Sometimes math is on it, sometimes it's not. The vocab/spelling words are so outdated no one has bothered to change them in years; they just change the date. Half the time, the homework doesn't even relate to what the kids are learning in class that week. It's confusing, a waste of time, and is not even graded, checked or rewarded for those who complete it.

Daily/weekly the principal, vice, teachers, counselors and parents have to come in to remove students for being disruptive. If there are good students, it's difficult to see them. Last year my child said a student peed next to the slide outside. I'm pretty sure this is not a good school. Most children lie or sneak things past the teacher. My children can tell me some crazy stories about the kids there, even more about how the school deals with them, rather how the school doesn't deal with them.

Leadership is poor. Top down, school wide, overall, no one is a leader and takes responsibility for ensuring the best education practices are followed. There is zero continuity among grade levels and teachers. The principal has no clue what is happening in each classroom and does not care to find out, even if it means becoming more involved and observing daily practices. Hardly any communication flows from principal to teacher to parent weekly which leaves teachers and parents confused about what to expect and what is going on. Students do what they are told and spend most of their time bouncing around from resource to resource as funding, scheduling, and timing permits. Holidays give the school more reasons to conduct adhoc fundraisers and hold meetings or assemblies and keep students out of the classroom, even during vital testing periods (Nov/Dec). Education is NOT a goal of the leadership. They won't move on if others are behind. If you have a smart child, don't put them here. Please, tour the school DURING school. Do an all-day tour. See how teachers and other staff are.

Phenomenal experience with Seabreeze. The extra curricular classroom teachers are the best in Duval County. The principal and teaching staff is just amazing!

Seabreeze Elementary School has been in Jax for 50 years. And when I first came there in 2011, I met my favorite teacher and some unforgettable friends. The teachers were great, too! The teachers always want you to do your best, and that's why they go to "small group" so they can help you! Seabreeze is also a place where I met my best friends and my crush! And that's why this school is special to me, because of all the memories and caring teachers and superiors.
