You may think homework is excessive only is you came from an inadequate school. This school prepares students for what's coming next. The work is worth it! Work is required for success, especially for preparing for high school and college.

Loved the recognition our students received and the focus on manners and respect, integrity, etc. in addition to the excellent curriculum and academics.

It was very hit and miss with us for a few years. I think it was because my daughter had two new teachers in a row, and this was in the older building. Advocate for your child and switch if necessary. Overall, an excellent experience compared to Tyndall Elem.

We absolutely loved this school, and were disappointed when we had to move and our time here was up. We can't say enough about this school. We had three children attend, all with very different learning needs/talents.

I have been impressed since the beginning of the school year at how the focus is on the development of the whole child, not just academics.

Alisa Krieger is a 1st grade teacher at North Bay Haven Academy Elementary. Lilly Ansley has been blessed with the greatest teacher a child could have. Ms. Krieger realized that it was a very difficult time in Lilly's life with parents divorcing. She was not only concerned with helping Lilly focus on academics, but very in tune with how she was feeling. The communication between teacher, father, and grandmother has been key in how far Lilly has come this year. The results have been: moving to advanced reading group, February Student of the Month, and Honor Roll!Thank you Ms Krieger with all our heart! We are forever grateful to you!

The staff at the school are very engaged and the students are too. The majority of the teachers time is spend in learning/teaching and not with behavior problems, which relates to the standards that are expected. Kids need structure and guidance, and to know what's expected of them, and that is what is presented. I would like to see a curriculum addressing money / finance, as it's something that will affect your entire life, but is not taught in school. Also looking forward to the new school opening in the fall.

This school has excellent teachers who challenge the students, but do it in a creative way so that they all understand the material. There is open communication between teachers & parents. If you are deciding whether or not to send your child to NBHCA, I encourage you to look through their website. Every teacher has a website, there are weekly newsletters, and the school provides access to their curriculum maps; basically there are no secrets when it comes to what your child is learning. The teachers are very accommodating to the children and the child's style of learning. If your child has ADHD (like mine), this is the best school for them. The teachers have the capability and passion to work with your child without having a 504 or IEP. I have never had to wait to have an accommodation be made. They just naturally work with him.
