I went to this school, and I hated with a passion. Nobody cared about what happened to the students. I was sexually harassed by a fellow student and they didn't do anything about it. The teachers are good at teaching either.

This school has a lot of opportunities that allow you to get jobs right after high school and spring you into careers with a head start.
However the management at this school is mediocre, with them letting kids get away with disrespecting teachers, roaming the halls, vaping, etc. Not only that but as a student you are rolling the dice with how respectful the teachers are to you. Some are extremely passive-aggressive and overly sarcastic, making them intimidating and distressing to interact with. Others are nice and accommodating, wanting their students to succeed and caring about them beyond academics. It's also quite disappointing how hostile the overall environment here is. Trash is littered with lazy students throwing their unfinished lunches on the ground, and good luck using the bathrooms here as you'll be, inhaling second hand vape, getting assaulted with students throwing things like trash cans at you, and having your stall lock be broken. Overall, not very good.

The principal (Woody) and the AD (Mitchell ) dont care about the students. They care more about painting this false image of the school. The principal loves to make it seem like the school is the best when its not. TBT is full of drama and they dont care about kids with felling grades. Please keep your kids away one of the worse things I could have done to my son.

It is a great school but it would be even better is they would have officers in the pick up area at picking up time. Not at the front gate but on the general parking because a lot of parents or guardians does not respect traffic rules and drive at speed INSIDE the parking lot as well as against traffic. It's a wonder a student haven't been hit yet.

What do you do if the teachers are bullying the students? And the principal stands up for the teachers and says you must be wrong? This pandemic has brought out the absolute worst in Tampa Tech. Online learning is a joke and there is no continuity with teachers and learning. Teachers are mean and make fun of students and get away with it. Guidance and Principal don't care. STAY AWAY from this school. RUN.

Please if your child complains to you about being bullied at this school please believe them. I found out on my own that the kids that are bullied are afraid to reported it for fear of getting the same punishment as the other student that bully them. I used to think that my child was exaggerating until I received a picture of her face bruised by a person that was bullying her and a friend. When I went up to the school the assistant principal told me with a smile on his face that if he suspended the girl that was aggressive to my child, he would have to suspend all three girls. He advised me to call the transportation because it had happened in the bus. The transport department stated the they have had several complaints but Tampa Tech wouldnt do anything about it and the bus drivers were tired of nothing being done, thats the reason why no referral was written up. The victims of bullying shouldnt have to be punished for reporting it. I must admit that Im very disappointed by the staff of Tampa Tech. The main office staff have no manners. They seem to just gather around talking. How can we expect our kids to follow their example if the staff in the main office doesnt have any manners. I find their behavior rude.
Is this how our tax money is being use. Its sad and scary

I DO NOT recommend anyone to attend Tampa Tech High School!!! The staff does not care about the students well being. Since the beginning of the school year my sister and her friends have been bullied in the bus and no one (including the bus driver) did anything about it. The bully makes other students get out of their seats, say awful words and hits them. Also, there are students sitting on the floor on the bus. My mom and I went to the school because we were fed up and wanted to solve this issue. Since my sister got bullied, her grades dropped. The staff in the main office were so rude! The office ladies were standing around gossiping and obviously did not care about anything. We asked to speak to the principal but they called the assistant principal and the office ladies didnt even told us he was on his way, they just continue gossiping among themselves. The assistant principal told us he will have to suspend everyone including the victims( my sister being one of them). My mom said that was fine as long as the girl whose bullying everyone learns its not right to put her hands on others. Everyone needs to know theres consequences for their actions my mom told him. Of course nothing was done! The assistant principal just gave her the bus transportation phone number. My mom asked for the school board phone number but the staff in student affairs acted as if they didnt know. Luckily a lady gave us the school board number. My mom had to go to the extend of calling higher ups (even higher then the principal) to solve an issue of her daughter being bullied because NO ONE in Tampa Bay Technical High School cares about their students!

If you child struggles, the teacher label them. If your child "falls under the radar", the school will allow them to continue to do badly and not reach out to the parent regarding their child. I would not recommend this school for anyone who wants them to have any type of open communication with the staff.

The teachers are attentive to student needs but require students to learn self advocacy skills as well.
Posted: November 25, 2015
There is A LOT of homework. But I often feel as though it keeps my child in a competitive mindset and that has positive results.

Students have applied to attend this school. They know the consequences of inappropriate behavior. Students pressure each other to do the right thing.

The students and faculty have focus at this school. The school is 100% Magnet at this makes all the difference.

Tampa Bay Technical is an amazing school. I graduated class of 2013. It was the only high school I applied for and I don't regret a moment of it. The teachers and the administrators are very caring and attentive to their students. Great school to attend and I would recommend to anyone!

Awful. That's the only word I can think to describe this school. No dedication and the students learn more at home on their own free time than they do in the classrooms. I am never sending my children here and I advise you to do the same. Your child will become depressed and no counseling will be available at the school to help. This school cares more about their A average than if the students actually learn anything.

I'm being around this school for the last 8 years. Overall an excellent school. The participation in sports and clubs help my children very much, making their high school experience very positive. They love the multiracial environment. My suggestion is to review non core classes and to integrate others that prepared them more for college, like philosophy. I will be missing driving to Tech. Titans pride, Go Tech!

I have just finished Freshman year here at TBT. I wouldn't say that this school is terrible, but I also wouldn't say it is the very best. I was not miserable, I overall had a good time. Getting involved in clubs and extracurricular activities makes your first year more fun. The teachers and staff are overall accepting and mostly dedicated. Like any other high school, fights break out occasionally and the smell of illegal drugs can fill the air. Although, this is not because of the school, but because of some of the students. You are not labeled at this school like most cliche high schools, there are no abundant groups of jocks, nerds, punks, or popular kids. You can basically be friends with anyone without being directly labeled into a specific group. Teachers are great, but watch out for the newbies, they either may take their job too seriously, or not give a care in the world about it at all. I was not bullied my Freshman year which is a pleasant welcoming. All in all, this school was a pretty good first experience into the world of high school.

My daughter was in the medical program for one year and learned a lot, this year she switched to architecture program and she is having and awesome year, not to much to complain except that I guess teachers are not used to Edsby because some of them don't update it, but a lot to mention, the AP classes are really good, the AP teacher Dr. Pool is the best.

Tampa Bay Technical High School is a great school. The teachers care about the students and offer extra help whenever needed. The office administration is efficient, organized and attentive. The difference between this great school and other academic institutions is that this learning facility is not into the power of authority, but rather into the love of education . Totally an A school.

This school is wonderfully horrid, the only thing that you will be able to learn at this establishment is how to procreate with multiple partners and do so discreetly so that the staff will not be informed about your doings. My daughter had the greatest time learning how to set fire to the trashcans which are surprisingly full of flammable rubber contraceptions. She told me in great detail how her teacher spent the entire class period showing another student how to get rid of her love bite due to her constant interruptions of the class with her fear that her mother would find it.

If you are looking to take a Health Science class do not take CNA ! You will not be able to sit for the exam as promissed and paid for before graduation...this makes this class and it's only teacher useless. No ACCOUNTABILITY this is the second year that the CNA Class was not able to finish with a CERTIFICATION.. So aLL THE CHILDREN WERE LEFT BEHIND.
