We have had a wonderful experience at Florosa Elementary! The administration is amazing, caring, and truly dedicated to the students. They go above and beyond to create a positive learning environment for every child. The communication from the school is excellent, and parents are always kept informed. The teachers are fantastic, and my child's second-grade teacher this year was absolutely wonderful. We are so grateful to be part of this school community!

In my experience, Florosa doesn't have sufficient supports in place for children with unique abilities to reach their potential and thrive.

Months of trying to communicate to this school that my daughter needs to refrain from gym class because of severe medical concerns. They insist they need medical documentation that isn't possible at her age, she's 6 and it requires a specialist that will likely take well beyond the end of the school year to get an appointment with. I've given them information about the suspected condition, that it's genetic, and went into detail about my own history with the same genetic defect. And how having her run without being assessed by a specialist first puts her at risk of permanent loss of her ability to walk. She got home today and the first thing she tells me is she was told to run laps and couldn't do it. The school was instructed very clearly to keep her out of gym class and why. If your child has any disability that needs accommodation, DON'T LET THEM GO TO FLOROSA. It isn't worth the potential harm. If they have done the same to you, please speak out. Our kids need to be protected.

My daughter is reaching the end of 3rd grade at Florosa and has attended since kindergarten. We have been blessed with the best teachers every year & appreciate all of the staff who are always kind. Mrs. Leach, Mrs. Belanger, Mrs. Lam, Mrs. Pulliam & Mrs. Reed are some of the most outstanding women in the education field! The teachers genuinely care about their students and so does the principal!

This is the best school in the county! My child has gone here for 4 years and had wonderfully supportive teachers who encourage him to be his best self. The admin is incredibly helpful and engaging, communication is top notch and there are many after school activities available to enrich his life. Hes made lifelong friends here and we will miss Florosa so much when he moves on to middle school next year.

Weve had a great experience at the school. The principal, teachers, and security are great! Our only hiccup has been the receptionist at the front desk being a little unfriendly.
Otherwise, our son has excelled and has had the best teachers.

Just moved to the area, Mrs. Huggins and Mrs. Leach are the most wonderful teachers! My child has an IEP and they have been very patient and kind helping my child transition. They are very experienced and implement various teaching methods in attempt to find the right path to teach my child. In addition to great teachers, the office staff and resources teachers have been just as great!

Florosa Elementary has been one of the best schools my child has ever gone to! We lived in Santa Rosa County Last year and school was ok but much bigger... but he didn't enjoy it as much as this school! His 2nd grade teacher & the front desk clerk-Miss Dia, have all been the nicest, caring, most professional ever!!! My son LOVES going to school here! And that says a lot because we are military and move quite often and my son has gone thru much anxiety with going to school. Florosa has been a wonderful thing for us this past 2013-2014 year!

Its the worst school in okaloosa. The principal Never speaks when you come into the office or when the hallway. That's not good when a part of a top soroity. TEACHERS lets see, it takes them at least a week to respond to anything. I have yet to have a parent teacher conference and the school year is almost done!!!!! Some it up do not send your child I wish I never did!!!!!

My son has been at Florosa for 3 years and loves it. I love the school and I have no idea what the person who wrote silent lunches is refering too bc I go to lunch at least once a week and it has never been silent. The only complaint I have is that the office is not always very curtious.

My daughter was going to Kindergarten. Great homework load, not too much not too little. Ms Minks - jewel of the school, super teacher, she cares about each student. My daughter thought very highly of her. We moved to Crestview, closer to work, "better school -Antioch" ....hmm.. We miss Florosa school, we miss Ms Minks a lot.

We just moved here from Colorado in March and my daughter is in Kindergarten. There are two schools to choose from around Hurlburt Field and I checked both of them out - Florosa won me over from the moment I walked into their office. The office manager and principal were there to welcome us with open arms! My daughter was put into Ms Pacheco's class and assessed. I was told that my daughter was no where near where she needed to be in reading due to poor education she received in Colorado and we were looking at repeating Kindergarten. I have worked with her two hours a day and Ms. Pacheco was working with her since March, and today I'm happy to report she will be graduating kindergarten and going on to first grade!!!!! Love this school!!!! Wish we could stay, but we moved to Navarre and that drive on 98 every day is just not for me! We will miss you Florosa Roadrunners but so thankful we found you when we did!

I am a single parent and moved to the area from Richmond county, GA and I am blessed that my daughter was accepted in Florosa. Compared to GA, this is an outstanding school: Ms. Leach is a great teacher and listener. Communication flow is easy and transparent in both directions; Staff are professional and courteous from the Cafeteria manager to the principal office. My daughter, although has been through a lot due to my separation, has drastically improved thanks to the help of Ms. Leach and Ms. Weaver. Kudos to this A+ School. N.B: I am a father and very meticulous when it comes to rating and constructive criticism

Gosh, I just don't know where to start. We changed schools from WNPS to Florosa. We have been treated like dirt ever since our son started at the school. We had him evaluated for ADHD, which was done by our private psychologist. We received recommendations from the psychologist to have him put on an IEP/504 Plan... yet, the school turned us down. We were told that he must be failing in order for them to provide any support! Yes, I said failing... and yes, this came out of the mouths of the principal and the guidance counselor. They also told me that C- average is GREAT! This is also verbatim. Well, a week after that meeting and I get FOUR behavioral notices on him. He is consistently black balled and sent to the principal's office. Sounds like these reviews are tainted. Good luck to anyone who has a special needs student, especially ADHD. The teachers, principal, and guidance counselor wants your child so badly on medication and doped up that the child can barely see straight... this is their idea of "education".
