Marathon high school has a horrible education system I went there for a tew years and couldn't tell you one productive thing I've learned in that school administration also blows some of them have horrible attitude and hardly ever do anything about occurring issues they focus on dress code and attendance rather than the drug issue there which seem to be more important than a little rip in your jeans and other deceitful things that happen there as well they are extremely disorganized when it comes to state testing I would not recommend putting your child in this school they also seem to disregard issues between students until it gets physical and have to do something about it most the time they'd rather sit around because they don't like to write reports the things that they discipline for is absolutely ridiculous your child will get disciplined for a tardy before they'll get disciplined for skipping classes they'll bring it your attention when your child's academics are at risk due to poor attendance.

The youngest of our 4 children attended MHS and graduated. Our first experience was when I walked our son to summer football practice and another student offered him the use of his spare cleats and welcomed him to the team. (We had just arrived in town and the movers had not yet arrived with all out stuff.) This welcoming attitude was evident in all aspects of school life for my son, academics, sports, drama and honor society. My son was more successful in DE, AP and regular classes at Marathon than our other children were at highly ranked school in the north east US.

I went to this school for a little bit and ended up dropping out. Other schools were not and option for me. This school is by far the worst. There are teachers that physically harm students and principals who look the other way. Popularity among the staff and the students is based off how much money you have as well. Teachers will care much more for a student with wealthy parents and ignore ones who are lower then them. The whole school is a joke.

Had a terrible experience here. Teachers spent more time "dealing" with troubled students than actually teaching. Which is probably why the average test scores are so low. This school also has its fair share of crime on and off campus. In the end it felt like this school only sees students as numbers and doesn't tend to care for them individually.
To improve the overall experience here: The school's staff needs to further punish crime and trouble making students, care for each student as an individual, and get rid of the uncomfortable uniforms. The school itself needs a bigger cafeteria and cleaner restrooms.

After moving from Broward County at one of the "BEST" schools it had to offer that turned out to be a joke I am leary of public schools in Florida. Marathon has greatly changed my opinion. My daughter has excelled so far and has made such a huge turn around from the issues she had at her old school. Bullying is non-existant, teachers actually care and give the kids the attention they need. I'm so thrilled with this school and thankful this is the district we live in!

I have two daughters who attend this school and they love it, but I think that they are too relaxed; there is not much for them to do when they are home. I would like to see them being challenged. There is not much motivation or anything that is pushing them to strive for the best. Marathon is a great school, but there is room for much improvement.

Parent involvement is a key. I am new to the school with a 6th grader @ the middle school. I have attended the SAC meetings in the media center on the 2nd Tuesdays of the month @ 6pm. I am learning about all the exciting new programs the school is taking on for the students. The school is working hard to put students @ the top to be prepared for College or future careers. I want to be involved as much as I can for my 6th graders future. I hope ALL parents feel this way and start to Volunteer.
