This school is one of the worst middle schools that my child has attended. The teachers talk to the children like they are criminals on the street, they are quick to lock kids out of classrooms, they are not caring or compassionate. Never notify parents when something is going on at the school. They just make their own decisions and not gathering information to make the child feel as if they are protected. The staff looks at all the children the same and not as individuals. Man if someone would talk to your kid like the way the teachers talked to mine they would understand my pain. All I hear is your child is a good kid. If so why are these teacher treating my child like this. As a young girl coming up in this world this school has ruined her interest in education and having trust in teachers and feels she cant talk because she is misjudged and always being yelled at. This is not the way to build up our future generation. I just know she will not be returning to this school.

This school is awful. I was warned about this school being as bad as it is, and I figured Id still give it a shot. Well I regret it. The principal takes NO action unless you actually go there, and the vice principal is no where to be found. My child has been bullied several times while getting sent home on suspension. The teachers just seem like they are to the point of its not worth my time. If you email them or try to contact the teachers about grades or missing work you will be ignored. We had a teacher that my child was showing failing come to find out, for almost the entire semester the teacher hadnt input ANY of my childs grades until literally the last day before the end of the grading period. So here I am, taking my childs belongings away for failing, just to find out that the teacher was failing at inputting the grades The entire school is a joke. Its sad that we now have to pay a bunch of money for our children to get into a charter school due to the shortcomings of any public school system.

The school tries to welcome families and provide support for special ed and social-emotional well-being, but the students have huge behavioral issues. There are too many students crammed into each class, and most of them scream, pay no attention, argue, fight, curse, destroy property, and are generally disrepectful. You cannot teach in this environment, and I would not put my own child here.

Terrible school. They have many violent students and Admin does not help when you ask for help. There is hardly any learning taking place there because of the many behavioral issues. Awful and unsafe place.

General Ed: This has got to be the worst school. There's so much bullying and fighting. Every other day there was a fight going on when I would pick my kids up. The teachers are constantly yelling over and at children (my child has recorded audio videos and sent them to me). The children don't respect the teachers and a lot of the teachers don't respect the children. No matter what happens in the classroom the kids are ALWAYS wrong and the teachers are ALWAYS right and the admin will always back their teachers up. The teachers always call the kids bad as well. It's just an awful school. Please send your kids somewhere else, I wouldn't event trust them with my dog!!
On a positive note I will say majority of the ESE teachers are great and really love the kids

Honestly my kids dont get as much homework as I did in the 80s
Posted: November 14, 2020
Our teachers are intentional with our students and are always available for parent communication.
Posted: November 14, 2020
I see our teachers pouring into our more behaved kids But I dont have a way of knowing if they do with the kids that are having more trouble in school and at home.

I have 2 children at Mann. Both learn differently. Both are thriving like never before!! But I am also a hands on parent. All the work cannot be put on the teacher.

I know they deal with it on a regular basis like any school. 2020 is a hard head. Our schools need to be equipped with extra counselors. Bullies arent just born bullies. They have been hurt, bullied and mistreated and they need help.

We have had amazing teachers so far. These teachers really care about the kids and are encouraging them. My daughter loves every single one of her teachers!

We have been so impressed with the involvement, sportsmanship, and dedication of the staff here.
Posted: May 17, 2018
Principle is very involved, sends texts and voicemails every week. We toured the school before enrolling her and the office staff and guidance counseler was so helpful and knowledgeable.
Posted: May 17, 2018
Not really sure but my daughter is in advanced and we have had great experiences!
Posted: May 17, 2018
We have had no issues with bullying at this school so far.
Posted: May 17, 2018
So far a 5 star, teachers have been amazing. School needs updating but my daughter has excelled and is now making straight A's.
Posted: May 17, 2018
Homework isn't too bad; however, there have been cases where my daughter hasn't gotten so much she had to wake up before school to finish.

Still getting a feel for the school since my son has only been there about a month
Posted: January 14, 2017
my son talks really good about his teachers. totally the opposite he used to do in the previews school.
Posted: January 14, 2017
giving homework to the students should help the teachers learn where the students need the assistance since they have to do the work based on what they learned and this way have the parents involved on what is needed and expected to improve

My son is currently in 7th grade. Coming from A Charter School and being Honor Roll student from K-5th grade, once we moved into the area he was assigned to Rodgers (horrible option but only one) grades went from A-B to D-F & 1-C. After 3 months I decided to move to Mann school area so he had to change schools...within 3 1/2 weeks right before Christmas break grades went up to A-B & 1-C. Talk about a change. Principal very nice very positive (have hear her talk to others not myself), counselor very supportive and interested in the child's future, very helpful and realistic. Loved it. My son is finally back at his normal grades and was the highest score in the Math test. When the teacher realized his potential spoke to his counselor and he was right away transferred to Honors Math. That's when you really pay attention to the kids, their knowledge, their advancement and you try your best to help them keep improving. That's the meaning of a TEACHER. Always push them to do better. The school might have a low grade but the teachers do help the students to do their best. Is not an A charter school which is what we're used to but is a great school and my son, my self and his dad are happy with the changes and progress. NOTE of improvement: teachers should be more strong and serious with the students when taking these state exams which are not easy at all reason for the school grade to be so low. Maybe having a 1 on 1 or group sessions and of course involving more the parents for assistance. Most of us the what we can for the future of our children.

My daughter is currently in 7th grade here. I must admit I was nervous with switching her from Mulrennan to Mann , however they have by far exceeded my expectations. My daughter is consistently on the principal honor roll and has more friends this year than the past two combined. When my daughter had questions with math her teacher Mr. Jenson didn't hesitate to let her come in early and stay after school to help ensure she was ready for her exam. The overall appearance of the school needs some updating but other than that I cant say one negative thing!

Unless your children are in advanced or honors class don't send them here. The students in average classes end up end class sizes of 30 or more disruptive non-motivated students.

Worst school ever!! This school could care less for the student well being. From students up to teachers who support bullying. You get more response from a brick wall than the principal. Horrible treatement. Don't seam to handle or properly address any issue. They care more about clocking in and out for a paycheck. Had to rate one star, because it's the least allowed.

My son really enjoys his teachers, and is having a great time learning and growing in Mann.

Mann Middle School is amazing! This is the beginning of my daughters 2nd year there and we love it! All the teachers and staff are very caring and understanding. The communication between parents and teachers is very easy and they are readily available to help or answer any questions. My daughter is in all advanced Honors classes, and it appears that there are many students in these upper classes as well. I've noticed just how many honors classes there are. So that tells me they are obviously doing something right!! I can't say enough Good things about this wonderful school!! Keep up the Good work Mann Middle School!! Sincerely, G. Raulerson.

My son attends this school now, he's in 8th grade and in the AVID program and it is AMAZING!!! From the staff, to the teachers, and to the principal. They care for their students as if it were their own children. The teachers at this school encourage, motivate and educate the children. My son is focused on taking all the steps necessary to achieve his goals and his dream. Thank you to the teachers in Mann Middle school I look forward for when my next child attends here.
